When Arjit replied that he liked a toned body like Bipasha Basu's, Mrunal jokingly said, 'Go marry Bipasha then!' and added, 'I am far better than Bipasha, okay!'

Uorfi re-shared the viral clip on her Instagram story and wrote that when people are young, they often don't know better. She explained that everyone changes over time and their morals and beliefs evolve. 'We all have said things in the past that we don't agree with anymore because we evolve. I have also said things in old interviews that I'm not proud of,' Uorfi wrote, adding that learning and growing is a part of life.
Television actress Hina Khan also spoke up in support of Mrunal.
She shared a thoughtful note on social media, saying that wisdom comes with time and experience. 'We all make mistakes, especially when we are younger. I can relate to Mrunal because I too have made silly mistakes in the past. With time, we become kinder and more compassionate. We learn to lift each other up,' Hina wrote. She also praised Mrunal for owning up to her mistake and taking responsibility.
Soon after, Mrunal issued a public apology. She admitted that her remarks from back then were immature and wrong. She explained that the comment was made during a playful conversation in an interview but ended up sounding offensive. 'I was a teenager and I have said many silly things in the past. Even though I may have said it jokingly, I understand that it could have hurt people. My intent was never to body-shame anyone,' she said.
