Cars, homes riddled with bullets after double shooting critically injures man, 30, in SW Philly: police
One man is fighting for his life while another is recovering after a violent shooting in Southwest Philadelphia.
Investigators found multiple bullet holes in nearby vehicles and a home while on the search for the suspect or suspects.
SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are investigating after a double shooting left a 30-year-old man in extremely critical condition and hospitalized another man.
What we know
Philadelphia police responded to a person with a gun report Friday night, around 10:15, on the 7000 block of Paschall Avenue, in Southwest Philly.
When they arrived, they found a car in the street marked with dozens of bullet holes and two men suffering with gunshot wounds. One man was in the street, while the other was inside the vehicle.
Both men were rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where one victim, 30, was listed in extremely critical condition. The second victim, a 22-year-old man, is recovering.

During their preliminary investigation, police found the vehicle had been heavily shot at and that cars parked nearby and a home all had bullet holes in them. No other injuries were reported.

Temporary restraining order issued for release of Kohberger crime scene photos, other docs
The city of Moscow was served a notice of a restraining order to temporarily halt the release of additional public records related to the University of Idaho murders case. The family of Madison Mogen, one of the students killed by Bryan Kohberger in an off-campus house in 2022, sued the city of Moscow to stop the release of crime scene photos. This came after the city of Moscow released redacted photos of inside the King Road home after the quadruple murders. Some photos were blurred and others showed the inside of the home with minuscule or no blood in the photos. The family does not want crime scene photos of their daughter released. Other victims' families have publicly said the same sentiments, though it's unclear if they have filed any kind of legal action to block the release of these photos. The restraining order is for Latah County (where the crime took place), Ada County (where Kohberger appeared in court) and the city of Moscow (where the crime took place). On August 15, 2025, Idaho Second District Judge Marshall issued a temporary restraining order prohibiting the City's release of any images, audio, or video depicting the inside of Madison Mogen's bedroom until a hearing on the preliminary injunction may be held. Judge Marshall found that major portions of what had been released did not constitute an unwarranted invasion of privacy, according to the city of Moscow. However, Judge Marshall stated that there are portions of videos and photographs in their redacted form, specifically including unreleased bodycam video, that 'could constitute an unwarranted invasion of privacy at this time.' 'While the Temporary Restraining Order only applied to Madison Mogen's bedroom, the City will not provide any further releases of photographs or videos depicting the inside of any of the victims' bedrooms until the matter is fully reviewed and decided by the Court,' the city said.

Hit-and-run driver arrested after deadly wrong-way crash in San Bernardino County
A hit-and-run suspect was arrested after a wrong-way crash left a person dead in San Bernardino County. The suspect was identified as Teri Leanne Jones, 43, of Adelanto, according to the California Highway Patrol. On Aug. 3, CHP officers responded to a crash on El Mirage Road, just west of El Mirage Airport Road in Adelanto, around 8:30 a.m. An investigation revealed the suspect was driving the wrong way on the dirt shoulder when she decided to make an 'unsafe turn' in front of an oncoming Honda Civic. The Honda driver tried to quickly turn away to avoid the crash, but the maneuver caused his vehicle to flip over and off the roadway. Investigators said the suspect, who was driving a Subaru Forester, fled the scene after noticing the victim's significant injuries. The victim was airlifted to the hospital where he later died. His identity was not released. CHP investigators found the Subaru Forester and identified Jones as the suspect involved. On Aug. 6, she was arrested for felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter charges. 'The CHP takes hit-and-run crashes and unsafe driving seriously and will diligently work to investigate these incidents,' said CHP Victorville Area Commander Captain Todd Kovaletz.
