British luxury watchmaker Bremont has unveiled two new jumping hour models in the 2025 Terra Nova lineup.
lineup. The Terra Nova Jumping Hour Bronze is available in 38mm , while the stainless steel reference measures in at 40.5mm in diameter.
, while the stainless steel reference measures in at in diameter. Both watches feature the same calibre BC634AH jumping hour movement , which offers 56 hours of power reserve.
, which offers 56 hours of power reserve. Similar to recent jumping hour releases, the bronze model does not feature a traditional dial or hands; instead, it opts for a closed-case design with three aperture windows.
The bronze model is priced at £4,900 on bracelet and £4,550 on leather strap, while the stainless steel model is £3,750 on bracelet and £3,500 on leather strap.
British luxury watchmaker Bremont is a relative latecomer compared to the industry's elder statesman, but it came out of the gates with an incredible backstory. In the 1990s, brothers Nick and Giles English were flying a 1930s biplane through France when engine trouble forced them to land. A farmer hid the brothers and their plane inside his barn so they could evade the local authorities. That farmer's name was Antoine Bremont.
We could write an entire article all about the English brothers and their high-flying misadventures, one of which resulted in the death of their father (and the near-death of Nick). But at some point, you may ask: What the heck does all this have to do with the new Terra Nova Jumping Hour watches? The answer is 'not much,' but we can't resist sharing a killer story when we come across one.
However, there is at least one good reason to share Bremont's backstory: to underscore the brand's evergreen pursuit of rugged adventure and technical innovation. Such a pursuit has led to various awards, iconic special editions, acclaimed military models, and some of the best modern field watches that money can buy.

With Bremont's latest release, the thrilling adventure continues, and so does the innovation. Not only are the new Terra Novas aesthetically bold, but they're the brand's first watches to employ a Jumping Hour complication (and an exclusive one at that). As a result, both models eschew traditional layouts for numeric apertures, which peer through the minimalist display and change numerals at the top of every hour. If you're looking for something bold and unique, you've certainly found it here.
Bremont has launched both limited and non-limited versions of the new Terra Nova Jumping Hour. The limited edition model draws inspiration from military 'trench watches' of the early 20th century, and joins the brand's Terra Nova Bronze series (introduced earlier this year). With cupro-aluminium bronze construction and a 38mm case size comes robust and compact wearability. The Jumping Hour movement — created exclusively with Sellita — is cleverly concealed under a 'montre à guichet' style display to render a jarring visual impression. All 100 pieces sold out at this year's Watches & Wonders.

The non-limited variant is similarly extraordinary and even a bit sleeker by design. It swaps in high-grade steel case construction, measures 40.5mm in size, and combines a sweeping seconds hand with numeric apertures on a black display. At first glance, one might think they're looking at a modern smartwatch, only to realise that the piece is making expert use of blank space. A left-to-right time display drives home the singular allure, whilst Super-LumiNova brings all the details to life under dark conditions. And so the field watch concept evolves with effortless style and legibility.
Bremont CEO Davide Cerrato commented, 'I've always loved the Jumping Hour complication. It's quite rare and something of a connoisseur's complication. It's complex to realise but simple in its appearance. It also mixes digital and analogue references, which I love, and almost mirrors my own life's journey. It's mechanical at heart but digital in its display – born analogue but having to learn and grow with digital.'

As Cerrato implies, the Jumping Hour complication does indeed carry an enduring backstory. Developed in the 19th century, it took off during the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 1930s and remains coveted by collectors to this day. Thanks to a sophisticated system of gears and springs, the hour disc 'jumps' to the next numeral whenever the minute hand completes a full revolution. For the Terra Nova Jumping Hour watches, a high-torque calibre delivers accuracy to the tune of 1/10 second.
A stunning evolution of Bremont's rugged field watch, the Terra Nova Jumping Hour and its namesake complication were developed exclusively with Sellita. The limited edition bronze version is sold out, while the non-limited version will be available starting 2 June 2025. Get on it.

Old Fitzgerald Keeps It Classy With New ‘7-Year Bottled in Bond' Bourbon

Old Fitzgerald bourbon is a history lesson unto itself, and one can sense as much just by scoping the timeless bottle design. The label stayed the course through Prohibition and eventually took their operation to the famous Stitzel-Weller Distillery, which shuttered in 1992. Production migrated over to Bernheim Distillery and then again to the current owner, Heaven Hill. Limited supply and skyrocketing price points have kept the majority of these expressions out of reach, but that all changes with a new signature statement. Introducing Old Fitzgerald's 7-Year-Old Bottled-in-Bond Straight Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey. Over the last decade, Heaven Hill have been keeping Old Fitz alive with a certain degree of temperance (pun intended). However, don't take that to mean the core distillate isn't readily accessible to whiskey lovers. In addition to the affordable Old Fitzgerald Prime, we have the Larceny bourbon range, which likewise uses the same core mashbill of 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley. At the higher end of the spectrum is the acclaimed Decanter Series, a limited edition release that tends to sell out quickly and fetch meteoric prices on the secondhand market. With 7-Year-Old Bottled-in-Bond, an exciting new chapter unfolds in the long and storied history of Old Fitz. Offered at a suggested retail price of US$59.99 (though prices have already increased due to limited supply), the wheated bourbon walks the line between bottom-shelf Prime and the tippy-top-shelf Decanter Series. The liquid delivers a bright copper colour and a welcoming nose of graham cracker and honey. Tasting notes include fresh bread, brown sugar, cinnamon, apricot, and baking spice, which give way to oak at the finish. It's bottled at 100 proof and that's just enough to dial up the flavour without burning your throat on the way down. The use of wheat means one can expect a relatively smooth ride, in general. Old Fitzgerald's 7-Year-Old Bottled-In-Bond | Image: Supplied The launch of 7-Year-Old Bottled-in-Bond doubles as a soft reboot for Old Fitz, complete with their first dedicated website. Between that and various social media campaigns, it's clear that Heaven Hill is committed to preserving the legacy of this historic label. Driving home the heritage vibe is an iconic bottle design that holds the past closely to its heart. 'Seven years proved to be a sweet spot for a Whiskey that already transcends expectations for a wheated Bourbon,' said Master Distiller Conor O'Driscoll of the latest release. While more readily available than the Decanter Series, the new expression appears to be selling out fast. If you can find a bottle for around US$80 or less, don't hesitate to pull the trigger.

Desmo450 MX: Ducati's ‘First-Ever' Motocross Bike Slated for September Debut

The new motocross offering is due for launch in September 2025 with a price tag of AUD$16,300 . with a price tag of . Desmo450 MX is the first model in a complete range of specialist off-road bikes . . Highlights include an off-road spec suspension and a lightweight frame with the Desmodromic engine. As if the Multistrada and the Desert X were not enough to satiate off-road enthusiasts, Ducati has now entered its first proper motocross bike into production. The Desmo450 MX is the motorcycle brand's latest foray into the cross-performance market, offering improved suspension, a lightweight frame and, by the looks of the first images, a heck of a lot of fun. Most importantly, the Ducati Desmo450 MX is set to hit showrooms later this year, and it won't cost as much as you'd think. Slated for a September 2025 release and priced at a cursory AUD$16,300, the Desmo450 MX marks a new frontier for Ducati; one typified by reinvention. A cursory glance gives a clue as to how off-road-focused the Desmo450 MX really is, and the initial reports are promising. Desmo450 MX: Ducati's 'First-Ever' Motocross Bike | Image: Ducati Desmo450 MX Powertrain Ducati revealed that the new motocross bike has been developed with World Motocross Champion Tony Cairoli and Italian champion Alessandro Lupino, in order to provide the most authentic trail-faring experience. The result is a 449.6 cc Ducati single-cylinder engine with Desmodromic distribution, where the powertrain has been tuned for off-road performance, allowing riders to make use of every gear ratio. The trade-off of this is that the power delivery has been prioritised for lower revs, which means this may not be a tarmac screamer like the typical Ducati fare that we are used to, but something more sinister. That being said, Ducati claims that the Desmo450 MX will still rev upto 11,900 rpm, which is nothing to sneeze at. 'We looked around, searching for the important unique features of our corporate culture and finding what I believe characterises Ducati like perhaps no other company: the closeness between the world of racing and that of production motorcycles,' Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali said. 'And discovering, at the same time, that we have an incredible resource in-house in the form of many off-road enthusiasts in the various departments. All this has allowed us to present the Desmo450 MX: an easy and high-performance bike, for amateurs and professionals alike.' Desmo450 MX: Ducati's 'First-Ever' Motocross Bike | Image: Ducati Weight is also the mantra for the Desmo450 MX, where its lightweight aluminium frame, whihc measures in at 104.8 kgs, has been designed to have the least possible number of welds. Further, Ducati claims that this is the first motocross bike in the world equipped with a Traction Control capable of precisely defining actual rear wheel slippage. Of course, a Ducati will not be complete without a Akrapovič titanium slip-on silencer, with the robust suspension consisting of a 49mm Showa upside-down fork at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear. Brake power comes courtesy of Brembo, and the gearbox is a six-speed unit with a quick shifter. Desmo450 MX: Ducati's 'First-Ever' Motocross Bike | Image: Ducati Desmo450 MX Style Styling-wise, Ducati hasn't strayed too far from the beaten path. The latest Desmo450 MX keeps the angular family DNA that the brand has become synonymous with, and it's not hard to see hints of the flagship Panigale amidst those sharp lines. More of the detail-oriented side, you can expect to find Takasago Excel rims laced with Alpina spokes being wrapped around Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tyres. At first glance, the Desmo450 MX does cut an imposing figure. Compared to the previous off-road-focused machines from Ducati, this is a far more serious product, designed with the singular focus of decimating dirt trails. Make no mistake, this is not a lifestyle bike, but rather a purposeful machine designed with a clean sheet of paper, which is a huge advantage when you take into account Ducati's trademark pomp and glamour. It might be a new segment for Ducati, but the brand has kept its core appeal well entrenched in this bike. The Ducati Desmo450 MX will arrive at selected European dealerships starting from June 2025. According to the brand, Distribution will extend to North America in July, and then to the rest of the world, with Australia slated for a September release. The new motocross bike will be priced at AUD$16,300 ride-away.
