Boxing fans call out Jake Paul for 'rigged' victory against Julio César Chávez Jr.
ALBAWABA - American influencer and professional boxer Jake Paul recently made headlines after copping the win against Julio César Chávez Jr. by unanimous decision after 10 rounds.
Similar to his match against Mike Tyson, Paul's win sparked mixed reactions on social media, with several users claiming that the bout was fake and rigged. A social media user wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), "These fights are fixed. Jake Paul paying these guys to not throw punches. This is pathetic. If you pay for this, you're a chump."
Another added, "I'm convinced that Jake Paul pays dudes to just stand still in the ring and try not to hit him." — Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) June 29, 2025
Additionally, several also raised the noticeable age gap between Jake Paul and Julio César Chávez Jr. as Paul is 29 while Chávez Jr. is 39, deeming the bout "unfair" and a "money grab" while referencing Paul's fight against 58-year-old Tyson in November 2024.
Despite the negative traction it garnered on social media, Paul's fight against Tyson became the most-watched sports event on Netflix, garnering nearly 65 million viewers, according to Variety.
The fight took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, on Saturday, quickly topping trending charts on social media among boxing and sports fans.

In defense of Mafia: The Old Country (Review)
ALBAWABA - With the arrival of 2K and Hangar 13's Mafia: The Old Country, opinions about the game flooded social media, as some fans raised concerns about where the iconic long-running franchise is heading with future titles. While the game hasn't received the same criticism as Mafia III, which received negative reviews due to its storyline, day one bugs, and repetitive gameplay, several concerns were raised regarding Mafia: The Old Country. First, the game's $50 pricetag didn't sit well with many due to its short 12-15 hour campaign. Many players said that they couldn't justify the price-to-hours-played ratio. Several others expected an open world game with side missions and a lot of content, similar to Mafia III. However, what they got instead was a story-driven linear game with minimal side content. Some reported crashes and performance issues. It's worth noting that the game crashed twice during our experience on PC. Hangar 13 did an exceptional job of recreating Italy's Sicily during the 1900s. While the world is visually stunning for its color palette and lighting, there hasn't been much to explore, but that's ok. Why? Not every game has to be a 100-hour open-world game. Mafia: The Old Country (2K/ Hangar 13) In what Mafia: The Old Country lacks, such as gameplay and exploration, it makes up for with a gripping storyline, excellent voice acting, well-written characters, and stunning graphics. The choice of cast and voice actors really elevated the title, which follows the story of a mine boy called Enzo, who ventures into the world of the Italian mafia after stumbling upon the Don Torrisi familia, as he makes his way up the ladder. While the gameplay doesn't break the mold, it was still enjoyable, especially the stealthy parts. In some areas, players can finish a level undetected if they wish to do so. Moreover, riding cars and horses across Sicily feels great, especially using the faster vehicles you unlock down the line. Mafia: The Old Country (2K/ Hangar 13) On the contrary, gunplay needs improvement, especially in the crosshair department. With some weapons, the crosshair opens up too much while aiming, making it a frustrating experience at times. In a world full of open world fatigue and AAA games creeping into the $80 pricetag, Mafia: The Old Country and other titles like our GOTY, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, are a breath of fresh air in 2025. Whether the price tag is worth it depends on you as a gamer and what you expect for $50. You can always pick it up later on sale or for a possible Game Pass and PlayStation Plus release. Verdict

Emma Thompson reveals how Donald Trump stalked her on ‘Primary Colors' set
ALBAWABA - Emma Thompson shares shocking story of Donald Trump's unexpected on-set pursuit. Emma Thompson, who is a guest of honor at the Locarno Film Festival this year, told an intriguing story this morning about a weird meeting she had with Donald Trump, the 47th president. Thompson was asked about filming the 1998 Mike Nichols movie Primary Colors during a job Q&A with a large crowd. She said she was in her room one day on the set of the movie when the phone rang. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - DECEMBER 09: Emma Thompson (Photo by Jason Mendez /Getty Images via AFP) "Trump was there." "Hello, this is Donald Trump," he said. "How can I help you?" I asked because I thought it was a joke. Thompson made a joke: "Maybe he needed help finding his way." The British star went on, "Then he said, 'I'd love for you to come stay at one of my beautiful places.'" We might be able to have dinner together. I told them, "That's really nice." Thanks a lot. I'll get back to you. Thompson, imitating Trump's unique voice, said she didn't understand why the former Apprentice host called her or how he got the number to her trailer phone at first. But she quickly saw what was going on. Thompson said, "I knew that day that my divorce decree had been sent through." "And I'm sure he has people looking for good people to take out on his arm." He was looking for a kind divorcee, you know. Plus he found the number in my cabin. That is stalking, you know." Thompson also said, "I could have gone on a date with Trump and had something interesting to say." I was empowered to change the course of American history. WASHINGTON, DC - AUGUST 07: U.S. President Donald Trump (/AFP) In another part of the session, Thompson talked about several movies she had worked on, such as Richard Curtis's Love Actually. Thompson expressed her constant confusion about the movie's popularity, attributing it to its unique approach. "I mean, I'm honestly always amazed that movie made it this long. It's not that I don't like the movie. She said, "I like it a lot, but it's weird." Thompson said that the scene in the movie where her character finds out that her partner has been cheating on her "touched a nerve" because "we get a heartbreak, especially women; we have to hide it because we don't want people to see it." "So what moves you? Isn't she crying?" Thompson said, "It's her covering it up afterward, making the bed, going downstairs, and being happy." When asked about her part in Harry Potter, however, Thompson wasn't as interested in talking about how she did. "That's not really an important part of my creative work." I'm sorry. I don't even mean to be rude to those of you who like Harry Potter, but you know, I came in, did a bit with glasses and a lot of hair, and then left having been quite well paid,' she said to loud laughs from the Locarno audience. Thompson got the Leopard Club Award last night in Locarno for his work over the years. The event lasts until August 16.
