adidas' Latest Campaign With Zalando Explores Life in the Fast Lane

Hypebeast04-06-2025
Having become one of the most sought-after sneakers for this year's marathons, theAdizero EVO SLnow lands in a newadidascampaign onZalandothat explores the silhouette's performance and style in places other than racetracks.
Set against Paris' bustling cityscape with locals on the go, the visuals use the tapestry of modern-day life to showcase the running shoe's all-around adaptability. Moving from cafés to flower shops and navigating busy streets in between, they are captured in parallel as they use the Adizero's cutting-edge technology – in particular the Lighstrike Pro Foam – to keep up the momentum of their daily commutes in the city.
Helping to illustrate the story, an accompanying lookbook layers static images of the respective campaign stars with dynamic shots of runners in motion. The distinct contrast of these two communities is further highlighted by editorial styling, which places the hero duo in a wardrobe of athleisurewear pieces while runners are dressed in lightweight T-shirts and shorts. Though their style and speed remain different, each image shows how the running shoe can shift seamlessly between their worlds.
To celebrate the launch of the new campaign, adidas and Zalando will be hosting an event at VollgutlagerBerlinon June 26, which is set to explore the relationship between speed, light, and motion. The immersive showcase will deliver DJ sets and futuristic exhibits as well as interactive installations.
Stay tuned to the brand's channels to find out more about the upcoming event. You can also shop the adidas Adizero EVO SL on Zalando'swebsitenow.

Mexico Wants Adidas to Pay Up After Indigenous-Inspired Collaboration with Willy Chavarria

Mexico is looking for footwear giant Adidas to pony up after a Mexican-American designer, Willy Chavarria, working with the firm launched a shoe inspired by a traditional Indigenous sandal, authorities said on Friday. Chavarria, who has been hailed in the United States for his work bringing Latino issues to light - including his controversial collection touching on the alleged gang members locked up at El Salvador's notorious CECOT prison - recently dropped the 'Oaxaca Slip On' shoe, a sneaker sole topped with the weave of Mexico's huarache sandals. Critics in Mexico argued that the shoe uses the name of the southern Mexican state, a major manufacturer of the traditional leather sandals, while Chavarria's design is manufactured in China and Indigenous artisans received no credit or benefit from the multinational firm. 'Big companies often take products, ideas and designs from Indigenous communities,' Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum said in her morning press conference. 'We are looking at the legal part to be able to support them.' Deputy culture minister Marina Nunez confirmed that Adidas had contacted Oaxacan officials to discuss 'restitution to the people who were plagiarized.' Marina Nunez Bespalova, Mexico's undersecretary of cultural development, speaks during President Claudia Sheinbaum's morning press conference at the National Palace to condemn Adidas and U.S. designer Willy Chavarria over the 'Oaxaca Slip On' shoe, accused of misappropriating a sandal design rooted in Zapotec Indigenous heritage. The dispute is the latest by Mexico to protect its traditional designs from global fashion firms, having previously lodged complaints against Zara-owner Inditex and Louis Vuitton. Chavarria said in a statement on Saturday that he was 'deeply sorry that the shoe was appropriated in this design and not developed in direct and meaningful partnership with the Oaxacan community.' His approach fell short of the respect the community deserved, he said, stating that his intention had always been to 'honour the powerful cultural and artistic spirit of Oaxaca and its creative communities,' the statement added. Adidas did not respond to a request for comment. Chavarria, born in the United States to an Irish-American mother and a Mexican-American father, had told Sneaker News in a prior interview that he had intended to celebrate his cultural heritage through his work with Adidas. Real Madrid to bring back iconic colour scheme for 2026/27 away kit

The 2025-26 season has not yet begun and Real Madrid have their preparations running in full flow for the campaign ahead. Adidas, however, have already begun preparations for the team's jersey for the 2026-27 season and rightfully so. Designing a kit for a club of Real Madrid's stature, after all, requires a real eye for detail, hand for intricacy and a creative mind that can bring out ideas through vibrant colours and bold designs. While the home kit has traditionally remained white for Los Blancos, the away kit has provided designers with an open palate to put up bold designs. A unique colour Opaleak bring to light that Real Madrid's 2026-27 away kit will be no different. Adidas are reportedly set to hero the colour green in Real Madrid's away kit for the 2026-27 campaign and it will be a dark olive tinged shade of the colour that features. The plan is to bring a pattern inspired by the crest of the club for the jersey and the specific colour in use will be the Aurora Ivy shade. Notably, the jersey will be completed with the Trefoil logo instead of the traditional Adidas logo. Real Madrid had green jersey in the 2012-13 season. (Photo by) Green jerseys have not traditionally been worn by Real Madrid but that does not go to say that there is no history for Los Blancos with such a colour combination. Most notably, a similar combination was donned by Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. in the 2012-13 season on the away kit. Notably, a similar shade of green will also feature in a minor capacity in Real Madrid's home kit for the 2026-27 campaign although that design too is yet to be clearly known.

Alexis Mac Allister gives Richard Hughes ANOTHER headache

Liverpool have an imperious midfield and it's exciting to watch the group play with each other. The trio of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch that were essential to our success last season, winning the Premier League title with a 10 point cushion, has been built upon. 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the goalkeeper range today LFC x adidas Shop the new adidas range today! Florian Wirtz fits both the age profile and the tactical profile of Arne Slot's side, while giving the team a whole new dynamic with added creativity and goal contributions from the heart of the engine room. 🔴 His arrive can only really be looked at as a good thing and you feel the squad now finally has the depth it needs to perform at consistently high levels, eliminating an inevitable end of season drop off. But the Reds will start the season without everyone firing on all cylinders and it's a little concerning. Alexis Mac Allister still hasn't recovered yet Of course, it shouldn't be suggested that the Argentine will be involved in any transfer business throughout the remainder of the summer. Eventually things will turn around for him - although Richard Hughes will note that the central midfielder isn't quite up and running yet, so a potential midfield target for next summer's window might be considered, if things don't start to change. But let me explain a little more about where I'm coming from. Last season, Mac Allister was probably Liverpool's best midfielder. Gravenberch took the Young Player of the Season award and Mohamed Salah was recognised for the senior accolade, but no one was under the impression that Mac Allister couldn't have also been nominated himself. The partnership he developed with Gravenberch in a double-pivot was a sight to behold and towards the end of the season, you could tell that he was flagging after such an intense football calendar. Slot recognised this and once Liverpool had played Arsenal on May 11, the Argentine was rested until the offseason began. He was absent from the squads for Brighton (A) and Crystal Palace (H). At that point the team results didn't matter, the title was won. Mac Allister's fitness was paramount. However, he was absent from the pre-season fixtures against Preston and AC Milan, and played limited roles against Yokohama FM and Athletic Club. Furthermore, he was given just 19 minutes in the Community Shield against Crystal Palace. It's clear that something is holding him back. A few days ago, Arne Slot gave an update on his fitness and suggested that he had picked up an injury, although the specific nature of his problem has yet to be officially reported by the club. The head coach said: "He was out for two months, I think, or longer because we didn't play him in the last four games of the season. He trained with us since a week now, played 30 minutes, 45 minutes. "So that's not a situation where you would start a player [and] play him for 90 minutes. Starting is possible, but definitely not for 90 minutes." We're now left with a bit of a mystery as to what happens when Bournemouth travel to Anfield on Friday to kick off the Premier League season, and an unavailable Mac Allister is a significant loss. Eventually, you hope that he will return to his usual self and Slot will then have far more options in midfield to utilise than he has now. Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones appear to be the chosen two playing behind Florian Wirtz for the foreseeable, although that will likely change moving forward. But it's worth keeping an eye on Mac Allister, because something still doesn't feel right and if he's hampered throughout the campaign, then Richard Hughes will soon have a headache on his hands, finding someone out there in the transfer market who can help to supplement his role in the side.
