Andy Murray's new life now as tennis icon and Kim welcome new family member
It's been just over a year since tennis legend Andy Murray bid farewell to the sport, announcing his retirement. The former British No.1 left the game last summer, having secured his place as one of the greatest players of his generation, boasting 46 titles, including two Wimbledon titles and one US Open - not to mention three Olympic medals.
But don't think he's been taking it easy since hanging up his racket - he's dived head-first into several thrilling new ventures and made some major announcements post-retirement. Among these new ventures was a surprising partnership with long-time rival Novak Djokovic, where Murray took on the role of coach for the Serbian star at the Australian Open. The unexpected move sent shockwaves through the tennis world last year.
However, their surprise alliance came to an end after just six months, despite reaching the semi-finals Down Under together. Murray has since been linked with new coaching roles with British stars such as Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper, but for now, his focus is elsewhere as he explores new roles outside of tennis.
Andy Murray's new career roles
In May, it was confirmed that the 38 year-old had embarked on a new career as a venture capitalist, becoming an associate partner at Redrice Ventures in London, a company he previously collaborated with on a co-investment in sports wear firm Castore in 2018.
In his new role, Murray leads the Redrice Sports Collective, a group of athlete advisors, to scout for investment opportunities, particularly in the sports business.
The former tennis champ's growing investment portfolio already boasts the luxury five-star Cromlix Hotel, which he and his wife Kim snapped up in 2013 for a reported £1.8million, while he's also put money into Game4Padel, the UK's largest operator of padel courts.
Just last month, it was revealed that Murray had bagged another big business deal, partnering with Scottish potato company Albert Bartlett - a long-time supplier to Cromlix - to promote their products.
"I was lucky during my early playing days to have access to the kit and facilities required to play and develop, and as my career progressed, to have the best diet and training advice available," said the two-time Wimbledon winner as the deal was unveiled.
"I am excited to partner with Albert Bartlett to showcase the importance of a balanced diet and an active lifestyle to communities across the UK. I hope the project inspires people to play and enjoy sport throughout their lives, at whatever level they are able."
Family addition
Of course, retirement hasn't been all about finding new work for Murray, with the Scottish star also able to devote more time to his family, as well as his love of golf.
The pair, who wed in 2015 after first meeting at the US Open a decade before, are now doting parents to four youngsters - Sophie, Edie, Teddy and Lola. But their brood has just expanded slightly, with Murray revealing on Instagram that they'd recently welcomed a new pooch into their home.
Posting a snap of himself beaming alongside the flat-coated retriever, the tennis ace simply captioned it: "New addition to the family".
This follows Murray's heartbreaking announcement last year that the family's cherished border terrier Rusty had passed away, as he penned a moving tribute to the "loyal and protective" pup on social media.
"You were the most loyal and protective companion our family could have wished for," he posted. "You were so patient and gentle with the kids and we all learned so much from you. The house feels empty without you in it.
"The noise you made when you wanted a plate to lick or a biscuit to chew on or when you wanted anything for that matter was infuriating at times! But today we would do anything to hear it again," he went on, adding a 'heartbroken' emoji.
"Love you Ruzz," Murray concluded. "Rest easy poppet x".
That devastating loss came two years after Murray and his loved ones bid farewell to their other Border Terrier, Maggie May, who passed away in 2022.
The tennis champion had previously shared how his adored dogs were his "biggest supporters", saying: "Whether I win or lose, they still want to hang out with me".

But for one of their ex-targets who didn't end up moving to Ibrox, it's looking like it'll be a long season on the sidelines. 3 Russell Martin has been busy in the transfer market at Rangers Credit: Getty 3 One of the signings he's missed out on has suffered a serious injury at his new club 3 Gers were beaten to his signing out of Belgium by a Serie A club Credit: AFP Rangers were linked with then-Westerlo striker Matija Frigan earlier in this window. Gers were even preparing to table a bid of £6million to the Belgian side for the forward. He even went on to reveal later that month that the move would interest him due to the nature of Scottish football. Frigan said: "That style of league would suit me, I think I'm a player for that type of football." Gers were eventually beaten to the signing when Serie A side Parma stumped up close to €10million for his services. He made his debut for the Italians at the weekend, coming off the bench in a 2-0 victory over Pescara in the Coppa Italia. But now, Frigan looks set for a lengthy spell on the sideline, as his new club announced in a statement that the striker has suffered a dreaded ACL injury. They said: "Parma Calcio's medical staff announces that this morning, during a training session at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio, Matija Frigan was interrupted due to a sprain to his left knee. But a reported issue with the medical saw the deal fall through, and Mendy has now signed for Rayo Vallecano on loan. Daniel Dubois' next fight will be sooner than expected after Oleksandr Usyk KO
The British star was brutally knocked out by the Ukrainian last month, but is already looking at a quick return as he looks to become a two-time world champion Daniel Dubois could return to the ring before the end of the year. The British heavyweight star suffered an agonising knockout defeat to Oleksandr Usyk last month in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. Soon after the loss, Dubois' coach Kieran Farrell parted ways with the team. The changes did not stop there, though. Earlier this month, Dubois stunned fans after splitting from trainer Don Charles. The famous boxing coach was in the Brit's corner for the three best wins of his career; against Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua. Dubois was crowned world champion following his win over Hrgovic when Usyk gave up his IBF belt. Following the news, the 27-year-old broke his silence, saying: 'I want to take this moment to thank Don Charles and his team for all the time, effort, and hard work they've put into me over the past 18 months. I'm truly grateful for everything. That said, I feel it's time for a change, a fresh approach for the next phase of my career, as I push forward to become a two-time heavyweight champion of the world, God bless. I'll be making a further announcement regarding my new team structure very soon.' In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Dubois' manager - Sam Jones - revealed that a December comeback fight is on the table. Jones confirmed he has a meeting scheduled with promoter Frank Warren next week to map out the boxer's future as he looks to become a world champion again. "I've been around Daniel for just over a week," Jones said of Dubois' split from Charles. "He's decided he needs a fresh team - a new voice, a new plan. But that's not to diminish anything Don Charles has done. He's done a fantastic job. They shared some incredible nights. The AJ fight at Wembley was iconic, and Don played a massive role in that. But this is life - Daniel felt he needed a change, and that's what's happened." Jones added: "Daniel just wants to win boxing matches," Jones added. "He's a fighter through and through. He was upset with his performance against Usyk, he thought he could do a lot better. But there's no shame in losing to the greatest heavyweight of this era. He's undoubtedly the best of this generation. "Daniel's lost to him a couple of times. He lost to Joe Joyce when he was very young. There's no shame in that. He's a former world champion, and now the sole focus is becoming a two-time heavyweight champion of the world." Dubois had been expected to sit out the remainder of 2025 and return in the new year. Who will Daniel Dubois fight next? Jones also discussed Dubois' next opponent and believes that all options are open, including a rematch with Joshua. The pair went head-to-head in September 2024 - with 'Triple D' going on to score a vicious knockout in the fifth round. He also predicted a future dust-up with rising star Moses Itauma. "One hundred per cent. That fight [with Itauma] is going to happen," Jones continued. "Daniel's 27. Moses looks like a phenomenal talent at 20. These boys are going to be the future. You've got Fabio Wardley riding a wave right now. We're entering a new era. Young Leo Atang was in the Sky Sports studios recently - he'll be in the mix soon too. These are the heavyweights who will shape British boxing going forward." He added: "He's a proud man, and I know he won't want to keep seeing that knockout by Daniel on his screen. I'm sure he'll want to right that wrong. And if he ever wants to, then let's get it on. It's all about what's best for Daniel now - WBO, IBF, WBC. He belongs at the top table in heavyweight boxing. He's an elite-level heavyweight. All those names you mentioned - Daniel will be back in the mix."
