The greatest tea in Zululand is almost here!
Dice (Do I Care Enough?) invites you to the 11th annual Tea on the Terrace on Saturday, 31 May at 10am at the Umfolozi Hotel Casino Convention Resort's Jabulani Dome.
Last year's event hosted 400 guests and raised R100 000.

This year's Bond Spectacular theme promises even more excitement, with celebrity guest speaker Rob Bentele, winner of Survivor SA: Island of Secrets.
Since outwitting, outplaying and outlasting his 2019 castaways, Rob recently returned from Australian Survivor: Australia vs the World. While he cannot divulge any 'island secrets', Rob, epitomises strength and has an overcoming spirit, corresponding with cancer survivors, which this fundraiser supports.
Get ready to step into a morning of glamour and intrigue, whether you arrive as a daring femme fatale or a classic Bond girl.
The event calls on corporates, churches, schools and friends to come together for a great cause.
Dice, the official charity arm of the Zululand Observer, uses funds raised to support cancer patients, survivors and their families.
Beneficiaries include The Butterfly Palliative Home – one of just four children's hospices in SA – and Thuthukani Special School, which supports children with intellectual disabilities.
Last year's donation is funding a room named 'Gemma's Nest' in honour of a brave young girl.
Tickets are R1 500 per table of 10.
As a hostess, you'll provide themed décor, crockery, and catering, while competing for the Ubuntu Floating Trophy. Expect light-hearted entertainment, networking, and meaningful moments over tea.
To book, email dice@zob.co.za or contact Kerry Krige at 035 7990500 or Karen Dalton at 083 6571488.
But hurry as tickets sell fast!

Greenside celebrity shares her life lived in poetry and trees

André Hattingh, once a Parktown North resident and now happily settled in Greenside, has released My Leaves Stay Green, a book of poetry she calls her: 'Biogratree'. It is a deeply personal collection where her love of trees becomes the thread that weaves together her life's story. Read more: Amazing opportunity up for grabs in high school poetry slam Best known as a stage and television actress, singer-songwriter, and dress designer, Hattingh's latest creation pairs her poems with artworks by award-winning artist Bronwen Findlay. The two share a friendship that began at school and has now blossomed into a creative partnership, with Findlay's paintings offering a visual echo of Hattingh's words. Her bond with trees began in Thorn Country, at the foothills of the Drakensberg, where she climbed their branches with her sisters and spoke to them as friends. Now, living in Johannesburg, which she fondly calls the 'City of Trees', her passion has only grown. During the pandemic, she began writing uplifting verses for friends on Facebook, a style her sister dubbed: 'Pop-up Poetree', instant poetry for a busy world. The encouragement she received led to the creation of this book, which is as much a feast for the eyes as it is for the soul. She now performs My Leaves Stay Green at venues across the country, blending poetry, music, and storytelling in a forty-minute show. The book is available directly from Hattingh for R350, with nationwide postage for an additional R100. For orders or performance bookings, email her at [email protected]. Picture: Facebook/Jackie van Staade In what was probably one of the most heartwarming moments of 2024, Tatjana Smith was tipped R100 for an incredible performance at the Paris Olympics by fan Jackie van Staade. Smith had just returned from the Olympics and was treated to a hero's welcome by the crowd assembled at OR Tambo on August 14, 2024. Amid the excitement, IOL Sport's Michael Sherman managed to capture the special moment between Smith and Van Staade. The video across the various social media platforms garnered over 1 million views, and it has inspired Van Staade to pay it forward.
