Jasleen Royal is reflecting on a difficult moment while on tour with Coldplay.
The Indian singer-songwriter opened up about being booed off the stage at DY Patil Stadium in January as an opener for the British rock band's Music of the Spheres world tour in the mini-documentary Dare to Dream that premiered on YouTube on Sunday, April 6.
"There's a lot of pressure, there's a lot to prove," she says in a voiceover in the film's opening shots.

Coldplay was headed to India for their first show there in nine years to perform in Mumbai from Jan. 18, 19 and 21. The shows sold out in 13 minutes and Royal was set to become the first Indian artist to open for Chris Martin's band.
One month ahead of her ill-fated performance, Royal, 33, shared that her biggest audience before Coldplay was 30,000 people. The DY Patil Stadium holds over 45,000. "I think the universe was preparing me for this. The universe is giving me what I've asked for, and I need to prepare myself."
Royal also said she didn't want to let anyone down, including her band, team and manager. She was also grateful to Coldplay for the opportunity and for selecting her. "I hope they feel right about that decision," she says.
At one point in a confessional, she reveals that she had been better at emoting her feelings through music and hopes the audience feels the "same intensity, joy and emotion."
Upon appearing onstage for her Jan. 18 show, however, moments into her first song Royal was booed. She also received backlash online for her performance.
"I'm really sorry, but when you put a basic-to-bad singer in front of a large crowd on a large stage, all you're doing is showing more people that the individual can't really sing," Indian singer and composer Vishal Dadlani said in a Reddit post that had gone viral at the time.
"How embarrassing. For the country, the artiste, the public, and the scene." Fans assumed that he was talking about Royal.

In footage after the first show Royal asked what happened with her earpieces. "What was the problem? Why were my in-ears bursting?"
"For the technical part, we are sorry. The creative part, I leave to you," they responded.
"After a certain point, I can feel it like 'it's time to go home,' " Royal told her support onsite. "There's a lot of pressure. I'll die; I swear I'll die, I'll die. I swear I'll die."
"I'm still processing. There's a lot to process," she said in another confessional. Royal ultimately blamed her malfunctioning in-ear monitors for the poorly received performance. The equipment is crucial for her to hear herself sing, and without them her show suffered.

Despite this, when asked if she was excited for the second show, she said yes. Her second show opening for Coldplay was successful with fans excited about her performance. Reflecting on the second show, Royal said she knows she's not perfect and keeps trying to better herself.
"But I just want to put on a great show where people have a great experience."
One of her goals in a 2018 email she wrote for a friend included "international collaborations on the level of Coldplay." She wound up doing just that in 2025, collaborating with the band on "WE PRAY."
Royal's onstage incident was overshadowed at the time by Coldplay's comments regarding British colonialism on India. "It is amazing to us that you welcome us even though we are from Great Britain," Martin," 48, said at one show, per Billboard.
"Thank you for forgiving us for all of the bad things that Great Britain has done." Fans had mixed reactions to the viral moment.

Prince George's Aura Goes Viral: 'Future King'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Prince George's confident stride as he walked with Prince William's aide went viral after a behind-the-scenes moment from King Charles III's coronation resurfaced. George was a couple of months off his 10th birthday when Charles and Queen Camilla were crowned in a historic ceremony at Westminster Abbey, in London. Dressed in red robes for his role as a page, George walked purposefully behind a waiting gold carriage and horses, alongside Lieutenant Commander Rob Dixon, then equerry to Prince William. Prince George watches an RAF flypast from the balcony of Buckingham Palace after King Charles III and Queen Camilla's coronation at Westminster Abbey, in London, England, on May 6, 2023. Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images Why It Matters The clip was liked 16,400 times and viewed 161,400 times having been posted with the message: "Prince George's aura." What to Know The footage appears to show Prince George outside Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023, alongside the other pages while horses and a gold carriage are lined up nearby. William's equerry looks to have pulled George out of the crowd in order to escort him away from the other pages, no doubt on an important coronation mission of some kind. George joined three other pages, including sons of close royal family friends, to assist with the king's heavy ceremonial robes throughout the elaborate service. Despite the high-pressure setting—broadcast globally and steeped in centuries of tradition—George's poise and focus endeared him to viewers and royal watchers. King Charles' coronation was a rare moment for the royals, in that not one but two future kings actively took part, with Prince William also having a key role. During the ceremony, the Prince of Wales knelt before Charles and delivered "Homage of Royal Blood." This involved placing his hands between the king's as he pledged: "I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge my loyalty to you and faith and truth I will bear unto you, as your liege man of life and limb. So help me God." William touched the crown and kissed his father's cheek before the king replied: "Thank you, William." What People Are Saying One fan replied, "HE'S THE AURA," while another wrote: "The future king." Not everyone was convinced, however, with one user replying: "No hate but some of y'all just glaze them a lil too much he's just walking it's ridiculous honestly." The Reason Why Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Broke Up

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have apparently ended their relationship after almost a decade together. News of the longtime couple's split has been rumored for weeks, but was confirmed by Us Weekly, who spoke to an anonymous source that said "Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It's not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life." The insider added the breakup has been "a long time coming" since things "have been tense for months" and they've been "living apart since Katy has been on tour." Meanwhile Katy is "keeping busy" and "is distracted." Katy and Orlando got together back in 2016 when they were spotted flirting at the Golden Globes. They then broke up in 2017, with their reps issuing a joint statement to People saying "Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time." Around the same time, Katy tweeted this: They were back together by early 2018, and Orlando popped the question on Valentine's Day 2018: The couple went on to welcome their daughter, Daisy Dove, in 2020. In April of last year, Orlando opened up about their relationship during On Purpose With Jay Shetty, saying "I think I'm constantly learning to let go. Because anything that I try to hold onto, whether it's good or bad, doesn't serve me. Not in the relationship, and it doesn't really serve either of us. And that's really hard. To keep letting go and to keep letting her go." He added, "I think when you are in a deeply loving, committed relationship, you want to control or own or have and, you know, even just letting go of ideas, how things should be, or the idea of what intimacy or intimate moments are to you versus them, or whatever it may be." FYI, Katy and Orlando's last public appearance together was at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in March 2025:

How Hailey Bieber And Charlize Theron Are Embracing Lemonade Nails This Summer

Our British weather may be unpredictable, but when it comes to summer nails, we're fully embracing sunny manicures and it seems like stars such as Hailey Bieber and Charlize Theron got the memo, too. Both celebs were spotted wearing lemonade yellow nails, one of the biggest nail colour trends this season. Eschewing her usual penchant for chrome and navy tips, Bieber went with bright, cheerful canary nails complete with tiny polka dots created by her longtime nail collaborator, Zola Ganzorigt. This isn't the first time Bieber's embracing yellow. In spring 2023, she took on the colour trend with a high-shine, chrome finish. The intricate spots make for a joyful detail that feels fresh yet grown-up and refined for summer. It's a hue that fellow manicurist Michelle Humphrey is a big fan of. 'It's giving sunshine in a bottle!', she previously told ELLE, name-checking Essie Essie Rev It Up and Atelier At The Bay as firm favourites. Polka dots are also proving to be one of summer's biggest nail trends. The simple nail design is excellent for festival season. Elsewhere, Charlize Theron attended The Today Show in New York City with an unexpected lemonade manicure in an understated half-moon pattern. Manicurist Mo Qin gave Theron's fingertips an immaculate, clean base and added a pop of yellow in a crescent shape just on the base of the nail. For those who favour a neutral or dark colour palette in their wardrobe, yellow nails are a great way to experiment with punchier colours without overwhelming the senses. Not a fan of a bold block of colour? Take a cue from Theron's interpretation. 'If you don't want to commit to the full yellow colour, you can just add little accents and still be part of the trend,' agrees the manicurist Julia Diogo. Your next manicure look, sorted.
