Here are the 2025 Ottawa Race Weekend road closures
Several major Ottawa roads will be closed this weekend to make way for participants in the Ottawa Race Weekend.
The kids', 2K, 5K and 10K races will take place Saturday, followed by the half marathon and marathon Sunday.
Organizers expect over 36,500 runners and walkers to participate over the two days.
Road closures begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Laurier Avenue W. between Metcalfe and Nicholas streets, and Elgin Street northbound between Lisgar and Slater streets.
Saturday's closures mostly affect Centretown and extend south along the Rideau Canal to Dows Lake. Other downtown closures including parts of Elgin, O'Connor and Wellington streets.
Some closures will remain in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday.
Sunday's closures start earlier with some streets around Ottawa city hall shutting down to traffic starting at 5 a.m.
By 9 a.m. the closures will stretch as far as Island Park Drive, Manor Park and Hog's Back Park before receding to roads along the Rideau Canal by 1:30 p.m.
Most closures on Sunday will be lifted by 3 p.m.

The Great Glebe Garage Sale is happens Saturday across the central Ottawa neighbourhood, making it tougher to drive or bus through until late afternoon.
Odawa Native Friendship Centre's 50th Anniversary Powwow is going on all weekend at the centre near St. Laurent Boulavard and McArthur Avenue.
The King and Queen visit Ottawa on Monday and Tuesday. Watch for more road closures related to their schedule.

She Feels Pretty, the 2/5 favourite ridden by John Velazquez, won the 1 1/4-mile race in 2:00.80. Ready for Shirl came on late to finish third ahead of Valencia. The E.P. Roughriders defeat Ticats in top team showdown on Saturday
Social Sharing Quarterback Trevor Harris completed 20-of-26 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns as the Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 29-9 on Saturday in a showdown of the top teams in the Canadian Football League. Harris extended his league-record streak of consecutive games with a completion percentage of 70 per cent or better to 12 games by finishing the game at 77 per cent. Saskatchewan improved to 7-1 with the win, adding to their lead in the CFL West. The Ticats are still in first in the East despite dropping to 6-4. Hamilton QB Bo Levi Mitchell entered the game on a tear, throwing for 2,856 yards in nine games with 21 touchdown passes and only three interceptions. He was harassed throughout the game by the tenacious Roughriders' defence, who recorded six sacks and two interceptions. Mitchel finished with 16-of-31 completions for 201 yards. The Riders took control with 18 unanswered points in the second quarter. Entering the frame trailing 6-1, the Riders took their first lead of the game on a 52-yard touchdown pass from Harris to receiver Dohnte Meyers. Running back O.J.
