Savvy Cowboys fans focusing on development, changes to offensive line
For good reason, too. The Cowboys have invested a lot into their offensive line as of late. They've filled three of the five starting spots with first rounders, they've hired a high-profile O-line coach, and they even made one of the best line coaches in the game their new offensive coordinator. Offensive line is a focus for the fans because it's clearly a focus for the team.
Everything runs through the offensive line this season. The Cowboys went the thrifty route at running back and avoided adding anyone who might deliver extra rushing yards over expected. It means the running game will be at the mercy of the blockers up front. It's a great strategy if the blockers are good, but problematic if they aren't.
Similarly, the passing game is reliant on the offensive line as well. Dak Prescott has some exciting targets to throw to in 2025, provided he gets enough time in the pocket to get his passes off. It's why the health and progress of Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele are so important to fans and why everyone waited with bated breath as each tackle suffered their own respective injuries over the first portion of camp.
After suffering a mild high ankle sprain last week, Steele has made his way back onto the field and made his impression felt. When Guyton excited the field on Monday he did so by his own power. The hope was he'd have a similarly short absence but as fortune would have it, it's a bone break.
Luckily for the Cowboys there are a few emergency fill-in options on the roster and even a few contingency plans outside the organization. None of those options are optimal but frankly Guyton himself represents a wild card this season.
Tyler Booker, this year's first-round pick, has been experiencing the typical rookie struggles in camp. Concern peaked when he was replaced on the first team by Robert Jones for a hot minute. Unfortunately, Jones suffered a significant neck injury that could keep him out for months. It may not be ideal circumstances, but Booker is back in the driver's seat as the starting right guard.
With so many viable guards on the roster Booker isn't going to get a free pass. Sure, it's his job to lose but T.J. Bass, Brock Hoffman, Saahdiq Charles and Asim Richards are no pushovers. Booker has to live up to his expectations and based on his personality type and work ethic, there's a good chance he'll do just that.
It's all about the offensive line in 2025 and Cowboys fans can't take their eyes off the action.

Elite, 4-star PF Julius Avent includes Spartans as a finalist
Michigan State basketball is one of five schools still in the running for a big-time power forward prospect in the 2026 class. Julius Avent of Oradell, N.J. revealed his five finalists on Wednesday, which happened to include the Spartans. According to a social media post from On3 recruiting insider Joe Tipton, Avent is down to the following five finalists: Michigan State, Xavier, Seton Hall, Penn State and Providence. Avent is a four-star prospect in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. He holds a recruiting rating of 96.94 and ranks as the No. 87 overall prospect in the class. He is also listed as the No. 12 power forward and No. 3 player from New Jersey. Michigan State is one of nearly 10 schools to extend him an offer, according to 247Sports. Along with his other four finalists, he also has offers from Mississippi State, Villanova, Washington and George Washington. Avent is scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan State on August 30. It will be the first of five official visits to each of his finalists, according to 247Sports. North Carolina could bring back iconic uniform for 2025 football season
Will the Tar Heels bring back an iconic uniform? The excitment around the North Carolina Tar Heels' football program is at an all-time high as they get ready to usher in a new era under Bill Belichick. As the legendary head coach begins his first season with the program, many are hoping he can turn things around. There will be a lot of attention on the program nationally as well. Belichick is obviously a big name in the business and landing a head coach like him was huge for the program. It also opened up the door for new opportunities in terms of revenue and fun ideas for the program. That includes the return of a classic uniform possibly this season. Per Taylor Vippolis of Inside Carolina, the Tar Heels have placed an order for the 1980's throwback uniform, hoping to wear them this year. The Tar Heels brought back the navy uniforms a few years back which ended up being a hit. This classic uniform is a fan favorite, donned by Lawrence Taylor among other Tar Heel legends. Bringing it back would be a HUGE hit with the fanbase and with Belichick's ties to Taylor, it makes a lot of sense. There's no word on if these were approved or what games they would wear them for but I can't see why they would say no. Let's hope we get to see these at some point this season.
