Ski jumping''s suit-cheating saga rolls on as 5 Norwegians are charged over ''manipulation''
The FIS said Monday that star ski jumpers Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang, two coaches and a member of the service staff were charged under ethics and competition rules following an investigation into 'equipment manipulation.'
The allegations first emerged around the world championships in Norway in March and shook the tight-knit ski jumping community. Illegally modified suits could help athletes to fly further.
The charges come six months before the Winter Olympics. FIS said its ethics committee will rule on the charges and could impose bans or fines. It didn't say how soon a ruling is expected.
FIS said the investigation conducted 38 witness interviews and examined 88 pieces of evidence, and that no one else will be charged in the case.
FIS has already tightened up its rules on ski jump suits, something which caused a spate of disqualifications when athletes gathered for the first competition of the new season Saturday. FIS said that was down to technical issues and it didn't suspect 'ill intent.'

India are also eyeing the 2036 Olympic Games. Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) officials like president Chris Jenkins and chief executive Katie Sadlier have already flown down to India earlier this year, visiting multiple cities like in Gandhinagar, Bhubaneswar and New Delhi to meet with state and central government ministers and senior bureaucrats. They had also toured potential venues in Ahmedabad and Bhubaneswar, which was in the mix to host the Games back then. A team of officials from Commonwealth Sport, led by its Director of Games Darren Hall, had also recently made a visit to Ahmedabad to inspect the venues and meet Gujarat government officials. A decision on the host city for the 2030 Games will be made during the General Assembly of Commonwealth Sport in the last week of November in Glasgow. Ahmedabad is also in line to host other big-ticket events. The state of Gujarat reportedly has plans to host a slew of international multidisciplinary events and major continental, Commonwealth and world-level tournaments to gain hosting experience. Besides the Commonwealth Games, this wishlist also includes the 2027 women's volleyball world championship, the 2028 Asian swimming championship and 2028 World U20 Athletics Championships, the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship, the South Asian Games, World Beach Games and World Military Games, among others.

Sagar Dhankhar murder case: Supreme Court cancels bail of Olympic wrestler Sushil Kumar
The Supreme Court Wednesday cancelled the bail granted to Olympic wrestler Sushil Kumar, facing trial in the 2021 murder of wrestler Sagar Dhankhar in Delhi's Chhatrasal Stadium. The court also framed charges under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 142 (being a member of unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting armed with a deadly weapon) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object). The Delhi Police have accused Sushil Kumar of conspiring with his associates from Delhi and Haryana and asking them to attack Dhankhar.
