Houston lands massive commitment from four-star ATH Keisean Henderson
The Houston Cougars have pulled off a massive win on the recruiting trail, landing one of the top overall recruits in the class of 2026.
Spring (Texas) Legacy School of Sports Sciences four-star athlete Keisean Henderson has made the decision to commit to his hometown program.

Henderson, 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, has pledged to the Cougars to play quarterback. In his sophomore season, Henderson accounted for 1,574 yards and 21 touchdowns to just three interceptions. He completed 63-percent of his passes.
"Just the feeling of being at home and the connections with the people at Houston just makes it feel even more at home," Houston said of his decision.
Houston, a second year Big 12 conference member, is among the programs trending up in the country. With the new staff in Houston under Willie Fritz, Henderson felt an all out pour of support in his recruitment.
"They basically just said that I'm their front runner guy. I'm the guy that they're coming after the hardest. They want to build the program around me and keep me in Houston. They also want bring guys in that they know can play as well with me and just use me as a focal point to all the guys that know me personally and have offers from Houston to just bring a bigger like picture to recruiting the city."

The most previous visit for Henderson to Houston, earlier this month, was the final piece of his decision.
"We went and saw the actual campus, beause I usually go and I just see the football facilities. So I brought all my family and we saw the business facilities, talked to like business administrative staff, and everybody around the business side of the school. We talked to the lead athletic director, the, the academic director, really all of the big name people on campus is who we spent our day around mostly. I metCase Keenum and Andre Ware too. It was an eye-opener to see more than just the football side of things."
Henderson holds over 25 offers including LSU, Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M, SMU, Oregon, Penn State, Oklahoma, and TCU, among others.
Houston is ranked as the No. 32 overall prospect in the 2026 Rivals250. He is also the No. 2 prospect in the state of Texas.

Trinity Christian's Hopkins, Clay-Battelle's Parker named to Class A baseball all-state first-team
MORGANTOWN – In a season riddled with injuries and questions, the East Hardy High School baseball team completed a remarkable run through the 2025 postseason, all the way to the Class A state championship, where they defeated Madonna 10-7 in extra innings to capture the title. One key piece of the Cougars' puzzle was junior infielder Evan Hamilton, who was selected to captain the WVSWA Class A baseball all-state first team after a solid 2025 campaign that culminated in that championship. Hamilton batted .451 with 37 hits and 21 RBI with eight doubles, six triples, and four home runs. He also stole 19 bases and scored 35 runs. Hamilton is joined by his teammate Garrett VanMeter, a sophomore, who occupies a first-team utility position after batting .508 with 30 hits, seven doubles, four home runs, and 23 RBI. The runners-up for the Class A championship, Madonna, who were at the top of the rankings for most of the season, landed a trio of players on the first team in Pitcher Reed Wilharm, infielder David Connors, and outfielder Jacob Lazear. Wilharm went 8-1 in 2025 with an outstanding 0.41 ERA and 83 strikeouts. He threw two no-hitters and one perfect game in 51.1 innings. Connors batted .541 with 12 doubles, three home runs, and 35 RBI while Lazear was .437 at the plate with ten doubles, four triples, and 25 RBI. Wilharm is joined by hurlers Kason Angel of Cameron and Jaxon Drennen of Tygarts Valley. Angel held a 1.69 ERA through 35 innings with 69 strikeouts, while Drennen threw 42 innings with 97 strikeouts and a 0.49 ERA. The final three infielders listed are Gilmer County's Kolten Holbert, Wahama's Eli Rickard, and Ryan Parker of Clay-Battelle. Holbert batted .432 with a .558 on-base percentage and 25 stolen bases. Rickard earned 44 hits at a .454 clip, with nine doubles, 25 RBI, and 29 runs scored. Parker led the Cee Bees with a .607 average, 12 doubles, 18 runs, and 17 RBI. Two catchers were named to the first team, with Cam Gerace of Man and Parker Hopkins of Trinity Christian occupying the spots. Gerace batted .365 and was a wall defensively for the Hillbillies. Hopkins makes his second first-team of the year after being named first-team goalkeeper in soccer. He hit .471 with a. .618 OBP. Hopkins threw out 13 of 24 runners attempting to steal. 'Parker is a dedicated and hard-working athlete, and his efforts behind the scenes are paying off,' TCS head coach Wes Hopkins said. 'His defensive presence is a major asset, and he is a tough out at the plate. Along with his on-field accomplishments, he is just as hardworking off the field, making him a great student and friend as well.' Sherman's Luke Tagliante and Man's Landon Cantrell complete the outfield. The final two utility players are Dom Bombardiere of Notre Dame and Braxton Messer of Man. Bombardiere served as the team's ace with a 0.36 ERA and five strikeouts, while batting .422 with 21 RBI. Messer hit for .494 with 33 RBI and 23 runs. With his outstanding athleticism, it was not out of the question for him to move to receiver or defensive back but Henderson has developed so well over that time period, he looked outstanding at the Navy All-American Bowl over the holidays and now Henderson has a chance to move even higher than seventh nationally. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH HOUSTON FANS AT It is far too early to answer this question but two of the top quarterbacks in the 2028 class will work out in Indianapolis in Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy's Jayden Wade and Vero Beach, Fla., standout Wonderful 'Champ' Monds IV and they can hash it out on the field. Another 2028 star under serious consideration is Miami Northwestern's Neimannn Lawrence, who unfortunately won't be at the Rivals Five-Star but has all the tools to be really special and in consideration for No. 1 quarterback. Florida is unusually loaded at QB in 2028 and two of the best will be competing in Indy. Jaden O'Neal is coming to Indianapolis to compete and prove he's one of the best quarterbacks in the 2026 class but the Oklahoma commit will also have some explaining to do on exactly where his recruitment stands. Maybe the new Mustang, Okla., four-star standout doesn't even know yet until the situation with four-star Bowe Bentley is cleared up as he's down to the Sooners and LSU. But there has been a lot of chatter that O'Neal isn't thrilled with Oklahoma pursuing a second quarterback and that Arizona, Florida State and others are working to flip him. As June visits draw to a close right before the Rivals Five-Star, there will be no better time to catch up on his recruitment. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OKLAHOMA FANS AT Right now, the only five-star quarterback in the 2027 class is Baton Rouge (La.) Dunham's Elijah Haven, who was invited to the Rivals Five-Star but declined. That opens the door for the other highly-rated quarterbacks to make a move and many of them will be competing in Indianapolis. Ohio State pledge Brady Edmunds, Nebraska commit Trae Taylor, Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus' Colton Nussmeier and Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian's Peyton Houston, USC's top quarterback target in the 2027 class, will all be working out in Indianapolis. Let's see if another five-star quarterback emerges from that group. USC has made it clear: Houston - no one else - is the top target in its 2027 quarterback class. The Shreveport Evangel Christian standout has also made it clear that he has serious interest in the Trojans after two recent visits to campus. But there will be stiff competition. Oklahoma had been considered the front-runner in his recruitment with Texas, Texas A&M and LSU all involved among others but USC's pursuit especially in the last few months has intrigued many including Houston, who knows full well coach Lincoln Riley's success over the years with quarterbacks. It will be interesting to see based on his performance whether Houston should be more in the five-star conversation. At media day for the Rivals Five-Star, it will also be interesting to see if the Trojans have moved to the front of the pack in his recruitment.
