Rohit Basfore
, best known for his role in the hit web series 'Family Man' Season 3, was reportedly found dead after a day out with friends in the Garbhanga forest in Assam on Sunday evening.
According to a report by Odisha Bytes, Rohit, originally from Assam, had returned to his hometown a few months ago. Reports on various local news portals state that the actor had gone out with a group of friends on Sunday afternoon. He reportedly left home around 12:30 PM and reportedly informed his family about the short outing.
However, concern grew when his family lost contact with him later in the day. Reports then state that a friend informed the family of an accident. Although Basfore was rushed to a hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.
His sudden death has prompted the family to contact the SDRF, who later recovered the body and sent it for examination. The police have confirmed that multiple injuries were found on Rohit's body. An autopsy conducted at
Guwahati Medical College Hospital
noted that several injuries were noted on his body, including wounds on the head, face, and other parts.
Reports state that the family has alleged foul play. They claim the actor was recently involved in a parking dispute during which three individuals — Ranjit Basfore, Ashok Basfore, and Dharam Basfore — had allegedly threatened his life.
The family has also named Amardeep, a gym owner who reportedly invited Rohit to the day trip, as a person of interest.
Authorities added that the four accused individuals are currently absconding, and an investigation is underway.
