Flight attendant's important advice to people washing their hands on planes
A flight attendant has shared important advice to passengers wanting to wash their hands on a plane, suggesting it could introduce more germs than it removes. Cher, a seasoned flight attendant with five years under her belt, took to social media to expose the "filthiest parts" of an aircraft as holidaymakers begin boarding flights for their much-deserved summer breaks.
Known as @cherdallas on TikTok, the cabin crew member revealed: "I've seen people vomit inside the bathroom sinks numerous times so if you drop sometimes in there, I would consider it a loss. Never ever have I seen the sinks get cleaned out. The sink water that you wash your hands with is also filthy. You're not allowed to drink it because it has too much bacteria in it so washing your hands with it is probably not great.
"I don't know what's in it but it constantly degrades my nails and makes them extremely brittle whether I have paint on them, gel or dip, it completely degrades the outside of it."
She also claimed she has never witnessed anyone clean the window shades and has only once seen anyone clean the toilet seat.
She advises passengers to always keep their shoes on as the plane carpet is riddled with germs and doesn't receive the care it needs between flights.
In her post, she warned: "Sorry in advance if this grosses you out the next time you fly but everyone should have the facts."
Reacting to her post, one user admitted: "I just realised that no matter how much I sanitise and clean everything around me on a plane, it's still awful."
Another user chimed in: "I mean, if they wouldn't clean the sink and toilet seats when landing in a destination I am quite sure you couldn't even use them anymore. Normally when landing cleaners come to clean them - flight attendant."
A third user commented: "Seat pockets are filthy too. I've seen the cleaning crew wipe stuff down real quick, but in general airplanes are dirty. I was sick for months when I first started as a flight attendant, no wonder."
Another user remarked: "One of the reasons I take Dramamine so I can sleep throughout the flight. Also no to skincare on flights! You just need a face oil if your skin feels dry and SPF."
Yet another user added: "I carry alcohol wipes and clean all surfaces around me. I also carry hand sanitiser and rub it before eating or rubbing my face."
A final user concluded: "As a former airline pilot, I won't wash my hands in lav. Hand sanitiser from my bag and then wash we land in the airport."

The lavish home sits on a large plot of land, acres away from neighbours, offering privacy and quietness. Outside, the property has an enormous garage as well as a pool, a vast lawn and a pool house with another bedroom and bathroom. Bridie said she and her family viewed 18 houses before falling in love with the one they ended up buying. The mother revealed that the family plan on doing renovations to the house and garden to add another en-suite inside and a games room, fire pit, outdoor kitchen and gym to the garden. Viewers were wowed by the incredible home and garden, with many expressing their jealousy. 'It's lovely, so much space and seems a peaceful location,' one user said. 'Absolutely beautiful. In the UK, Bridie lived with her family in Essex in a four-bedroom house with stunning views. Bridie said she and her family viewed 18 houses before falling in love with the one they ended up buying She said the house was 'perfect', but she didn't like having to work hours on end to afford the mortgage. 'Back in the UK, you feel like you're just working to pay the bills, so the reason we sold it was to be able to move over to Spain and buy a cheaper house to get rid of the mortgage and have less outgoing,' she explained. 'Believe it or not, this home sold for £100k more than what our Spanish home cost us, therefore less outgoings all round. 'And yes, it's big but you get a hell of a lot more for your money in Spain compared to the UK.' The expat said while she loved her British home, she was inspired to move to somewhere sunnier as she 'dreamt' of a life where she could work less and spend more time with her family. 'UK weather is not always sunny, we get a hell of a lot of rain and I wanted to be able to be outside more, enjoying the sunshine in Spain,' she added. Bridie said she was able to get a digital nomad visa to live and work in Spain, and it took two and a half years of planning. The Briton explained the visa lasts up to three years, after which she will reapply for another two years before getting full residency. 'We always knew we wanted to move abroad, but the time was never right, but when is the time ever right?' she said. 'The whole process of moving to Spain took about two and a half years. It's not easy to move from the UK to Spain; there are lots of different visas. 'We went down the digital nomad route because my job is all online-based, I do project coordination for a company back in the UK.' She added that her job involves organising events like fitness classes for the business and that she was going to the classes herself six days a week while in the UK - but she has chosen to live a slower life now that she's in Spain. 'I do feel like I have a lot of spare time now that I'm out here, it's very quiet, it's very relaxed,' Bridie admitted. She recommended that those who want to do the same move to join Facebook groups to get information and advice from people who have been through the process themselves.

So here are eight of her observations about the new work culture she is experiencing... 1. Employers provide food Luka said: "All food is free, it's normal for employers to give free lunch in China. If you have leftover lunch money, you can use it for snacks." 2. Napping isn't frowned upon The British expat explained: "It's normal to sleep in the office at lunch time." 3. It's high-tech Luka revealed many offices have temperature readers when you arrive, which can help to detect who is ill. This should help to stop sickness spreading to further employees. 4. Great amenities Luka's office has some brilliant facilities. She said: "The office has two gyms and a yoga studio that offers daily classes." 5. Relaxing areas It's not all fitness and productivity either – as there's even a room to unwind. The employee shared a picture of a "library room with a water fountain", which looks like a seriously nice place to relax. 6. Massages Speaking of relaxing, there are massage chairs available for workers to use. Plus, Luka added: "We also get a free 15 minute physio massage every week." 7. Less childcare costs Luka revealed: "Employees with children are allowed to bring them in during summer holidays!" 8. Nice views If you're working in cities like Shanghai, you're likely to get lovely cityscape views. From Luka's office, she can see iconic skyscrapers like the Pearl Tower. 9. Beautiful scenery everywhere It's not all corporate either – as Luka pointed out some lovely green spaces near her workplace. Fresh vegetables are being grown and there are plenty of pretty trees too. Reaction After looking through Luka's list, many took to the comments section to leave their thoughts.
