Report: Jets, Morgan Moses remain in talks ahead of free agency
While at one point the opposite seemed true, offensive lineman Morgan Moses might continue his current stay with the New York Jets.
According to ESPN, Moses and the team are still trying to work on a new contract prior to the free agent market opening on Monday:
This turn for the team and 33-year-old changes things up from previous reports. Those said it "isn't expected" that Moses would return to New York.
The deal is not yet done, but ESPN's update indicates it is possible.
Moses' deal was worth $15 million for the 2024 season.
Along with Moses, veteran tackle Tyron Smith also signed a one-year contract in New York last offseason. The two veterans were the opening-day starters for the Jets which allowed the team to bring first-round rookie Olu Fashanu along slowly during his rookie season.
However, Fashanu did eventually find himself put into the lineup because of injury and down the stretch he thrived.
Fashanu had five-straight starts in the second half of the season.During that spell, Fashanu earned his best Pro Football Focus grade of the season in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals, a 75.7 overall. In addition, the outlet's metrics did not grade him lower than a 63.3 mark following that Cardinals outing.
In his own right, Moses earned a solid 63.3 overall mark from PFF in 14 games played. On top of that, he played through injury.
Jets Wire will continue to provide updates on the team throughout the 2025 NFL offseason.

Caleb Williams' performance linked to Bears WRs' ability to replace Keenan Allen's 121 targets
Caleb Williams' performance linked to Bears WRs' ability to replace Keenan Allen's 121 targets originally appeared on The Sporting News Caleb Williams enters the 2025 season with clear goals: achieving a 70% pass completion rate and throwing for 4,000 yards. He is determined to reach these milestones, which will, in turn, support his wide receivers, particularly Rome Odunze and Olamide Zaccheaus, in filling the void left by Keenan Allen's departure. Allen's 2024 season with the Bears was disappointing, but his departure undeniably leaves a gap, especially given his veteran experience. Williams' success this season is closely linked to the Bears wide receivers' ability to compensate for the 121 targets Allen recorded last year. On Sunday's edition of SportsCenter, ESPN's Courtney Cronin highlighted the encouraging signs emerging from Bears training camp. Odunze and Zaccheaus have stood out, delivering impressive performances in recent practices. Odunze, the ninth pick from last year and part of the same draft class as Williams, is quickly emerging as the team's new No. 1 receiver. Meanwhile, Zaccheaus has made a significant impact after reviving his career last season with the Washington Commanders. Addressing the challenge ahead, SportsCenter host Shae Cornette pointed out that the wide receivers face the daunting task of making up for the 121 targets that Allen received last season. Cornette emphasized the magnitude of this responsibility but also noted, "it sounds like they're on their way to doing that." In his rookie season, Odunze had 54 receptions for 734 yards and three touchdowns across 17 games. Meanwhile, Zaccheaus recorded 45 catches for 506 yards and three touchdowns over the same span, all while catching passes from the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year, Jayden Daniels.

Golden State Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga reportedly back in contract talks
With the new NBA season slowly starting to appear on the horizon, the Golden State Warriors' front office will likely feel some level of pressure to finally reach a contract agreement with Jonathan Kuminga and end the current stalemate. Furthermore, the front office would likely want to start adding some new faces to the roster before the start of training camp. According to ESPN's Anthony Slater, conversations between the Warriors and Kuminga's representation have been renewed in recent days. Nevertheless, there's still no guarantee that those discussions will result in an agreement between the Warriors and their former lottery pick. 'Well, there's been renewed conversations between the two sides,' Anthony Slater said via a recent episode of ESPN's 'NBA Today.' 'There's dialogue, but as you all know, talking doesn't necessarily equal movement. They've shared contract concepts and opinions about the whole thing between each other this last week, dating back to last weekend. Kuminga wants more of a player-friendly deal, more of a signal that he's a building block, not a trade asset.' Sooner or later, Kuminga and the Warriors will need to find a middle ground. Whether that means Golden State offers him a contract that fulfils some of his current wishes, they move him in a sign-and-trade or he signs his qualifying offer, remains to be seen. But the current stalemate has hung over the franchise all summer. There has to be an inflection point for the franchise, so they can move forward with their preparations for next season. The hope, of course, is that Kuminga re-signs with the Warriors and can make an impact next season. But after a summer of testing the waters elsewhere, his long-term tenure in the Bay Area is far from guaranteed. This post originally appeared on Warriors Wire! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter!
