Jewelry Trends To Know For Mother's Day 2025
Mother's Day has become a prominent date in the calendar. If you're thinking of giving jewelry this Mother's Day, there are many new trends to consider. From a modern interpretation of the classic pearl to striking statement earrings, there is something to suit every mother's style, making this a meaningful and symbolic gift.
According to Wunderkind, US consumers spent $33.5 billion on Mother's Day—a 68% increase over the last decade, and 84% of U.S. adults celebrate Mother's Day in categories like jewelry, apparel, flowers, and skincare.
Pearls are a classic item that has made a comeback this season, as seen at the Spring Summer 2025 collections for design houses including Chanel, Moschino and Bottega Venetta. Speaking over email to Lucy Crowther, founder of Minka Jewels, she told me that this revival has taken place over the past two years, but today's pearls have a modern twist to them and don't resemble the traditional sets of the past. 'We have been stringing pearls on vibrant-colored threads while using the traditional knotting technique specific to pearls. Tahitian pearls look stunning when paired with a bright green thread, which enhances the dark green and gold tones of the pearls beautifully,' she said. She explained that as everyone is drawn to color, combining this with the simple beauty and purity of a pearl's iridescence is a trend that is here to stay.

Adding texture to pearls is another subcategory that is rising in popularity. As described by Jessie Thomas, from Jessie Thomas Jewelry, pearls can be modernized by marrying them with textured gold and gemstones. 'I often add black rhodium to give a traditional pair of pearl earrings a rock'n'roll edge,' she says. Jessie loves using baroque pearls in her designs because they feel very contemporary and a bit unusual, but ultimately, because they work for women of all ages.
Another category we have seen on the runway is marine-inspired jewelry. I emailed Cece Fein Hughes, from Cece, to talk about her creations, and she told me that she has always loved incorporating marine-inspired designs in her jewelry. 'The ocean and its creatures hold so much meaning to so many people, from its calming presence to the memories it stirs of seaside escapes and adventures. It's timeless and universally evocative, which is why I think people will always gravitate towards it,' she said.
Marine-inspired jewelry has a way of blending elegance with storytelling, and this year, we will see this trend becoming even more sought-after as people embrace meaningful and effortlessly chic designs. On the runway the trend was prominent at Roberto Cavalli, Chloe and Schiaparelli's Spring/Summer 2025 shows. It also reflects people's environmental awareness, and as Lito Karokostanoglou, founder of Lito, told me, jewelers get inspired by nature's beauty and are keen to design jewelry that reminds us of nature or use materials that come from nature.
The torque style is bold and simple, with a clean and elegant structure, and it aligns perfectly with the modern desire for minimalism and a return to the 90s aesthetic– as seen at Gucci and Chloe's catwalk presentations for Spring/Summer 2025. Laura Vann (founder of Laura Vann ) tells me that she loves how clean they are and how chic they look when resting on a bare collarbone. 'They have an air of nostalgia that could nod to the 90s but also feels hard to pinpoint as they date back thousands of years ago!'
Bold, sculptural earrings are another look we will see more of this summer (as seen at Saint Laurent's Spring/Summer 2025 show). Inspired by the power-dressing of the 1980s, they can elevate an outfit instantly.
According to Rachel Boston, from Rachel Boston, statement pieces can be highly versatile; gold earrings, as an example, are an easy way to add an element of interest to a more casual look or to add personality to a more formal outfit. 'I find that framing the face with earrings instantly makes someone look put together and elegant, and I love that yellow gold specifically has a warm glow about it that looks good on more or less everyone,' she says. This is emphasized by Alexia Karides, founder of YSSO, who adds that big sculptural earrings are trending because people are interested in pieces that elevate their existing wardrobes and can mix and match with the most basic outfits. 'I think it's a translation of the 'lipstick effect', where people cut down spending but spend on little luxuries that allow them to feel good, express themselves and treat themselves'.

Ear Cuffs are another statement earring that is proving to be very popular (as seen at Valentino Spring/Summer 25), as are single earrings such as the Bee Goddess apple seed gold blue diamond single earring from her latest Apple Seed Collection. This earring, perfect for unpierced ears, symbolizes spring, new beginnings, transformation, and the magic of love. The collection includes many pieces, such as rings and necklaces.

Rosanna & Christie Wollenberg, founders of Otiumberg told me over email that cuffs are increasingly loved and multi-generational. 'We've seen women in their 50s or 60s buy for themselves while gifting the same piece to their daughters.' Perhaps one of the reasons for their recent surge is that you can build up your ear stack with no piercings required and take it from a single cuff on one side to layering them up, mixing different metals, and making a statement.
Charms have always been a fantastic way to tell stories through jewelry as you can assemble a personal collection over time. They're individual, sentimental, and endlessly versatile—and that's precisely why people love collecting them. Cece Fein Hughes tells me that charms will always hold a special place in jewelry and continue to be a timeless trend. They have been present recently on the catwalk in many shows, including Chloe and Balmain Spring/Summer 2025.

Silver is also back in vogue. At Otiumberg, silver sales are 244% higher than last year. Rosanna & Christie tell me that silver is a beautiful precious material customers love. And there is an integrity to it that captures our hearts: 'I love that silver doesn't pretend to be anything else, unlike gold vermeil or other metals that try to mimic the appearance of more expensive materials. It proudly embraces its unique character and charm", says Sophie Howard, founder of By Pariah.
With so many styles available, whether you want to explore silver pieces, pearls, statement earrings or charm bracelets, it's a fun time to explore the latest jewelry trends. And, if shopping for someone else, a great way to find what will best express their personality.

Model Colin Jones Shares Her Perfect Go-See Outfit
Gone are the days when models had to dress like a blank canvas for their various go-sees. This new crop of models are embracing their personal style and expressing their individuality through their fashion choices—be it with jeans and a tee or a statement dress. Here, Vogue dives into the stylish wardrobes of a buzzy models of the moment, to see what they wear to their casting calls. This isn't any old clothing haul! Meet model Colin Jones. Growing up in Spanish Fork, Utah, Jones was signed to her mother agency NIYA Management over a Zoom call—ah, the modern world!—and the rest is history. (She is now also signed with Women Management in New York.) Recently, you may have seen the catwalk star bringing her inimitable (and always fierce) walk to shows like Maison Margiela, Mugler, and Ferragamo. She has also graced editorials of magazines like i-D and Pop, as well as major campaigns for KNWLS and Byredo. Below, Jones discusses her discovery story, her favorite assignment to date, and what's in her closet. (Hint: She loves her some Chanel.) Vogue: Tell us your discovery story Colin Jones: Modeling has been my dream since childhood. One Christmas, I received my first iPod Touch and stumbled upon a vintage Chanel runway show from the late '90s on YouTube. That moment sparked a deep fascination with fashion. The summer before my senior year of high school, I submitted photos of myself online to a local Utah agency. A Zoom meeting with my mother agent led to signing my first contract, and soon after, I was invited to New York to meet with agencies. I moved a month after that, and I've been working in the industry ever since. I'm incredibly grateful to say that my childhood dream has come true. Every day feels like I'm truly living in a movie. What's been your favorite job thus far? Walking the Mugler show was always huge goal of mine. I remember obsessing over Casey Cadwallader's work when I was in high school. I loved walking my school hallways to the Mugler show soundtracks. I also treasure the i-D shoot with Mario Sorrenti and Alastair McKimm, as it celebrated the vital importance of featuring LGBTQ+ individuals and sharing our stories.

The Best Summer Nail Designs Based On Your Horoscope
From chic French tips and chrome nails to cat-eye designs and marble nails, deciding on a fresh manicure can be overwhelming - which is why determining the best summer nail design based on your horoscope might make the process a little easier. Whether you're an Earth sign who deserves maximalist nails for being everyone's emotional support or the Fire sign who's looking for an aesthetically-pleasing set (try a painterly ombre design) that won't further overwhelm her senses, looking to the stars can be a helpful starting point before your next manicure appointment. The creative Pisces might gravitate towards aura nails or chrome designs, while perfectionist Virgos will appreciate the refined finish of a minimalist nail art. Elsewhere, romantic Libras will enjoy the serenity of white nails. When it comes to finding the perfect summer nail colour, classic red will please the elegant Taurus while a soft pink manicure taps into the gentle spirit of Libras. Unexpected moody tones like inky black will satisfy the non-conformist nature of Scorpios. It goes without saying that you have the final word on your manicure, but if you've ever sat in a nail salon and felt paralysed by the endless colour and design options available, this is certainly a great place to start. Whilst you're at it, why not find out your new favourite summer shoes, bob hair transformation and TV shows based on your horoscope too? Sometimes, when the choices are too much, its best to leave it ups to the stars... Aquarians love a bit of whimsy and they're unafraid to push the boundaries - it's no wonder their social circle looks to them for the latest trends. A glassy red manicure brings the drama, but the translucency gives them that extra edge that sets it apart from the crowd. Pictured: Moschino SS25 Imaginative, creative and with a penchant for the mystical, Pisceans are loved for their sensitive souls. They also tend to be intuitive, and have a way of feeling the vibe of those that surrounds them. What better way to channel a Piscean's magical aura than with an otherworldly silver chrome manicure complete with 3D organic lines on top? A Pisces' aesthetic is anything but basic. Pictured: Private Policy SS25 Yes, the Aries is revered for their magnetic presence and sparkling personality (think fellow Aries Elle Fanning and Pedro Pascal), but for your manicure, lean into the April birth stone: diamonds. Go with an immaculate, nude manicure and add on a crystal or two just one fingertip for an elevated take on embellished nails. Considering that Aries can have a competitive side, this manicure will certainly get the compliments rolling in. Pictured: Peet Dullaert haute couture SS25 Taureans tend to appreciate having a sense of stability, so a classic, vampy red manicure is will keep them feeling at ease. Try a rich scarlet rather than a typical orange-red that's so popular in the summer months. A high-shine finish will please the regal side of Taurus signs. Pictured: Elisabetta Franchi SS25 Considering just how charming, sociable, and versatile a personality Gemini tends to be, a neutral manicure with gilded 3D art is perfect for their suitably full summer calendar. This manicure will take you from boardroom to the bar, and goes with sundresses and a laidback jeans and tee combo. Pictured: PatBo SS25 There is a softness to the Cancer's personality that makes pink nails perfect for them. Seeing as this water sign also appreciates all things pretty and classic, a ballet pink glazed manicure feels trendy and cool, without going too overboard or maximalist. If you are willing to go the extra mile, why not ease in with minimalist nail charm? Pictured: Sinead Gorey SS25 It's no secret that Leos enjoy a bit of drama and glamour. You'll no doubt be putting your best foot forward this summer with showstopping swimwear and perhaps a brand new summer bob haircut, so let your nails complement that. A neat and short silver manicure goes with pretty much everything, and jazzes up the fingertips without competing with the rest of your look. Pictured: Anteprima SS25 Virgos tend to have an eye for exacting details. Couple that with their perfectionist side and an understated nail art is exactly up your street. Try tiny dots on a barely-there base for a something-but-nothing manicure vibe. Pictured: Eudon Choi SS24 Librans often have a serene, dreamy vibe to them. With Venus as their ruling planet, this star sign also has an affinity for romance. White nails capture the tranquility of the Librans perfectly, but why not take it a step further with white on white embellishments and 3D designs? Librans appreciate order, so a tonal manicure brings interest, yet keeps things from being overstimulating. Pictured: PatBo SS24 Scorpios do what they love and love what they do, which means traditional rules and trends do not apply for this star sign. Why do yellow for summer when it's much cooler and off-kilter to do a black manicure for the warmer months? Pair your sunkissed flush with an onyx French tip. Bonus points for a gold nail accessory ala Di Petsa. Pictured: Di Petsa SS25 This free spirited star sign is all about self-expression and their inquisitive nature means they're unafraid to try new things. Ombre, watercolour-esque nails will fulfil a Saggitarian's love for a good time. Take a cue from the December birth stone and try varying shades of blue, whether it's navy or baby blue. Pictured: Ahluwalia SS24 This Earth sign is often the friend who's grounded, hard-working and responsible which means no one deserves a maximalist, magical set of nails more than the Capricorn. This shimmery, star-studded design gives off a princess vibe that'll no doubt please the Capricorn when the compliments come in. Pictured: Adeam SS24 Medina Azaldin is the beauty editor of ELLE and Harper's Bazaar UK, working across print and digital features. She has more than seven years journalism experience and has previously written for Red and Good Hoousekeeping. When she's not demystifying the latest skincare ingredient, sniffing out the next big perfume trend or uncovering the science behind wellness practices, you'll most likely find her in Hatchards Piccadilly or watching a crime series with her cats. Oh, and she's a competitive cheerleader, too.
