Last week, the Pollachi sexual assault verdict finally dropped, and as expected, the DMK wasted no time reminding the public that the horrors unfolded under AIADMK's watch. Political popcorn it is. Not to be outdone, the Arakkonam AIADMK rushed to flip the narrative. Their weapon? A domestic violence case involving Deivaseyal, a DMK youth wing member, accused of threatening a college girl to 'engage sexually' with party men. The girl's complaint even mentioned 20 other women allegedly facing similar exploitation. The police, however, called it a 'family issue.' Turns out, Deivaseyal had allegedly married (and deceived) multiple women. Not 20. Not even close. But the AIADMK didn't wait for fact-checks. They took the girl to the streets in protest—literally. She missed her college exam that day. Noble sacrifice or political stunt? Ironically, not even the Arakkonam AIADMK cadres showed up for their own show. Let's be clear: victim blaming is vile. But so is victim branding and weaponising a woman's trauma, just to score a few brownie points on election eve.

The state recently dropped a press release in the tone of an Oscar-winning reveal: Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare schools scored a record 96% in Class 12. 'A first in 60 years,' they beamed. Cue the confetti cannons. But, hold the applause. The math was even more puzzling than Schrodinger's cat. Tribal Welfare schools recorded 95.5% pass, while Adi Dravidar Welfare schools stood at 91.85%, with the latter having over three times the number of students than the former. The claims were first reported by Air Mail, which noted that some of the alleged victims were underage at the time of their interactions with the actor-musician. Los Angeles-based DJ Allie Teilz, one of the very first accusers, reposted her decade-old Facebook post where she claimed Leto tried to force himself on her backstage. In another post, she said she was underage when the incident happened and claimed he knew it but didn't care. 'I was assaulted and traumatised by this creep when I was 17,' she wrote, adding, 'What he did was predatory, terrifying, and unacceptable.' Leto's representative claimed that their communication was not inappropriate and that La Rue had even applied to work for them. But La Rue denied ever applying. An anonymous woman who spoke to the outlet claimed she started texting Leto when she was underage. She alleged their encounters turned sexual when she was 18 and that one experience left her feeling uncomfortable. A fourth person claimed she met the actor at a café when she was 16, and said their conversations later made her uneasy. 'He'd ask things like, 'Have you ever had a boyfriend? Have you ever…' she said. 'He changed his voice, the way he talked. It scared me. That was the first time I thought, 'Oh my God, that's not just in movies.'' Another accuser said Leto called her late at night and made remarks that crossed the line. She speculated he might have been on drugs or something, to which Leto's team responded, saying he 'has not had a drink or used drugs in over 35 years.' Berlin [Germany], June 7 (ANI): AIADMK MP M Thambidurai, a member of an all-party delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Saturday slammed Pakistan, calling it a 'name-sake democracy' and attributing its support for terrorism to repeated military failures. Addressing the Indian Diaspora at a community event in Berlin, the AIADMK MP praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strong actions against terrorism, noting India's overall democratic development and its stance against terrorism from 'Kashmir to Kanyakumari.' 'Kashmir to Kanyakumari, it is one India... India moved towards development in a democratic way... These are the achievements of India... However, there is no democracy in Pakistan, just a name-sake democracy... They cannot succeed in wars; therefore, they are using terrorism... India and PM Modi have taken strong steps to destroy the terrorist camps and not the civilian people. Therefore, it is our duty to come and speak to the world to get support... India is taking the lead; every country is saying that terrorism has to stop,' Thambidurai said. Congress MP Amar Singh, also part of the delegation, stressed the unity against terrorism. Citing the recent attack in Pahalgam, he said the act was an attempt to divide communities. In a nation, the opposition and the government do not agree with each other. It is a part of democracy. But why did we come together here? Let me tell you, in India, many terrorist attacks have happened till now... The incident of Pahalgam was done to divide the two religions in India. However, after that, all the residents of J&K protested against that incident... The whole of India came together to fight against this incident. So, the political parties also came together... Pahalgam is not the first incident... We are not here to advertise India... We are here to say that it is important to isolate Pakistan on a global level,' Singh stated. Meanwhile, another delegation member and Rajya Sabha MP Ghulam Ali Khatana highlighted Pakistan's destabilisation efforts in Kashmir, the sacrifices made by Kashmiri Pandits and advocated for peaceful neighbourhood growth but firm retaliation against aggression. 'Pakistan wanted to empty the Kashmir that is under their control. We sacrificed a lot. Our Kashmiri Pandits, significant assets of Kashmir, had to leave Kashmir. Pakistan was troubled because of the development in Kashmir. Tourism, G20 events, even yesterday, the Chenab bridge was inaugurated in Kashmir by the PM... We want our neighbours to develop, but if we get a 'goli', we will retaliate with 'gola',' Khatana added. Stalin raking up delimitation issue to cover up his failures, says Union minister L Murugan
Coimbatore: Union minister of state L Murugan on Saturday said chief minister M K Stalin was raising the issue of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies to cover up the failures of his regime. He urged Stalin to focus on running the govt properly, instead of misleading the people. Addressing the media at the city airport, Murugan said the DMK govt had increased the electricity tariff and property tax and was involved in the Tasmac scam. "Is the chief minister running the govt or are his young brothers running the show? The CM has made it a habit to blame the Union govt to cover up his govt's failures. A caste-wise census has already been conducted in Bihar and Telangana. Stalin has no intention of conducting such a census in Tamil Nadu. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that a caste-wise census will be conducted across the country, and he is a true leader of social justice," Murugan said. He said the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies was never discussed in parliament. The Prime Minister clearly stated that the constituencies would be restructured without harming anyone or any state, he said.
