Kickboxing champion takes dead body to police station as he hands himself in for murder
Ex- kickboxing champion Moises Baute was arrested for murder after handing in a dead body to a police station. The Spaniard is a well-known figure in the combat sports scene across Europe.
But he's now made headlines for his alleged role in a vicious crime after turning up at the Tres de Mayo National police station in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. He arrived with a deceased body in the backseat of a car.
According to El Dia, the 40-year-old was arrested for murder alongside nightclub bouncer Jonathan Martin, who is said to be known as 'Johnny El Gordo'.
The pair are said to have transported the body, so far only known as 'Albertito', of a resident of El Cardonal in La Laguna.
The deceased's partner first reported his disappearance on Tuesday afternoon who told authorities that he had a pending appointment with Baute.
While a motive for his death has yet to be confirmed, according to Telecinco, police were trying to clarify whether the victim was subject to kidnapping and torture or whether a fight broke out between the three parties.
Other theories have been put forward from authorities as Pedro Fumero reported that "one of the hypotheses being considered by investigators from the Homicide Group is that the brutal assault and death are related to some kind of settling of scores over drug trafficking."
According to El Dia, the belief exists that the reason the pair decided to turn themselves was in order to be placed in a better position of possibly being handed reduced sentences.
Baute reportedly possesses a criminal record and was sentenced in two-and-a-half years in prison in 2023 for the coercion of a business owner.
His record also includes the theft narcotic substances from drug-traffickers as well as intimidation.
Amid his legal troubles, the kickboxer hasn't fought since 2021 and holds a record of 30 professional fights, 21 wins (10 via knockout) and nine losses. He was previously crowned world champion at organisations such as Enfusion and Superkombat.
His success on the regional fight scene saw him fight on the Road to ONE: Strikers Cage Championship 7 tournament card in June 2021 with the winner capturing a spot in the Road to ONE: Europe tournament.
After claiming a TKO victory against Christian Brorhilker in the semi-finals, Boute earned a decision victory against David Trallero in the finals to win the tournament.

The incident sparked a major melee involving 20-plus players and staff from both sides. Fifa is now poised to open a formal disciplinary probe into Enrique's behaviour. But world chiefs are UNABLE to impose a specific match sanction because PSG and Enrique will not play any games under their jurisdiction until the Champions League winners represent Europe in the InterContinental Cup in December. But midfielder Joao Neves will probably NOT be banned for his hair-tug red card on Marc Cucarella in the final moments of the match, under tournament-specific rules published by Fifa before a ball was kicked. The likely punishment for Enrique was predicted by senior Spanish referee Eduardo Gonzalez, who said: 'Of course, you can be sanctioned. 'There's a difference, the red and yellow cards in the tournament will expire. But FIFA can sanction him with time. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK 'So, if Luis Enrique is given a one-month ban, he would miss any games in that month. What's more, he wouldn't even be able to train the team.' He added: 'You can't touch an opponent's face. That's already a humiliating issue, that you have to go over and punch a player in the face when the game is over. Luis Enrique explains why he slapped Joao Pedro in shocking bust-up after Chelsea's Club World Cup win over PSG 'I don't look at names, I look at the action, and if we look at the action, it's punishable. 'Fifa is above Uefa. If Fifa tells you there are three matches it's in their competition, but since in this tournament the yellow and red cards ended, FIFA can, on the other hand, sanction players based on time.' The time-based penalty was handed out to former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez when he bit Italy's Giorgio Chiellini in Uruguay's World Cup group game at the 2014 finals. Suarez was initially banned from 'all football-related activities' for four months and banned for nine international matches, although an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport was partially successful allowing the striker to train with new club Barcelona. Fifa have yet to confirm whether disciplinary procedures have been opened against Enrique or anybody else involved. The PSG boss - who could now be banned for PSG's Super Cup meeting with Spurs in Udine on August 14 - attempted to downplay the incident in the aftermath of the defeat. He said: "At the end of the match, there was a situation that was completely avoidable for everyone. "My intention, as always, was to try to separate the players so that it didn't escalate. 'It was definitely avoidable; there was a lot of pressure. There were some problematic things coming from a lot of people. It's not the best way to attract attention." Enrique appeared to be trying to pin the blame on Blues chief Enzo Maresca as he added: 'I have seen Maresca. 'I saw he had pushed others and we had to separate all the players and I do not know where that pressure came from. "I have no problem expressing my feeling at the end of the game in a high level of pressure. It's very stressful for all of us. It is going to be impossible to avoid that. "Everybody was involved. It was not what was best and the end result of the pressure of the match. "But this is a situation we must all avoid. That goes without saying. My intention is that I wanted to separate the footballers, so the situations didn't become worse." Joao Pedro, who scored the third goal of Chelsea's first half blitz, suggested the flare-up had been sparked by PSG players making a bee-line for Brazilian youngster Andrey Santos. He said: 'I went to protect Andrey. I saw their players were crowding Andrey. Like a good Brazilian, I went to protect my friend. 'A lot of people were arriving and in that mess, I ended up getting shoved. It's part of it. "I don't need to say anything more about them because it's normal. Everyone wants to win the game and, in the end, I think they lost their heads. "But this is football, this has happened and now we need to enjoy it because we won the tournament, that's it. I don't want to talk too much about them because you know how it works. Football is this." Neves' red card, though, will not bring a ban unless Fifa rule it deserves an extra punishment. The regulations for the tournament state: 'Without prejudice to any other sanction that might result, any match suspension resulting from a player or official being sent off - as a result of a direct or an indirect red card - will not be carried over to another competition.'

Police deployed for PSG vs Chelsea Club World Cup final after Paris chaos
French police are being deployed in Paris ahead of the Club World Cup final after there were chaotic scenes following Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League success in June Police will be deployed 'en masse' in Paris ahead of Paris Saint Germain's Club World Cup final clash against Chelsea. The French side will look to add another trophy to their cabinet for the first time after claiming the Champions League earlier this year. But, while the tournament finale takes place in the United States at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium with the likes of Donald Trump expected to be in attendance, France's capital is braced for any celebrations that could occur closer to home. The city will be under tight police surveillance on Sunday with 11,5000 officers expected to be deployed in Paris and the surrounding areas. Police are making the preparations as the global final coincides with Bastille Day. The French national holiday is to be celebrated on Monday and law enforcement is said to be readying itself for the potential of both events creating public disturbances. Following PSG's Champions League win over Inter Milan, chaotic scenes unfolded in Paris in June. Two people tragically died in France in the night following the success as celebrations descended into clashes with the police. Tear gas was used as police faced off with the public and firefighters were forced to bring 148 fires under control as 46 vehicles were set ablaze. Thousands of people had gathered across the city before clashes took place. As early as half-time in PSG's final win, police had used a water cannon at the Champs-Élysées. Law enforcement claimed it was to "protect the Place de l'Étoile, as the barrier set up had been broken through by a large crowd of people not watching the match, pushing to come into contact with the police". A total of 426 people were arrested, including 417 in Paris. Amidst the tensions 13 police officers and 192 others were injured. In the US, PSG boss Luis Enrique is focused on bringing more success to the club. The Spaniard is not taking Chelsea lightly despite the west Londoners finishing fourth in the Premier League. Enrique said: "The Champions League was our first and it was very important: that was our main objective when we came to Paris last year. "And on Sunday we have the chance, with the last game of the season, to win another one, with the Club World Cup. But it is important that we are conscious of the difficulty of the game. "Enzo Maresca is a coach I love. I love the way he has of playing with the ball. They have a lot of good individual players but they also have a real sense of duty. They are a bit like our team. They are physically strong too. It will be a very even game and a very difficult one."
