James Orduña, Jessa Roda rule Parañaque leg of Metro Manila 10 Miler Series

James Darrel Orduña and Jessa Mae Roda pulled off thrilling finishes to rule their respective 16K races in the Parañaque leg of the Metro Manila 10 Miler Series on Sunday at Parqal Aseana City.
Orduña, who also finished first in both Manila and Muntinlupa legs of the series, clocked in 56 minutes and 24 seconds, one second faster than men's division runner-up Richie Estampador.
Roda, meanwhile, logged one hour, five minutes, and 36 seconds to finish faster than women's division second placer Edna Magtubo who had 1:05:37.
In the 10K race, Roy Laudit (32:15), Noli Torre (32:16), and Welmer Jeck Labrador (32:38) completed the men's division podium, while the top three in the women's race were Asia Paraase (39:36), Shiekhy Heart Supremo (45:18), and Maria Jonna Lina Abutas (46:00).
Oyam Kerl Espinosa had 16:17 minutes to finish first in the men's 5K race, followed by Jerico Cadag (16:19) and Rhannie Pilaspilas (16:20).
In the women's 5k race, Lezarny Sanita (20:23) placed first, followed by Shaira Mae Fantilaga (20:32) and Liznie Delfino (22:10).
The remaining legs of the Rexona Metro Manila 10 Miler Series will be held in Makati on September 14 and Quezon City on November 23.

Meanwhile, muay thai's Rudzma Abubakar booked a spot to the semis after a 30-27 victory in the quarterfinals against Anastasiia Mykhailenko of Ukraine in the combat 48kg women event. Earlier, wushu star Agatha Wong scored 91.60 and finished eighth out of nine competitors in the taolu taijiquan event.
