Inside Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's anniversary scrapbook: Unseen photos and royal flashbacks
Seven years, one royal exit, two kids and a cross-continental relocation later, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is reflecting on it all with a heartfelt anniversary post on Instagram that's part love letter, part personal scrapbook.
To celebrate her seventh wedding anniversary with Prince Harry, Meghan took to Instagram with a nostalgic tribute to the couple's journey, sharing a curated mood board filled with previously unseen photos, handwritten lyrics, and milestone memories from their relationship.
Alongside the memory board post, Meghan wrote, 'Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories.'
She continued by writing, 'Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story — we appreciate you. Happy anniversary!'
The memory board was filled with photographs marking milestones of the royal couple's love story dating from 2016.
Here's what she shared — and what it reveals about how far the Sussexes have come.
The memory board begins with a throwback selfie from London in 2016, when Meghan and Prince Harry had just started dating. Prince Harry smiles over Meghan's shoulder, a glimpse into the private beginnings of what would become a globally scrutinised romance.
Another snap shows the couple in Botswana, on their second date, shirtless Prince Harry, safari vibes, and the kind of early adventure that would later shape the symbolism of Meghan's engagement ring.
Meghan included a set of candid 'engagement photos' marked 2017. A nod to the roast-chicken dinner gone down in royal history. The
Daily Mail
reported that Prince Harry popped the question at Nottingham Cottage, surrounded by candlelight and their rescue beagle, named Guy.
His proposal?
Prince Harry got on one knee and said, 'Spend your life with me? Make me the happiest guy on the planet?'
Her answer?
'Can I say yes? Can I say yes?'
One photo from their 2018 wedding at St George's Chapel shows the Sussexes in full fairytale mode.
But tucked into the collage is a more personal touch: the handwritten lyrics of Stand By Me, the gospel version of which played during the ceremony, after ten rejected arrangements.
Yes, ten. According to choir conductor Karen Gibson, it took a face-to-face meeting at Kensington Palace and an eleventh attempt to get it 'just right.'
Among the romantic visuals is a quieter, more symbolic yet controversial choice: Meghan's personal coat of arms.
Designed in partnership with the College of Arms and approved by the late Queen Elizabeth II, it features nods to Meghan's Californian roots, golden poppies, blue skies, and rays of sunshine, alongside a crown and quill symbols representing communication.
It's a reminder of a different chapter, one that began with royal titles and ended with a cross-Atlantic reset.
One unexpected inclusion? A kiss in the kitchen of Frogmore Cottage, the Windsor home gifted by the Queen and later paid back by the couple after public scrutiny over renovations.
Though they haven't lived there since 2020, the image is a throwback to their final UK chapter and perhaps a quiet acknowledgement of where it all changed.
Meghan also shared a shot from the 2020 Mountbatten Festival of Music, where she wore a striking red gown next to Prince Harry in military dress.
It was one of their last public outings as senior royals before stepping down, and the matching scarlet outfits were as coordinated as their united front.
Among the most intimate photos were glimpses of Archie and Lilibet, a rare occurrence, given how tightly the Sussexes guard their children's privacy.
One beachside photo shows Prince Harry with both children in sunset light; another captures a sweet backyard arts-and-crafts session at their Montecito home.
In another, Archie flashes his face to the camera, a tender update on the now six-year-old who's largely grown up out of the public eye.
A throwback to their 2018 tour of Australia also made the board, a rain-drenched appearance in Dubbo, where Prince Harry addressed drought-stricken farmers and reflected on his own mental health journey.
'I've been there,' he said at the time.
'You need to talk about it.'
One photo seems to show Meghan and Prince Harry walking the sands of Holkham Bay, a location with royal ties, often frequented by Princess Catherine and previously loved by Queen Elizabeth II.
It's a subtle blend of the old and new, of monarchy and Montecito, all rolled into a windswept beach moment.
True to form, Meghan's handwritten touch was everywhere — from date labels to quotes like 'Love wins' in her signature cursive.
She's long championed the art of handwritten notes, once teaching calligraphy and gift wrapping at a Beverly Hills boutique before her acting career took off.
The sentiment? Personal, polished, and unmistakably Markle.
This wasn't just an anniversary post.
It was a curated reminder of everything the couple has shared and a gentle message that their story, for all its public twists, is still being written.

Jessie J 'so grateful for the love and support' after breast cancer diagnosis
Jessie J has thanked her fans for their outpouring of "love and support" following her breast cancer diagnosis. The 37-year-old pop star went public with her health issues earlier this week revealing she is battling an "early" form of the disease and is currently undergoing tests before surgery later in the year - and she now has expressed her gratitude to everyone who has reached out to her since she explained her situation. In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "So grateful for all the love and support and kindness from everyone who has reached out to me in the last two days." Jessie - who is mother to two-year-old son Sky with basketball star Chanan Colman - previously revealed she was given the diagnosis prior to the release of her single, 'New Secrets' on April 25 and she has been "in and out of tests" since. She said in an Instagram video: "Before 'No Secrets' came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word 'early'. "Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding onto the word early. I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period." Jessie went "back and forth" with herself about whether she should share her news, due to there being "lots of opinions outside". However, the 'Who You Are' singer felt she should tell all, particularly because of the name of her latest single, 'No Secrets', which was inspired by a miscarriage she had in 2021. She said: "To get diagnosed with this, as I'm putting out a song called 'No Secrets' right before a song called 'Living My Best Life,' which was all pre-planned before I found out about this, I mean you can't make it up. "I just wanted to be open and share it - one, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. "I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me, with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. "I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much, similar and worse. That's the bit that kills me." Jessie is still planning to perform at this year's Capital Summertime Ball on June 15 at London's Wembley Stadium, but afterwards she will undergo surgery and "disappear for a bit". She said: "It wasn't something I'd planned, but yeah. I'm getting to keep my nipples, that's good. It's a weird topic and a weird situation. "I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive t*ts and more music." The 'Price Tag' hitmaker joked: "It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job."

Nia Sanchez and Daniel Booko welcome fourth child
Nia Sanchez and her husband Daniel Booko have become parents for the fourth time. The Valley stars have welcomed a daughter named Adelaide Nicole - who joins elder siblings Asher, three, and one-year-old twins Isabelle and Zariah - and the couple shared the first picture of their little girl in a post on social media in which they declared they are "absolutely in love" with the new arrival. In a message posted on Instagram. they wrote: "Sweet little memories from Adelaide's first moments of life. We are absolutely in love! Birth story coming soon." The pair told Us Weekly they gave their daughter the middle name Nicole to honour Nia's mother, who shares the same name, because she's been such a huge help raising their family. Nia also revealed Adelaide's birth was much more "intimate" than her previous experiences in the delivery room. She told the publication: "The first moments with baby no. four felt so sweet and intimate. "In our previous birth experiences, we've had a lot more people in the room. And we've always had a doula. This time, it was just us with our doctor and two nurses. This birth was extra special because Danny was able to deliver the baby." The family recently moved into a new home in Santa Clarita, California and they are were unpacking at the time Adelaide arrived. Nia said: "We moved in about two and a half weeks before baby no. four arrived. We still have boxes everywhere and are not quite settled. But it feels great to have so much more space and a beautiful backyard for our children to play in." Nia went on to reveal she now feels as if their family is complete and they probably won't be having any more children. She explained: "This pregnancy definitely felt like a full circle moment for us. We had always talked about either wanting two children or four. 'When we skipped the line to three kids [after having twins], we began discussing no. four shortly after. We both come from families of four, so having four little ones of our own feels very full circle ... "I am really looking forward to watching all of my children grow up and be so close. We love creating special memories with our children and are excited to now do that as a family of six."

The Perth-raised pop star partied with those close to him at restaurant Casa Costa on Thursday night with a tasty menu fit for the ultimate party boy. The singer's dinner took place hours before his 1am set at the Primavera Sound festival, an annual three-day music event featuring the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Beabadoobee, Denzel Curry, Chappell Roan and Confidence Man. Sivan's special menu lineup included starters such as Iberian ham, bluefin tuna carpaccio, and grilled bass, as well as rib-eye steak for mains. The group finished off with a fancy floral birthday cake, Casa Costa flan and strawberries with whipped cream, the latter of which Charli XCX took a liking to. Sivan also posted his own birthday message, featuring a cute throwback photo of him as a youngster eating a Milo-flavoured yogurt. 'Its my birthday 😁😁😁😁😁 love you all and please come party w us at primavera tonight,' he wrote in the caption. Troye Sivan enjoyed Milo yogurt as a kid. The party guests' outfits also weren't as 'out there' as one might expect from a celebrity's milestone with Sivan opting for a striped white long-sleeve shirt and pants and Charli wearing a simple white, strapless top, sweatpants and black heels. Sivan's wholesome dinner party proved famous faces don't have to go to the ends of the earth to pull off an excessive celebration.
