雙響超越Wight、Strawberry Alonso：只想做好自己本分
今年開季至今雖然就全壘打產量來說不那麼驚艷，但其餘各項打擊數據都令人驚嘆的大都 會重砲Pete Alonso，今天(9日)繳出3安包括雙響貢獻4分打點的內容，幫助大都會13比5在科羅拉多橫掃洛磯。

這場比賽就是大都會的煙火秀，洛磯全場10支安打沒有全壘打，大都會17安就有6轟而且包辦11分打點，除了 Alonso雙響4打點，Jeff McNeil也同樣是3安雙響4打點。另外8棒Brett Baty開砲進帳2分打點，9棒Francisco Alvarez則是3安開轟2打點。
Alonso此役雙響成為焦點，因為這是他效力大都會生涯的第243轟，正式超越名將David Wright的242轟獨居隊史全壘打榜第2位，與隊史全壘打王Darryl Strawberry的252轟差距也縮小到9支；此外，這也是Alonso生涯第23場單場至少2轟的比賽，超越Strawberry的22場成為隊史最多。
本季打擊率來到3成01、17轟、61分打點，其中全壘打排大聯盟並列第8、打點高居大聯盟之冠的Alonso表示：「這很酷，我就只是想要幫助球隊每天都有贏球的機會，我的比賽就是把球擊出去，做我能做的事情送回隊友，且讓身後的隊友繼續上場打擊，對我來說這都歸因於做好自己的事情，每天全力求勝。」
上述全壘打數據還沒能顯現出Alonso的重砲威力，根據資料，Alonso僅花912場就有243轟，Wright是1585場，Strawberry則是1109場。此外，以目前進度，Alonso本季有望42轟，打點更有望來到150分而挑戰2022年131分打點的個人單季紀錄。
最後，Alonso從2023年6月19日至今已連續出賽320場，這同樣寫下大都會隊史連續出賽場次的紀錄且持續翻新中。
值得一提的是，與Alonso同樣都是大聯盟生涯一開始就效力大都會、迄今8年比Alonso多1年的McNeil表示：「他(Alonso)整個生涯都在這裡，他創下新人單季全壘打紀錄，現在他逼近大都會隊史全壘打紀錄，我等不及看他登頂，我希望能盡快到來，我不清楚他還差幾支。」
之後被告知還差9支時McNeil說：「那我還差幾支？」，結果記者們回他「超過9支。」，McNeil笑回：「好吧，或許有朝一日」
連同今天雙響，McNeil生涯效力大都會的全壘打總數為74支。
