BusinessWire India
Gurugram (Haryana) [India], April 28: PVR INOX, India's largest and most admired multiplex chain, has announced the opening of its newest destination for movie lovers -- a premium 6-screen cinema at ELAN MIRACLE, Sector-84. Poised to become a social and entertainment hotspot, this launch marks PVR INOX's 13th location in Gurugram, increasing its screen count in the city to an impressive 68.
Located strategically along the bustling Dwarka Expressway, the new property is more than just a multiplex -- it's an immersive lifestyle experience. As part of ELAN MIRACLE's sprawling 7-acre retail hub, the cinema is in stellar company with over 100 premium brands, including McDonald's, Haldiram's, Zudio, Fab India, Levi's, and more. With major players like MIA by Tanishq and SODHI's Hypermarket set to join soon, the area is on track to become Gurugram's next big entertainment and shopping magnet.
Inside the theatre, moviegoers can expect 762 plush seats, including 67 ultra-comfy recliners, spread across sleek, high-tech auditoriums fitted with 2K projection, Next Gen 3D, and Dolby 7.1 surround sound. From big-screen blockbusters to indie gems, every film is delivered with crystal-clear visuals and world-class audio.
One of the key highlights of the property is 'Cine Cafe' -- an all-new, signature concept that debuts at this location. It is a cozy cinema lounge meets coffee bar -- a relaxed social space where guests can sip, snack, and socialize before or after the film.
"With our newest multiplex at ELAN MIRACLE, we're not just adding screens -- we're shaping experiences," said Ajay Bijli, Managing Director, PVR INOX Ltd. "Cinema is about connection, community, and shared emotion. This property reflects that ethos -- a beautifully designed, culturally rooted entertainment hub for a fast-growing city. Created with thoughtfully designed entertainment elements that blend convenience and cinematic excellence, ELAN MIRACLE offers that synergy -- a vibrant, modern environment that complements our vision for the future of cinema."
"The launch of PVR Cinemas at ELAN MIRACLE Mall is an important milestone in our vision to create renowned lifestyle destinations that deliver immersive, premium entertainment in alongside retail," said Ravish Kapoor, Managing Director, ELAN GROUP. "This premium six-screen multiplex, combined with curated dining and entertainment zones, further reinforces ELAN MIRACLE's position as the entertainment hub of Dwarka Expressway. Box office: Coolie (Hindi) collects Rs 18.50 crore in 4 days; Rajinikanth & Lokesh Kanagaraj film scores average results

The Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj film, Coolie: The Powerhouse, has scored average results in its opening weekend in Hindi, faring better than the pre-release expectations. The actioner has collected Rs 18.50 crore over its four day run, and the film stayed consistent around the Rs 4.00 crore mark though the weekend. Coolie opened at Rs 4.25 crore on Thursday, followed by a spike to Rs 6.00 crore on Friday, before settling in at Rs 4.00 crore and Rs 4.25 crore on Saturday and Sunday. The national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis - have collected Rs 8.30 crore over the four day period, contributing 47 percent to the total business. The numbers are decent in Hindi because Coolie had no expectations, however, the trend through four-day period is not encouraging indicating a not-so-strong hold in business on Monday. Coolie will be looking at a lifetime total in the range of Rs 35 crore to Rs 40 crore, as it has one more week of clean run before facing competition from Param Sundari. The film will end up being the second highest grossing Tamil film dubbed in Hindi after 2.0, surpassing films like Robot, Kabali, Vikram, and Leo among others. Having said that, with a start of Rs 4.25 crore, the Rajinikanth starrer could have hit a bigger number in Hindi, but the mixed reports did no good to the theatrical prospects. Here's a look at day wise collections of Coolie (Hindi) Thursday: Rs 4.25 crore Friday: Rs 6.00 crore Saturday: Rs 4.00 crore Sunday: Rs 4.25 crore Total: Rs 18.50 crore Coolie faced competition from War 2 in Hindi markets, and North India is the only area where the Rajinikanth starrer was trailing behind the YRF Spy Universe film, as it dominated the former in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. Box Office: War 2 (Hindi) scores underwhelming results in extended opening weekend; Hrithik – NTR film nets Rs 125 crore in 4 days

The Hrithik Roshan and NTR led War 2 has seen sub-par results in its extended opening weekend as the Ayan Mukerji directorial has collected Rs 125 crore over the four-day run in Hindi. The YRF Spy Universe film opened below expectations at Rs 28 crore on a working Thursday, but the 55 percent spike to Rs 45 crore on Independence Day gave some hope. However, the film underperformed with Rs 26 crore each on Saturday and Sunday. Through the weekend, War 2 has collected Rs 60 crore in the top 3 national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis – contributing about 48 percent to the total business. The remaining business came in from the non-national chains and single screens. War 2 just couldn't gain any momentum over the weekend, and that's a result of the not-so-good audience word of mouth. The film has done the best business in Hindi, as the Telugu version stayed low with 4-day nett business estimated to be around the Rs 42 crore mark. The all India weekend nett falls in the vicinity of Rs 170 crore, and in an ideal world, this should have been done in 2 days flat. War 2 primarily got hit due to multiple factors – ranging from assets not landing right, to the content not leaving a mark – but one must appreciate the production house, Yash Raj Films, as also the leading man Hrithik Roshan for not opting for the malpractices of self-buying tickets to safeguard the opening weekend. In today's world, it's easy to buy tickets in advance as also through the day for managing the perception, but the team of War 2 has stayed away from these gimmicks, accepting the fate with grace. War 2 (Hindi) Opening Weekend Box Office Thursday: Rs 28 crore Friday: Rs 45 crore Saturday: Rs 26 crore Sunday: Rs 26 crore (Estimates) Total: Rs 125 crore
