According to the reports of OTTPlay, the Malayalam horror-comedy film 'Sumathi Valavu', starring Arjun Ashokan, has got a new theatrical release date. Initially, the film was planned for release in May 2025, but the release was postponed for unknown reasons. Now, the filmmakers have officially announced that it will hit theatres on August 1, 2025.

'Sumathi Valavu' is based on a real-life story connected to a place in Thiruvananthapuram district called Sumathi Valavu.
According to local folklore, the place is believed to be haunted by the spirit of Sumathi, a pregnant Tamil woman who was murdered by her lover in the 1990s. After her death, her soul is said to have remained in that area, making it a haunted site. The film takes inspiration from this local legend and presents it in a comedic and spooky way, mixing horror with humour.

His trademark weapons took on miniature form, the tiny crown glistened on His forehead, replete with peacock feather, and He sported a piece of yellow silk cloth around His waist, while the ankles jangled to the tinkle of bells from the anklet.
