First Korean winner of a Tony award on his Broadway musical and being single
Hue Park, co-writer of the multi-Tony Award-winning musical Maybe Happy Ending, is living through whirlwind days just weeks after making history as the first Korean national to win Broadway's highest honour.
Park describes seeing his two Tony trophies – for best original score and best book of a musical – sitting on his New York kitchen table as surreal, and a daily reminder of the responsibility he now carries.
'I haven't found a proper place for them, so I just put them on the table. I had breakfast looking at them. It's still strange to me that these symbolic trophies are now in my humble home,' Park says.
Maybe Happy Ending is a musical about two Helperbots in near-future Seoul who discover fireflies, love and the meaning of goodbye. It was first staged in Korea in 2016 and made its Broadway debut in November 2024. In total, it scooped six prizes at the 2025 Tony Awards, held earlier this month.

Trio of jockeys taken to hospital following horror incident at Happy Valley

Hewitson was speared into the turf when $3 favourite Seasons Wit came down around 75m from the line after fracturing his left fore fetlock, with the South African jockey suffering a fractured wrist and a suspected fractured ankle. Seasons Wit fell in front of Eternal Fortune under Chau and Teetan's mount, Watch This One, and while both gallopers managed to keep their feet, Chau and Teetan also fell. In a club statement, it was reported that Hewitson and Chau were conscious following the incident and taken to hospital for further medical examination. Teetan limped away from the pile-up and was later stood down from his remaining rides before going to hospital for precautionary scans. Superb Capitalist and Matthew Chadwick get up late to win. The club confirmed imaging of Chau 'has not identified any injuries' and Teetan 'has no identified serious injuries'. Hewitson and Chau remained under observation overnight. The Jamie Richards-trained Seasons Wit could not be saved and was humanely euthanised, while the Pierre Ng Pang-chi-trained Watch This One and Danny Shum Chap-shing's Eternal Fortune were taken to the equine hospital for further examination. Chinese boy runs back to dining table to grab food during earthquake, amusing many online
A hungry Chinese boy has become a humorous internet hit after he ran back to grab food from a table during a 4.3-magnitude earthquake as the rest of his family fled in fear. The unidentified boy went viral after video footage showed him returning to scoff some food before hurrying out at the behest of his father, carrying a dish of stir-fried onions, snow peas and pork and a bowl of rice. Despite his father's frantic shouts to run, the boy was determined to take some more mouthfuls of food and grab some dishes.
