Stanley team up with Messi for new water bottle range fans are hailing 'unreal'
Stanley have collaborated with football legend Lionel Messi in a second collection - and fans can't get enough of it Stanley's latest collaboration has sports fans excited, as the bestselling water bottle brand have teamed up with Argentine football player Lionel Messi. The Messi x Stanley 1913 collection includes five of Stanley's popular products, all reimagined in a pale blue colourway called Messi Striker Blue and embossed with a lightening bolt in a gold finish and Messi's '10' signature. Shoppers can choose from the iconic Quencher ProTour Flip Straw Tumbler, the IceFlow FLip Straw 2.0 bottle, the Classic Mate Mug, High Precision Flow Mate System and the IceFlow Flip Straw Jug. Prices start at £35 for the mug and up to £90 for the 1.9 litre jug. Elsewhere on the Stanley website, shoppers can enjoy free personalisation on a range of Stanley designs throughout July. From names to logos and graphics, it's a free way to make a Stanley product completely unique and could work well as a gift. Sharing the collaboration news on the Stanley Instagram, the brand wrote: "From Roasario to the world. The next chapter of Messi x Stanley 1913 continues - bold blue, striking gold and built with the pride of a nation. Designed for legends. Made for every day." Following the success of Messi's first collection with Stanley, it's no surprise that the new drop has been met with anticipation. One person left a comment that says 'this is so exciting' another wrote 'the perfect colour I want'. A third shared that they 'love the colour' of this 'unreal collab', and a fourth hailed it 'the perfect aesthetic'. Messi x Stanley 1913 Quencher® ProTour Flip Straw Tumbler | 1.2L £60 Stanley Shop the range Product Description Among the excitement, someone was left disappointed with the price point, sharing 'so cool, I want one but prices are a joke'. Alternatively, a 750ml Ocean Bottle retails for £40, compared to the £45 700ml IceFlow Flip Straw 2.0 Bottle. Those that prefer the 'original' Stanley tumbler design, like the £60 Quencher Tumbler, might be interested in the Owala Travel Tumbler, stocked at Amazon for £36.99. It comes in four colours and holds slightly less water than Stanley's 1.2 litre tumbler, with a 1.185 litre capacity. The Stanley Quencher ProTour Flip Straw Tumbler features a new style of lid that 'never leaks'. Shoppers say it is 'great at keeping beverages cold' and is an 'everyday essential. One person left a review that says: "I am obsessed with this tumbler! The 1.2L size is perfect for keeping me hydrated throughout the day, whether I'm at my desk, in the car, or at the gym. The flip straw is super convenient and leak-proof, which is a huge win for someone always on the go. I also love how sturdy and high-quality it feels — classic Stanley durability! The handle makes it easy to carry around, and it keeps my water ice-cold for hours. Honestly, I didn't think I could love a tumbler this much." Those that prefer hot beverages might find the Classic Mug Mate of interest. Double-wall vacuum insulation keeps any brew at the ideal temperature. The full collection is now available on Stanley's website, with prices starting at £35.

Inter Miami acquire M Rodrigo De Paul from Atletico
July 26 - Inter Miami acquired Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul from LaLiga powerhouse Atletico Madrid. The MLS club announced the move late Friday, with De Paul arriving on loan through 2025 with a purchase option that could make the deal permanent through 2029. De Paul, 31, will not occupy a designated player spot on the roster as he reunites with fellow 2022 FIFA World Cup champion Lionel Messi. "Assembling a team that inspires our fans to dream continues to be one of our primary aspirations, so we're thrilled to sign a player of Rodrigo's caliber. He is a winner who has conquered the world stage; his ambitions match ours at Inter Miami, and we are hungry to achieve these goals together," Inter Miami CF managing owner Jorge Mas said. "Several of the best players in global futbol have already chosen Inter Miami as their home, and Rodrigo joining our roster is another landmark as we continue on this journey to change the trajectory of the sport in this country and make our fans proud." De Paul has accumulated 57 goals and 74 assists in nearly 500 professional matches with Argentina's Racing Club (2012-14), Italy's Udinese (2016-21) and Spain's Valencia (2014-16) and Atletico (2021-25). "Rodrigo is a player I've admired for many years. As a leader he has brought so much to the teams he has played for -- especially with his national team Argentina," Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham said. "He brings experience, passion and quality to our team and to our city. I'm excited to welcome another World Cup-winning player not just to Inter Miami, but also to MLS." Internationally, he has been capped 78 times by Argentina. In addition to the World Cup, he helped the team win Copa America championships in 2021 and 2024. De Paul became known for his role as an enforcer for Messi. "What brings me to Inter Miami is the desire to compete, win titles, to write the pages in the club's history," De Paul said. "It's a club that is shaping up to be great, to have a long history, so that many people follow this incredible team." --Field Level Media

Lionel Messi left 'extremely upset' after picking up bizarre MLS ban - as Inter Miami star and team-mate Jordi Alba hit with 'draconian' suspension
Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami teammate Jordi Alba have been left 'extremely upset' after being handed a one-match ban for missing this week's MLS All-Star game. The former Barcelona stars, who made the move to Florida together in the summer of 2023, had been expected to line-up for an MLS squad against Liga MX All-Stars in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday. They both however missed the fixture, in which the MLS side ran out 3-1 victors, with Inter Miami boss Javier Mascherano later revealing Messi was suffering with fatigue, while Alba had picked up a knock. But their absence was not approved by the league, leaving both stars liable to sanction. The MLS announced their one-match ban on Friday with a statement reading: 'Inter Miami CF defender Jordi Alba and forward Lionel Messi will be unavailable for the club's Matchday 27 game against FC Cincinatti on Saturday evening, due to their absence at the 2025 MLS All-Star game.' With Miami just seven points off league leaders Cincinatti, the league's decision leaves Mascherano's side without two of their most influential players for a crucial fixture. Messi and Alba have been left 'extremely upset' by the ban, said Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas in response to the announcement yesterday. 'The reaction was exactly as expected out of two competitive players who don't understand the decision, who don't understand why not attending an exhibition leads directly to a suspension. 'The rule is what it is, but they don't understand it. I think that the punishment for the role is frankly draconian. 'I'm hopeful that it doesn't have an impact long-term. Will it have an impact initially, in the players' perception of how the league rules work? Absolutely no doubt.' Despite admitting 'there's no one who's done more for the MLS than Messi,' the league's commissioner Dan Gorber said they had to 'enforce' the rules. 'I know Lionel Messi loves this league,' he said. 'I don't think there 's a player, or anyone, who has done for MLS than Messi. I fully understand, respect and admire his commitment to Inter Miami and I respect his decision. 'Unfortunately we have a long-standing policy regarding participation in the All-STar Game and we had to enforce it.' The All-Star game saw Sergio Ramos line-up for the Liga MX All-Stars in Texas The MLS All-Star XI, which was too missing stars such as Marco Reus and Sergio Busquets, beat the Liga MX All-Stars 3-1, with former Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge on the scoresheet for the American side. Ex-Napoli winger Hirving Lozano featured for the MLS XI, while former Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos - now plying his trade at Monterrey - played for the first-half for the Mexican XI. Messi, now 38, has taken the American league by storm since making the switch from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023. In 19 appearances in his first full season, he bagged 20 goals, providing 10 assists. While this season Messi has netted 19 goals in as many appearances, setting up a further seven. With his contract up this summer, rumours had been swirling of the superstar possibly making a surprise exit from the MLS, though he now looks set to .
