Where ESPN ranks Alabama basketball in way-too-early 2025-26 Top 25 rankings
With a national champion now officially decided, the attention across college basketball now begins to shift toward the 2025-26 season, one that is shaping up to be yet another strong one for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
This thought has already been echoed across college basketball as well, as Alabama currently projects to be one of the nation's top preseason teams in 2025-26, with USA TODAY Sports ranking the Crimson Tide at No. 6 nationally.
However, what about ESPN, who released their way-too-early Top 25 on Tuesday morning?
Well, ESPN currently has Alabama ranked as the nation's No. 11 team in their way-too-early rankings, which is the third-highest of any SEC team behind No. 6 Kentucky and No. 7 Arkansas. ESPN's Jeff Borzello also commented on the Crimson Tide entering the offseason, saying of their No. 11 ranking:
"We just assume Nate Oats will make the right decisions in the transfer portal this spring, considering the Crimson Tide have figured it out seemingly every offseason. Labaron Philon is an NBA decision to watch, but Aden Holloway and a healthy Latrell Wrightsell Jr. should form a solid backcourt. The Tide have also already landed three transfers: Noah Williamson (Bucknell), Taylor Bol Bowen (Florida State) and Jalil Bethea (Miami). They're not done yet, either."
Borzello also projects the Crimson Tide's starting lineup to consist of Aden Holloway, Latrell Wrightsell Jr., Derrion Reid, Jarin Stevenson, and Noah Williamson. The Crimson Tide are still awaiting decisions from both Reid and Stevenson as to if they will return to Alabama next season.

Pitcher NiJaree Canady signed her second seven-figure NIL deal with Texas Tech, keeping her on campus through her senior season. On Friday, Canady's manager, Derrick Shelby of Prestige Management, told ESPN about her new deal with Texas Tech's Matador Club collective. The Topeka, Kansas, native signed a historic deal in 2024 that included $1 million in direct payments and $50,000 for living expenses after transferring from Stanford. The details of her new deal were not disclosed. "Nija Canady is the most electrifying player in softball. She's box office and she goes out every day and competes," Shelby told ESPN. "The decision to stay at Tech was not difficult. This program has taken care of her. They have showed how much she is appreciated. The entire staff, her teammates, the school in general have been great. Tonight she is playing for a national championship and she is making history. Everything she wants from this game she can get here at Texas Tech." Canady is now in her third straight College World Series after leading Stanford to back-to-back appearances as a Cardinal. She posted a 0.97 ERA during the regular season, and has been a stalwart for the Red Raiders on the mound this WCWS. After retirement, Witten became the head coach at Liberty Christian, where Cooper and his older brother CJ attend. He led the program to back to back state championships in 2023 and 2024. The 6-foot and 3-inch, 210-pound younger Witten earned an offer from Clemson Wednesday after showcasing his skills at the Dabo Swinney football camp. Witten moves with ease and has run a 10.91-second 100 meters. His elite closing speed and football instincts make him one of the premiere defenders in his class. His offer list includes heavy hitters outside of Notre Dame, including Alabama, Michigan, Texas and his father's alma mater, Tennessee.
