Hamas Calls for Global Action Sunday Against Israeli-Induced Starvation in Gaza - Jordan News

Jordan News3 days ago
Hamas has called for a global mobilization on Sunday against what it describes as Israel's systematic starvation policy and ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip. اضافة اعلان In a statement issued Saturday, the movement said: 'A call to the nation and to all free people of the world to rise up globally to save the Palestinian people in Gaza from death by bombing, hunger, and thirst. Let tomorrow, Sunday, and the days that follow be a powerful outcry against the Zionist occupation and the deliberate starvation in Gaza.' Hamas urged people worldwide to launch 'all forms of massive public marches, solidarity events, loud outcries, and every kind of political, diplomatic, parliamentary, labor, and student pressure in solidarity with Gaza and against the war of genocide and starvation, until the brutal aggression ends and the unjust siege is lifted.' The statement called for Sunday and the days that follow to be 'global days of exposing and condemning Zionist crimes of genocide and starvation against innocent civilians in Gaza, including children, women, and the sick.' It concluded by saying: 'Let all efforts come together—Arab, Islamic, and international—and let us unite our voices in solidarity with Gaza and against the war of genocide and starvation targeting more than two million Palestinians.' Earlier on Saturday, the Gaza Ministry of Health warned of the catastrophic effects of famine gripping the Strip due to Israel's total closure of border crossings since early March. It confirmed a sharp increase in deaths caused by hunger. In a statement, the ministry said the Gaza Strip is experiencing 'an actual famine, evident in a severe shortage of essential food supplies, a widespread outbreak of acute malnutrition, and a total lack of medical resources to treat the consequences of this disaster.' On Friday, the Gaza Government Media Office announced that the number of children who have died due to malnutrition has risen to 69 since October 7, 2023. It added that total deaths caused by lack of food and medicine have reached 620 people since October 7, 2023. Since March 2, 2025, Israel has completely closed all crossings into the Gaza Strip, blocking the entry of food and medical aid and triggering a severe famine in the enclave. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a campaign of genocide in Gaza, marked by killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and rulings from the International Court of Justice to cease its actions.
According to Anadolu Agency, this genocide, backed by the United States, has resulted in over 198,000 Palestinians killed or wounded—most of them women and children—more than 9,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has claimed many lives.

'Israeli' strikes kill 15 Palestinians in Gaza, including 13 in tent attack

'Israeli' airstrikes killed 15 Palestinians on Tuesday morning, with the majority perishing in a strike on displaced persons' tents in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, according to Gaza's Civil Defense agency. Mahmoud Basal, a spokesperson for the agency, stated that "two martyrs and several injured were transported following an Israeli airstrike this morning on a house in the Al-Hakar area in the southern city of Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip." Basal further explained that the agency transported "13 martyrs and more than 50 injured, including a number of children and women, to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza after the massacre committed by the occupation with an airstrike targeting displaced persons' tents" in Al-Shati camp, west of Gaza City. The director of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, Fadel Naim, said that the hospital's doctors, medical, technical, and administrative staff are "starving, deprived of food, sleep, and rest, and there isn't enough food." He highlighted the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by healthcare workers who "continue to work to save the lives of injured citizens and patients while their bodies are collapsing, and we cannot do anything."

At least 14 civilians killed in Israeli airstrikes on displacement camp in northern Gaza

Ammon News - At least 14 Palestinians were killed and 25 others injured, including women and children, in an Israeli airstrike targeting tents housing displaced families in the northern area of al-Shati Refugee Camp west of Gaza City, according to medical sources at al-Shifa Hospital. Doctors confirmed that the victims arrived at the hospital in the early hours of Tuesday following the bombing, which marks yet another deadly attack on civilians amid the ongoing war in the besieged enclave. The strike is part of the broader Israeli military offensive on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, and has so far resulted in 59,029 deaths — the vast majority of whom are women and children — along with 142,135 injuries, according to the latest figures from the Gaza Health Ministry. Many victims remain trapped under rubble or lying in the streets, as relentless airstrikes and the collapse of infrastructure continue to hinder rescue efforts. Heavy bombardments persist across the Gaza Strip, especially in areas densely populated with displaced civilians. The humanitarian situation remains dire, with severe shortages of food, water, and medicine. WAFA

Hamas condemns 'Israeli' abduction of Gaza Ministry of Health spokesperson

Hamas has condemned the Israeli Occupation for what it described as the 'criminal targeting' of Gaza's medical sector following the abduction of Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, Director of Field Hospitals in the Gaza Strip. In a press statement issued Monday, Hamas said Al-Hams was kidnapped while visiting a field hospital operated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Rafah. The group claimed that Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire on the ambulance transporting him, killing several civilians, including journalist Tamer Al-Zaanin. Hamas accused 'Israel' of deliberately targeting medical workers through 'killing, arrest, and intimidation,' describing the incident as part of a wider campaign to cripple Gaza's health sector. The movement held the 'fascist occupation government' fully responsible for Hams' life and the lives of hundreds of other detained medical personnel, whom it said are being held in 'inhumane conditions.' Hamas urged the international community, particularly the ICRC and the World Health Organization (WHO), to strongly condemn the incident and pressure 'Israel' to release detained doctors. The statement further called on global institutions to 'confront the genocide war that is targeting all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip.'
