Horse racing tips: ‘She's bred to be speedy and is drawn well' – Templegate's NAP a winner-in-waiting
Back a horse by clicking their odds below.
WATEEN (4.00 Lingfield, nap)
This sharp filly improved markedly to finish second at Doncaster last time, posting a strong speed figure in the process. She's bred to be speedy, is drawn well, and has more to offer in a race where most of her rivals lack experience.
MAKES ME WONDER (2.45 Yarmouth, nb)
She showed her liking for this track when scoring here over seven furlongs in April. The form of that contest has worked out very nicely and anything like that performance would be good enough.
BANKSMAN (5.15 Yarmouth, treble)
He has his sights lowered slightly here after going down in a photo at Brighton last time out. He is drawn to attack and this looks a cracking chance to get off the mark for in-form trainer Jack Channon.
SAWGRASS (3.30 Lingfield, Lucky 15)
Has been knocking on the door and looked in need of this longer trip when third at Beverley last time. She can score off this mark.

Ombudsman impresses in Juddmonte International at York
Ombudsman came out on top in an exciting renewal of the Juddmonte International Stakes at York. The 7-4 favourite was ridden by William Buick for John and Thady Gosden, with the fellow Godolphin-owned runner Birr Castle sent out to make the running as a rank outsider in the field of six. The latter horse was afforded an enormous lead and as he rounded the turn for home it looked quite possible that the chasing pack would not catch him, but as he tired, Ombudsman was gaining ground. He eventually swept through to grab the lead and while Delacroix also made late gains, Ombudsman emerged a three-and-a-half-length winner. Ombudsman follows up Royal Ascot glory and his Coral-Eclipse second with a thrilling success in our highlight of the year, the £1.3m Juddmonte International Stakes. Congratulations to William Buick, John and Thady Gosden and @godolphin @JuddmonteFarms — York Racecourse (@yorkracecourse) August 20, 2025

Templegate's Tote Placepot tips with £250,000 guaranteed on day two of York Ebor Festival
Scroll down for the selections POT PICKERS Templegate's Tote Placepot tips with £250,000 guaranteed on day two of York Ebor Festival TEMPLEGATE'S Tote placepot picks for day two of York are below. Don't forget, you can bet £10 and receive £50 in free bets to use on horse racing with Tote. LEG 1 Royal Fixation, Staya 1 Minnie Hauk will be a short price but looks a good thing on day two of the Ebor Festival Credit: PA Advertisement ROYAL FIXATION can swoop late to land the Lowther. She surged home for second in the Duchess of Cambridge at Newmarket on just her second start, clocking a smart speed figure and shaping like a filly with loads more to come. STAYA also caught the eye finishing fast in a strong Group 3 at Ascot and will be running on late. LEG 2 Golden Brown, Song Of The Clyde Advertisement GOLDEN BROWN was really unlucky in a hot contest at Godowood last time. He was knocked sideways inside the final quarter-mile before keeping on. He's unexposed, back on quicker ground and this stronger pace should suit. SONG OF THE CLYDE is progressive and has place claims in what looks an open race. LEG 3 Remmooz, Bullet Point Advertisement REMMOOZ looked a Group horse in the making when winning on handicap debut over course and distance last time. He saw off a few of today's rivals with a bit left in the tank. Owen Burrows will conjure more improvement from him even from a mark of 102. BULLET POINT is in peak form and rarely runs a bad race. He was narrowly denied in a red-hot contest at Ascot last time and will likely force the pace again from a low draw. Advertisement LEG 4 Minnie Hauk MINNIE HAUK is the clear standout in this small but classy renewal of the Yorkshire Oaks. Unbeaten this season and already a dual Oaks winner, she's been dominant over this trip and shaped as though there was plenty in the tank when grinding out victory in the Irish Oaks last month. LEG 5 Rainbows Edge, Charlotte's Web RAINBOWS EDGE has gone close a couple of times at Listed level and this is a great winning chance. Advertisement She took a fast-ground handicap over a mile at Ascot in May and proved that was no fluke when denied only a neck over 1m2f in a stronger race than this here last month. CHARLOTTE'S WEB was right behind the Royal runner last time and will be in the mix again. LEG 6 Stellar Sunrise, Amazing Journey STELLAR SUNRISE took a big step forward when winning at Goodwood last time and starts handicapping from a fair mark. AMAZING JOURNEY scored here two starts ago and was really unlucky not to finish closer than fifth at Goodwood latest.
