Jeff Brazier reveals dream to reboot his failed 00s gameshow from 19 years ago

It's been 19 years, but Jeff Brazier thinks a cult classic gameshow needs a reboot.
The 45-year-old TV star first rose to fame on Shipwrecked in 2001, but five years later he took over from Art Attack! legend Neil Buchanan as host of CITV's Finders Keepers revival.
Asked what show he'd like to be involved in, he exclusively told Metro on the Baftas red carpet: 'I wanna make Finders Keepers again. I did it about 25 years ago.
'It's where kids just let loose in the bedrooms of a fake house, make as much mess as they can trying to find something.
'That was one of the coolest shows from my childhood, so I think it needs to come back.'
The original show with Neil at the helm ran from 1991 to 1996 with six series of 13 episodes each (besides the final one, which had eight) before Jeff brought it back in 2006 for a 15-episode run.
Two pairs (the Green Meanies and Yellow Terrors) had to go through eight rooms across two rounds to find hidden objects based on clues read out by the host.
They had just 30 seconds in each room, and earned points for each object they found, while losing them to the other duo for a failed attempt.
Several shows have been given a new life in recent years, and Jeff thinks there's a very good reason for that.
'We like a bit of nostalgia, we want to reconnect with our childhood, don't we,' he pointed out. 'We want to go back to where things were easier and more fun. I think that show embodies that, for me.'
Beyond his own revival, Jeff has got some other ideas to shake up UK TV with a new sport to replace darts or snooker – step aside, Luke Littler.
'One thing that I'd like to see changed? We need to bring padel onto British television,' he suggested, referencing the tennis-esque game in a smaller, enclosed court. More Trending
Jeff added: 'I wanna watch padel! Instead of snooker or darts, give me some padel to watch! I'm a little bit obsessed with it.'
The former I'm A Celebrity star has appeared on all sorts of shows – including the likes of This Morning, Dancing On Ice and Celebrity MasterChef.
However, he admitted some people still have one big misconception about him even after more than two decades on television.

'Everyone always says, 'Oh you're a little bit taller than I thought you'd be' So maybe I am taller than people think I am,' he shrugged. 'People maybe see me on TV sitting down a lot. Not sure why!'

JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes share sweet update as relationship intensifies
After JoJo, 22, admitted earlier this week that her relationship with Love Island star Chris Hughes, 32, was no longer "platonic", she has shared more of their time together on social media Singer JoJo Siwa has shared a series of clips of her time in London over the last week, as her relationship with Love Island star Chris Hughes has continued to intensify. The Dance Moms reality star, 22, has documented her time in London on TikTok, with Chris, 32, featuring heavily in her videos. Her most recent upload was captioned: "What a week and What a camera roll. Mini vlog coming next." As well as her tour, she has been hosting her Afternoon Tea Party, which saw her fans join her on a double-decker bus as she made her way around London. Adorned with sweet treats and sandwiches from "afternoon tea specialists" Brigit's Bakery, the bus took JoJo and her fans through the capital as they chatted and laughed. Her video included clips of her and Chris, including him kissing her on the head, them both in hysterics over his comedy glasses and the pair enjoying walks through the park with a coffee. One clip showed her taking part in an interview on Capital radio, in which she admitted, after months of speculation, that she and Chris are an item. Speaking to Capital Buzz on June 2, JoJo said: "I'm sure it's no secret to people, I am in a lovely relationship with a sweet boy named Christopher Hughes." She has also been forced to hit back at claims that her relationship with Chris is a publicity stunt. JoJo told The Guardian at the start of the week: "It's not platonic anymore, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way.' When asked about suggestions it's for PR, she added: "Clearly, you've never been around us. I won't ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now." She added: "Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never been in pain from smiling so much.' This Morning's Ben Shephard also brought the topic up with reality star Chris Hughes, who was left blushing live on air on Tuesday (June 3) when he congratulated him on his romance with JoJo. Chris shared a now-deleted photo showing the couple cuddling in bed together. He kissed her on the head while she lay on his chest, with Chris captioning the post: "Sleeping beauty." Speaking live on This Morning, Ben asked Chris: "Can we just say, because obviously we're all talking about, congratulations on the relationship. "We're all very excited. Have we decided on whether it's Hughes-wa? What's the power couple name?" A grinning Chris replied: "They call it CoJo. That's the one they're all going for. Chris-JoJo, it works. It rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? Thanks guys, I appreciate it." Meanwhile, on the Rosebud podcast with Gyles Brandreth, JoJo gushed about what drew her to Chris, saying: "When he first walked in, he was the only person that I knew what they looked like before coming into the show. "I was 'Oh that's the Chris guy'. Initially the first thing that I took in about him was he was a good hugger. I liked his hug. That felt like a nice embrace. And he smelt good." And now JoJo admits she is thinking long-term about a life with Chris, even wanting to make it permanent with a tattoo to commemorate their story. She said: "I want Chris to last for a lifetime," adding: "The Chris tattoo, I said in Big Brother that I would get this bamboo stick... and I want to get two other tattoos from the Big Brother house of memories that I have from in there."

Sam Thompson embraces sister as he ends 260-mile run and cycle for Soccer Aid
The former Made In Chelsea star, 32, embraced his sister, Louise Thompson, as well as her partner Ryan Libbey, and nephew Leo as he hopped over the finish line in Manchester on Friday morning. TV presenter Will Best spoke to Thompson live on ITV's This Morning and revealed that his Match Ball Mission has so far raised £1,516,433.22 for humanitarian aid organisation Unicef. His experience is documented in a one-off programme titled Sam Thompson's Match Ball Mission that will air on Friday June 13 at 9pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player. The money raised from the challenge will support Unicef's work, including providing clean water and nutrition, for children around the world.

Doctor Who's finale infuriated fans – but the next series will fix everything
Doctor Who is in an odd place both in the fictional universe it inhabits and our mundane reality. Last we saw, the tenacious Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa was burning away to reveal the Doctor's new face, and it looked very familiar. For whatever reason, the Last of the Time Lords appeared to have taken on the form of his old companion Rose Tyler (Billie Piper). Needless to say, this sudden and unexpected transformation has left a lot of fans very curious – and in some cases downright furious – about what's next for the good doctor. Annoyingly, however, the BBC and Russell T Davies have remained tight-lipped on the situation and at the time of writing, there's been no word on the beloved sci-fi series' future or whether Disney is interested in helping finance another run. So what's a Gallifreyan superfan to do then? Well, here at Metro we've gathered our team of dedicated Doctor Who experts – Deputy TB Editor Tom Percival, TV Reporter Asyia Iftikhar, and Senior TV Reporter Rebecca Cooke – and cracked out the crystal ball to predict what's next for the show, both in terms of the story and the thorny world of TV production. It might just be me, but it seems painfully obvious where Doctor Who is going next. Regardless of Disney's involvement, I think we're getting at least one more special, and I don't believe that Billie is playing a true incarnation of the Doctor. Instead, it seems far more plausible that she's the Bad Wolf entity borrowing the Doctor's body. Basically, in this imagined special, we'd learn that Rose's consciousness exists in the Time Vortex as Bad Wolf. When 15 poured his regeneration energy into the time vortex to bring back Poppy, part of that consciousness merged with the Doctor. Sadly, it's not a true regeneration, and this new 'Meta-Crisis Rose Doctor' has a limited time until the body finishes 'cooking' and the true 16th Doc emerges. In that time, though, she has all Rose's memories and all the Doctor's abilities, so she decides to track down her Doctor… aka David Tennant. Over the course of a special, we then get 'Rose Doctor' travelling through the Doctor's timeline, running into some familiar faces (old companions and some returning Doctors perhaps?) before one final tear-jerking run-in with the 10th Doctor giving closure on Davies' tenure and the revived Doctor Who series. Basically it's one big happy ending. What happens next depends on whether the BBC wants more Doctor Who or not. But either way, I think it'll end with the Rose Doctor regenerating into the true 16th Doctor. This will either lead to a third season or, if the BBC decides it's done with Who, the regeneration will be left open-ended for some future writer to pick up a decade or so from now. Whatever happens, though, I think it's time for some fresh blood, and that means two things. Drop Russell T Davies and leave the nostalgia for New Who behind. Change is part of the show's DNA, and the refusal to 'regenerate' has been holding the series back. Disney will pull out of the deal, and the show will fall back into the BBC's hands, returning with a 2026 festive special by which time they will have chosen the 16th Doctor proper. In the Christmas special, much like Susan's cameo was teased and never addressed again in season two, Billie Piper will make a fleeting appearance before the show quickly moves on. I believe she won't even last the full episode, and her cameo will be resolved perhaps even in the first 5 to 10 minutes, as the Doctor's regeneration goes wacky due to Rose's energy being in the Time Vortex after the Bad Wolf incident. Billie will then regenerate into thetrue16th Doctor, who will have their introductory adventure. The show will then return in 2027 for a full season three (ideally returning to, at least, the 10-episode structure provided for Jodie Whittaker's era) with a brand new companion. Belinda Chandra, Ruby Sunday, the 15th Doctor, and whoever Billie is portraying will be firmly left in the past – and, like you, I hope and assume there will be a new showrunner. It's fair to say the Billie Piper reveal has not gone down well. Most see it as the Whoniverse putting the brand on life support, where the memories of the good ol' heyday of the Russell reboot are intravenously administered to keep the dwindling fanbase hopeful that our ailing Tardis might pull through. So, if an idea like, say, bringing back a beloved companion and defying show logic by making her a Time Lord were to backfire, how best to style it out? This season gave fans a lot of things on their wishlist: big budget, stellar Doctor, lovable companion, some cracking episodes (Lux, The Well, etc). But still, it seemed the only fans tuning in were the meta superfans we met when the Doctor battled Mr Ring-a-Ding. Let's go out on a limb here and say that Disney won't back out. That Rose is the Sixteenth Doctor. (All the logical predictions have been taken.) In order to get fans back in and keep Disney sweet, we might have a big shake-up on our hands. Huge. Piper is so bonkers and out-there a person to appear in the regeneration, it could upset the time-space continuum enough to usher in the new normal: a Doctor-of-the-week format. More Trending Hear me out. Perhaps Piper is explained away with some timey-wimey nonsense, and perhaps it turns out the mechanics of Time Lord-dom are broken. He/she/they is regenerating every hour of television, to be precise. Which Doctor Who prediction do you think is right?
