Youth worker John Davidson experienced one of his proudest moments in July 2019 when he received an MBE from Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Holyrood. However, instead of the typical quiet word of gratitude, John unexpectedly exclaimed: "F*** the Queen!".
John is afflicted with a severe form of Tourette's Syndrome – a neurological disorder that can lead to tics and involuntary vocalisations such as coughing or whistling, or in John's case, abrupt eruptions of swear words.
"The tic urge often comes when I'm anxious, stressed or tired," he shared with The Times, "and then it's an exhausting mental battle telling myself, 'John, that's the absolute worst thing you could do in this moment,' and then trying not to do it."

The intensity of the occasion began to impact John almost immediately upon his arrival at Holyrood Palace. During a standard security inspection, as officers used mirrors to check beneath his car for explosives, John couldn't suppress his condition and shouted: "A bomb! I've got a f***ing bomb!".
He also blurted out: "I'm a paedo!" while traversing one of the Palace's tapestry-adorned hallways, yet Her Majesty remained unfazed. John remembered: "Her Majesty was very kind. She was as calm and assured as my granny. She was very good about it.", reports the Mirror.
John first captured the nation's attention in 1989 through the BBC TV documentary 'John's Not Mad', which significantly raised public awareness of Tourette's syndrome, albeit with mixed consequences, as The Times highlighted that it sparked "nationwide playground mocking campaigns."
Following the broadcast, John had an unsettling encounter when a band of religious zealots, having watched the documentary, showed up at his doorstep with crucifixes, intent on performing an "exorcise the demon" ritual they believed was necessary due to his involuntary vocal outbursts.
Reflecting on that incident, John remembered being preoccupied with his pet rabbit Snowy and candidly recounted telling the intruders: "Look, I need to deal with my rabbit so will you just f*** off?" clarifying that his blunt response was born out of annoyance rather than his condition.
Despite some misguided reactions from the public, John has since been recognised as a "nationally known ambassador for the condition", dedicating himself to advocacy and education.
Through his involvement with organisations like Tourette Scotland and Tourettes Action, he has engaged with schools, delivered lectures, and facilitated workshops to share his experiences of living with Tourette syndrome.
His commitment to outreach and support for others with the condition led to a momentous accolade from The Queen. Reflecting on receiving the MBE, John expressed it as "The MBE was the proudest moment of my life," marvelling at how he went from struggling with life to making a difference and gaining recognition for his efforts.
John's contributions have been acknowledged with both a book and a fresh documentary film, aptly titled "I Swear."
His initial encounter with the film's director, Kirk Jones, was memorable for yet another of his impulsive exclamations; while making the director a cup of tea, he blurted out: "I used spunk for milk."

Bonnie Blue and 'nervous' Ibiza Final Boss meet up as she makes wild confession

Bonnie Blue has flown over to the Spanish party island to meet viral raver Ibiza Final Boss after reaching out to him on Instagram and she has now revealed exactly what the encounter was like. Ibiza Final Boss has met up with controversial adult star Bonnie Blue after she flew out to Ibiza for a surprise visit. Geordie raver Jack Kay, who became an internet sensation overnight thanks to his distinctive haircut, had an awkward exchange with the sex star as he nervously hugged her during the unexpected meet up. ‌ Bonnie Blue, who has been booted off OnlyFans for her extreme content, is known to fly out to party hot spots to find men to sleep with and film for her work. Known for her rage-bait tactics, the 26-year-old was quick to jump on the opportunity to meet Jack, also 26, who had just launched his own single bragging:" Your bird listens to the Ibiza Final Boss ". ‌ The cringe clip shows Jack with his arm around Bonnie as he turns his head away from her. Another moment shows the duo awkwardly making conversation, standing noticeably far away from each other. ‌ Following their painful encounter, Bonnie said in a now-deleted clip: "It was my shortest video yet. I was shocked how nervous he was." The bizarre meet up comes after Bonnie sparked fury from Jack's followers when she sent him a cheeky message over the weekend, following reports that his girlfriend had dumped him over his partying ways, the Mirror reports. Making the most of his viral fame, the Ibiza Final Boss posted a video of him in the Spanish party island with the caption: "The final boss can't be slayed… your misses on the other hand? Her levels been completed". Bonnie was seemingly desperate to also profit off of Jack's viral moment as she replied to his post with a suggestive eyes emoji. Jack's fans flooded the comments warning him to 'stay away' from the star, but it seems he didn't listen. ‌ Bonnie's surprise visit comes after reports that Jack's love life is in trouble. His glamorous girlfriend Alisha Cook reportedly dumped him on his first Ibiza trip, just days before he went viral. ‌ The Newcastle lad is now said to be fighting to save his relationship with the model and debt collector from Co Durham. Alisha was allegedly so angry with her boyfriend's antics in Ibiza that she broke up with him before videos of his haircut made him go viral. The couple have reportedly worked things out since, but a friend of Jack's warned he was 'skating on thin ice' over his party lifestyle. ‌ They told the Daily Mail: "Alisha called it off when Jack went to Ibiza with the lads. They'd been together for almost a year and he was living at her place but things hadn't been right for months. "His car is still on her drive, she threw all his clothes in the back of it. She doesn't want him around anymore. She's had inklings that something was not right for a while. She just wants to wash her hands of him. Alisha is so beautiful. No one is quite sure what she saw in him." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. However, it appears Alisha had a quick change of heart as she's now publicly declared herself as Jack's girlfriend since he rose to internet stardom. In a series of TikTok videos captioned: "POV: ya boyfriend's now known as Ibiza Final Boss," Alisha is seen cosying up to Jack, including clips of him kissing her cheek and the two of them partying together. However, the video has since been made private and Alisha is yet to speak out following the video of Jack and Bonnie.
