‘Buzzing' Alessia Russo left wanting more by Arsenal's Champions League success
The triumph also guarantees Arsenal a direct place in next season's Champions League league phase – alongside Women's Super League winners Chelsea – after becoming the first team in history to reach the final from qualifying round one.
'I'm absolutely buzzing,' said Russo, after substitute Stina Blackstenius' 74th-minute strike proved enough to inspire the underdogs to victory over a Barca side that had conquered Europe in 2021, 2023 and 2024.

'I can't really put it into words, it just feels bloody amazing. It feels surreal right now, but I just had so much belief going into this game. We all did. We didn't really want to say it too much, but we all kind of had this feeling.
'We knew we could and we just had to go and deliver.'
The result means Arsenal will also represent Europe in the inaugural FIFA Women's Champions Cup next year, entering as automatic semi-finalists.
And while it is the brilliant culmination of a hard-fought campaign – and seven-month journey under boss Renee Slegers – Russo also sees it as just a first step.
'I feel like that massively,' she said. 'When you win things, you want to win things even more, and also you know you're good enough to do it.
'I think it was important to win for many reasons, but now we want to win more. We want to go back and start next year strong. We want to compete domestically more so than we did this year, and we want to be back winning this trophy again.'
The returning champions will celebrate their title on Monday alongside 10,000 fans in Armoury Square outside the Emirates Stadium in London, where the trophy lift will take place at around 1140 in the morning.

It is a quick turnaround ahead of the next international window, beginning for Russo and England with Friday's Nations League meeting with Portugal at Wembley.
Arsenal's victory is a testament to resilience and risk. Forward Chloe Kelly revealed after the triumph that she had nearly taken a break from football after finding herself in 'a dark place' at Manchester City before joining the Gunners on loan in January.
And two days before teeing up Blackstenius' winner in the final, England forward and second-half substitute Beth Mead, writing for the Players' Tribune, penned a heartfelt tribute to her mother, June, who died from ovarian cancer in 2023.
Then there is the rise of former assistant Slegers, who was appointed as the permanent head coach in January after serving on an interim basis since October, no doubt beating out more proven candidates for one of the most coveted jobs in women's football.
'It means so much, for everyone who has built towards this across many years,' said the 36-year-old boss. 'But it also means so much for the future, because it motivates people, it motivates us, and it shows what we are capable of.
'There's even more in the group. The strength of this team has been to be in the present, and trying to become better every single day. And of course if you are part of Arsenal and win trophies, that's what builds bonds.'

Jamie Carragher outlines Liverpool's biggest concern in Premier League title race
Jamie Carragher has given his predictions for the Premier League title race this season and he has some concerns over Arne Slot's Liverpool squad after a busy transfer window Liverpool have strengthened their squad this summer, but are still two players short and will face a tougher challenge in the Premier League this season. That's the opinion of Jamie Carragher, who has issued a warning to the defending champions. Arne Slot 's side kicked off their title defence with a thrilling but unconvincing 4-2 win over Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday night. While there was a promising performance from new striker Hugo Ekitike, the defence was vulnerable and it took two late goals to secure the points. The Reds have spent over £300million on players in the summer transfer window with a huge turnover being overseen by Slot. They have added Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni, among others, yet Carragher has spotted a few worrying signs. Asked on Sky Sports which side is best placed to challenge Liverpool for the title, Carragher replied: 'I'd probably say Arsenal as a whole, as a club, as a team, but I've just got Pep Guardiola in the back of my mind. 'He just doesn't not win. When he doesn't win a league title, I don't think he's gone two years without winning a league title. He's such a special manager, you think is he going to conjure something up? 'I'm also thinking 'is this City squad good enough to go and win the league right now?' The squad he had last season he couldn't find something to fix it and we always expect him to do that, so I'd probably just edge for Arsenal.' He added: 'There's no doubt that the [Liverpool] squad is much stronger than it was last season. We could see that in the teams that the manager picked – he didn't have full confidence in certain players. He's rectified that in terms of the players that he's brought in. 'But I envisage a much tighter title [race] this season, because I think Liverpool will be better, and I think they will maybe get more points than they got because they dropped off towards the end, but I think Manchester City and Arsenal will be a lot stronger too. 'Those two have been the two who have battled it out for the Premier League title in the past few seasons. Last season they dropped off and Liverpool took full advantage of that, but I expect them to be a lot stronger.' Asked about the large turnover of players, Carragher said: 'That is the worry and Liverpool haven't looked themselves in pre-season. It might sound strange, but Liverpool still need more players because of those who have gone out. 'You think of the amount of forwards they had last season, they've lost three and brought one in. So they need at least one more forward and one defender and that is a formidable squad that will look to attack the Premier League and Champions League.' Liverpool are in negotiations to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi and could return to test Newcastle 's resolve over Alexander Isak. The Reds saw a bid of £110m plus £10m in add-ons rejected earlier this month, but Isak is refusing to play for the Magpies in the hope of forcing through a transfer.
