
1,35,969 engineering seats available in Karnataka's engineering colleges this year
This number is 5,313 fewer compared to last year . During 2024-25 academic year, a total of 1,41,009 seats, including 66,663 government quota seats, were available in 245 engineering colleges.
However, a senior official of Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) said, 'Some colleges have yet to upload the seat matrix and some colleges are yet to get the approval from the AICTE. After that, the total number of seats available may go up.'
Like every year, this year too, there are a large number of seats available in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) courses. This time, a total of 33,813 CSE seats are available, including 15,754 government quota seats. Last year a total of 35,013 CSE seats, including 16,280 government quota seats, were available. There are 18,492 seats in Electronics and Communication engineering, 8,538 Information Science and Engineering seats available this year.
A total of 2,75,677 students became eligible for counselling after the Common Entrance Test (CET-2025), among which 2,62,195 are for engineering stream against 2.74 lakh students last year .

VA Tech Wabag secures ₹118-crore repeat contract in Bahrain
Advt By , ETInfra Indian water technology firm, VA Tech Wabag , announced on Tuesday it has secured a repeat order worth ₹118 crore from the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning (MoW) in the Kingdom of Bahrain According to the press release, the five-year contract is for the continued Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the 40 MLD (Megalitres per Day) Madinat Salman Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and its associated Long Sea contract renewal builds on a long-standing relationship between the Chennai-based company and the Bahraini government. Wabag was initially awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the plant in October 2015, successfully completing the project in 2018. Multibagger stock: KEC International shares will be in focus of the stock market investors on Monday, 18 August 2025, after the company announced that they have secured a ₹ 1,402 crore order across its businesses, according to an exchange filing. The RPG Group-owned global infrastructure Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firm announced that they have secured transmission and distribution project order of a 765 kV transmission line from a 'marquee private player' based in India. As a part of the order, the company will supply towers and hardware and poles to the United States, according to an exchange filling. The company also announced that they have secured a repeat order for a high-rise residential project. KEC International also disclosed that the company also secured a supply order of various types of cables and conductors in India and the overseas market. "We are pleased with the order wins across our businesses.
