Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Asit Modi Slams Trolls, Says 'Creating Fresh Content Not Easy'
Asit Modi explained that even though he listens to "constructive" criticism, he does not give importance to those who are questioning the show for the sake of spreading negativity.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been running for over 17 years now. While the show often rules TRP charts, a section of the audience feels that Asit Kumarr Modi's sitcom has also lost its charm over the years. In a recent interview, Asit Modi gave a befitting reply to trolls. He explained that even though he listens to 'constructive" criticism, he does not give importance to those who are questioning the show for the sake of spreading negativity around his show.
'I don't give much importance to criticism unless it's constructive. If someone points out something valid, I try to work on it right away. See, there are two kinds of criticism. One is the kind of people who do just for the sake of it, especially on social media these days. The other kind actually helps you grow, and that's the one I pay attention to. I also believe that those who appreciate our work have every right to point out our flaws too. That's why I focus on staying true to my story," Asit Modi told ETimes.
The TMKOC maker explained that in the early episodes, 'the storyline was different. Tapu Sena was much younger. Now, they've all grown up, and so have the actors playing them. But the audience accepted this change."
Asit Modi further argued that the heart of his show lies in its humour, which remains unchanged over the years. 'Creating fresh and funny content isn't easy, especially when audiences re-watch episodes and can quickly recognise repetition. That's the challenge; we constantly push ourselves to keep things new and entertaining, knowing that the audience is sharp and expects nothing less. A fresh story each day, but one that connects with people emotionally. They've been watching the show for 17 years, and they trust me. That's a big responsibility. It's not always easy. People will always find something to criticise and that's okay. Even big movie stars get trolled. It's just a part of the job," he added.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah premiered first premiered in July 2008. The show has been on the top of the TRP charts for the last three weeks.

Bruce Willis, 70, Can No Longer Speak, Read Or Walk: What Happened To The Die Hard Actor?
Last Updated: Bruce Willis, diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, can no longer speak, read, or walk, according to recent reports. His condition is said to be stable though. Hollywood icon Bruce Willis, celebrated for unforgettable roles in Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, and The Sixth Sense, is reportedly facing a heartbreaking decline in his health due to frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Recent reports claim that the 70-year-old actor is no longer able to speak, read, or walk as the degenerative condition progresses. Willis was initially diagnosed with aphasia in 2022, which later advanced to FTD, a rare form of dementia affecting areas of the brain responsible for language, behaviour, and movement. The actor's condition has continued to evolve, though his family stated in April 2025 that his health remains 'stable." Sources close to the actor report that he has become mostly non-verbal and is unable to engage in reading or written communication. While no official statement has confirmed new mobility issues, reports suggest that Bruce now struggles with basic motor functions. Despite the challenges, Willis remains surrounded by a devoted support system. His wife Emma Heming Willis, ex-wife Demi Moore, and their children have stood by his side, often sharing family updates and expressing gratitude for the global love and support. Frontotemporal dementia is distinct from Alzheimer's disease, primarily targeting behavior and language rather than memory in its early stages. It often affects individuals between the ages of 45 and 64. Initial symptoms may include personality changes, difficulty finding the right words, and impaired judgment. Over time, individuals may lose the ability to speak, write, or move independently. Bruce Willis' diagnosis has brought significant public attention to FTD, highlighting the emotional and physical toll it takes on patients and their families. In the face of this devastating condition, the Willis family continues to promote awareness and advocate for patience and compassion. While fans around the world mourn the loss of the vibrant, action-hero image of Bruce Willis, they continue to send strength and prayers to the actor and his loved ones. His legacy as a Hollywood legend remains untouchable. First Published: July 23, 2025, 00:12 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
