Jewelry Trends To Know For Mother's Day 2025
Mother's Day has become a prominent date in the calendar. If you're thinking of giving jewelry this Mother's Day, there are many new trends to consider. From a modern interpretation of the classic pearl to striking statement earrings, there is something to suit every mother's style, making this a meaningful and symbolic gift.
According to Wunderkind, US consumers spent $33.5 billion on Mother's Day—a 68% increase over the last decade, and 84% of U.S. adults celebrate Mother's Day in categories like jewelry, apparel, flowers, and skincare.
Pearls are a classic item that has made a comeback this season, as seen at the Spring Summer 2025 collections for design houses including Chanel, Moschino and Bottega Venetta. Speaking over email to Lucy Crowther, founder of Minka Jewels, she told me that this revival has taken place over the past two years, but today's pearls have a modern twist to them and don't resemble the traditional sets of the past. 'We have been stringing pearls on vibrant-colored threads while using the traditional knotting technique specific to pearls. Tahitian pearls look stunning when paired with a bright green thread, which enhances the dark green and gold tones of the pearls beautifully,' she said. She explained that as everyone is drawn to color, combining this with the simple beauty and purity of a pearl's iridescence is a trend that is here to stay.

Adding texture to pearls is another subcategory that is rising in popularity. As described by Jessie Thomas, from Jessie Thomas Jewelry, pearls can be modernized by marrying them with textured gold and gemstones. 'I often add black rhodium to give a traditional pair of pearl earrings a rock'n'roll edge,' she says. Jessie loves using baroque pearls in her designs because they feel very contemporary and a bit unusual, but ultimately, because they work for women of all ages.
Another category we have seen on the runway is marine-inspired jewelry. I emailed Cece Fein Hughes, from Cece, to talk about her creations, and she told me that she has always loved incorporating marine-inspired designs in her jewelry. 'The ocean and its creatures hold so much meaning to so many people, from its calming presence to the memories it stirs of seaside escapes and adventures. It's timeless and universally evocative, which is why I think people will always gravitate towards it,' she said.
Marine-inspired jewelry has a way of blending elegance with storytelling, and this year, we will see this trend becoming even more sought-after as people embrace meaningful and effortlessly chic designs. On the runway the trend was prominent at Roberto Cavalli, Chloe and Schiaparelli's Spring/Summer 2025 shows. It also reflects people's environmental awareness, and as Lito Karokostanoglou, founder of Lito, told me, jewelers get inspired by nature's beauty and are keen to design jewelry that reminds us of nature or use materials that come from nature.
The torque style is bold and simple, with a clean and elegant structure, and it aligns perfectly with the modern desire for minimalism and a return to the 90s aesthetic– as seen at Gucci and Chloe's catwalk presentations for Spring/Summer 2025. Laura Vann (founder of Laura Vann ) tells me that she loves how clean they are and how chic they look when resting on a bare collarbone. 'They have an air of nostalgia that could nod to the 90s but also feels hard to pinpoint as they date back thousands of years ago!'
Bold, sculptural earrings are another look we will see more of this summer (as seen at Saint Laurent's Spring/Summer 2025 show). Inspired by the power-dressing of the 1980s, they can elevate an outfit instantly.
According to Rachel Boston, from Rachel Boston, statement pieces can be highly versatile; gold earrings, as an example, are an easy way to add an element of interest to a more casual look or to add personality to a more formal outfit. 'I find that framing the face with earrings instantly makes someone look put together and elegant, and I love that yellow gold specifically has a warm glow about it that looks good on more or less everyone,' she says. This is emphasized by Alexia Karides, founder of YSSO, who adds that big sculptural earrings are trending because people are interested in pieces that elevate their existing wardrobes and can mix and match with the most basic outfits. 'I think it's a translation of the 'lipstick effect', where people cut down spending but spend on little luxuries that allow them to feel good, express themselves and treat themselves'.

Ear Cuffs are another statement earring that is proving to be very popular (as seen at Valentino Spring/Summer 25), as are single earrings such as the Bee Goddess apple seed gold blue diamond single earring from her latest Apple Seed Collection. This earring, perfect for unpierced ears, symbolizes spring, new beginnings, transformation, and the magic of love. The collection includes many pieces, such as rings and necklaces.

Rosanna & Christie Wollenberg, founders of Otiumberg told me over email that cuffs are increasingly loved and multi-generational. 'We've seen women in their 50s or 60s buy for themselves while gifting the same piece to their daughters.' Perhaps one of the reasons for their recent surge is that you can build up your ear stack with no piercings required and take it from a single cuff on one side to layering them up, mixing different metals, and making a statement.
Charms have always been a fantastic way to tell stories through jewelry as you can assemble a personal collection over time. They're individual, sentimental, and endlessly versatile—and that's precisely why people love collecting them. Cece Fein Hughes tells me that charms will always hold a special place in jewelry and continue to be a timeless trend. They have been present recently on the catwalk in many shows, including Chloe and Balmain Spring/Summer 2025.

Silver is also back in vogue. At Otiumberg, silver sales are 244% higher than last year. Rosanna & Christie tell me that silver is a beautiful precious material customers love. And there is an integrity to it that captures our hearts: 'I love that silver doesn't pretend to be anything else, unlike gold vermeil or other metals that try to mimic the appearance of more expensive materials. It proudly embraces its unique character and charm", says Sophie Howard, founder of By Pariah.
With so many styles available, whether you want to explore silver pieces, pearls, statement earrings or charm bracelets, it's a fun time to explore the latest jewelry trends. And, if shopping for someone else, a great way to find what will best express their personality.

Miley Cyrus Puts Her Own Twist on a '80s Rockstar Hairstyle at the Chanel and Tribeca Film Festival Luncheon in NYC
Miley Cyrus embodied the quintessential 1980s rockstar at Chanel's annual luncheon in collaboration with The Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on Friday. The 32-year-old 'Flowers' singer, who just released her latest studio album titled 'Something Beautiful,' attended the gathering to celebrate the Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women's Filmmaker Program alongside a ballot of female actors, entertainers, filmmakers and music artists, including Parker Posey, Lola Tung, Riley Keough and Olivia Munn. Cyrus continued her side part stint, teasing her dark brown roots up and over to create an Elvis-esque bump in the front with only a single curl touching her forehead. Her bright blond highlights melted between her messy curls behind her shoulders. Yet, her stark side part and choppy barrel waves resembled a wild hair trend within the music scene during the 1980s. Hairstylist Bob Recine was behind the look. Recine has worked with the former Disney Channel star for years. For the most part, Cyrus kept her black sunglasses on outside in The Greenwich Hotel Courtyard. Underneath the shades, however, she wore a bit of bronze shadow on her eyes, mascara, white liner in her waterline and light pink gloss on her lips. Her go-to makeup artist is James Kaliardos, the professional behind her recent look for a surprise performance at The Carlyle Hotel earlier this week. Her fashion at the luncheon fit the rocker aesthetic, comprised of an inky black vest with four pockets, a two-tiered pleated skirt, matching nylons and mary jane heels. Next to her was her mom, Tish, dressed in a white blazer, black trousers, a lacy tank top and strappy, open-toe sandals. Cyrus' attendance on Friday comes just a week after her ninth studio album dropped. The record is also accompanied by her first short film, which is set to premiere during the festival on Friday. The film will be an extension of her album, a visual interpretation of the storyline told through all 13 songs. This Chanel Look Made Nico Parker Feel Like the Ultimate Princess
From the big screen to the red carpet, Nico Parker is living the dream. In a brief few years, the actress has starred in several major projects, including Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, The Last of Us, and, most recently, as Astrid Hofferson in the highly anticipated live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon (based on the hit movie and book of the same name released in 2010 and 2003, respectively). Last night, the BAFTA-nominated actress and Chanel ambassador attended the film's L.A. premiere, stepping out on the red carpet in a gorgeous rose-colored gown fresh off the house's fall/winter 2025 runway, styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray. When Parker initially saw the look from the show, it was love at first sight. The floor-length dress was accented by a tiered ruffled skirt and delicate bows. She layered a sheer silk shawl over the ensemble, enhancing its ethereal, fairy-tale charm. The fashion didn't stop there. There was also a stunning assortment of Chanel fine jewelry on display that brought out the soft undertones of the blush pink, including two rings and a pair of earrings. The overall vibe exuded a princess-like elegance—precisely what Parker and Corbin-Murray aimed for, and perfectly suited to the fun, fantasy-filled action film. On the carpet, Parker posed alongside her co-star Mason James, who plays her romantic interest, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. Below, see how she got ready for her big night.
