Lorraine star takes swipe at Meghan Markle before admitting 'that was ruder than I thought'
A star on ITV's Lorraine has taken a cheeky swipe at Meghan Markle, just minutes into the show.
Introducing the Hollywood segment, LA correspondent Ross King cut in to announce his 'shocking news'.
The presenter went on to discuss Meghan's plans to cut back from the products she sold earlier this year.
'Let's not mention jam, let's say it was spread,' he began, talking about the Duchess' infamous jams, which sold out in minutes when she originally launched.
He then quipped: 'Meghan Markle spread… That in itself sounds somewhat ruder than I thought it was going to be.'
Ross went on to comment that it was never known how many jars of her spread had been sold, saying: 'Well done, she sold out, but here is the bit of sad news that I bring to the world this morning.'
As Lorraine could be heard giggling in the studio, Ross continued: 'You might not be able to get it ever again.'
He laughed that it was hardly shocking, before explaining that Meghan had hinted new plans away from jam.
Meghan's As Ever launch in April sold out in 45 minutes, with products like jam, honey and herbal teas being introduced.
But in the final episode of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, she announced she plans on taking a 'step back, gather data from the launch, and figure out exactly what As Ever could be.'
She went on: 'I want to really focus on the hospitality angle of As Ever, but as we take the learnings, we can understand what the customer's needs are seasonally.'

'My heart is very deeply in my home. Everything comes from being rooted in the love story of your home and garden, and then you can imagine different verticals coming out of that.'
When probed on if she could move towards a clothing line, Meghan replied: 'Fashion is a category I plan to explore down the line because I find it to be an interesting space for me.'
As per Fast Company, she added: 'If I had to write a résumé, I don't know what I would call myself.'
On her As Ever website, Meghan's $12 Herbal Lemon Ginger Tea and $15 Flower Sprinkles sold out along with shortbread and crepe mixes, though the website hints 'more coming soon'.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.

Gladiators thrown into chaos as four stars injured while filming new series
Filming for the new series of Gladiators has been thrown into chaos after a number of its stars got injured during filming for the new series, as the programme prepares to return to our screens Filming for the new series of Gladiators has been thrown into chaos after a handful of stars were injured on the set. The latest batch of episodes for the BBC programme, which was revived in 2024 with father-and-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh at the helm, is currently in production but things have not gone entirely to plan. Legend, Bionic, Diamond and Athena are the four stars of the series that have been landed with injuries. Legend, whose real name is Matt Morsia, tore a bicep, whilst Matty Campbell, who is better known to fans as Bionic, has dislocated his shoulder. Livi Sheldon, whose Gladiators alter-ego is Diamond, ruptured the ACL and MCL in her knee. As well as all that, Athena, whose real name is Karenjeet Kaur Bains, smashed her knee. Speaking about the incidents, a source told The Sun: "Gladiators is the ultimate test of speed, strength and endurance - and four of its champions have paid the price. It just goes to show that these games are tough and even our professionals can suffer injuries!" It comes as ITV axes Noel Edmonds' big TV comeback after just one series. READ MORE: Final Strictly Come Dancing star announced as fans fume over 'underwhelming' line-up According to the outlet, all of the injuries were sustained at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield whilst cameras were rolling for the next series of the programme. But despite the individual ordeals, it has been claimed that all the stars will feature when the show goes to air later this year, and they will also all be taking part in the live tour when that hits the road this autumn. But this is not the first time that the stars have suffered such injuries, as fans will remember that Comet, real name Ella-Mae Rayner, broke her ankle and had to undergo an operation to rebuild her foot. What's more, Sheli McCoy, better known as Sabre, tore her hamstring during production, and at the time noted to Metro that the 'competitive' nature of her job meant that nothing on set 'came without risk.' However, a spokesperson for the BBC previously insised that health and safety is taken seriously on the set as they said: "The health and well-being of all Gladiators, contenders and crew is of paramount importance. Gladiators is one of the toughest and most physically demanding programmes on TV and due to the high-impact nature of the show it is not unusual for those competing to suffer injuries. "In each instance, as soon as it became apparent that a potential injury had occurred, the correct protocol was immediately followed. "The injured Gladiators are currently following medical advice and working on their recoveries.' This is the second time Gladiators has been revived on television since starting life in the 1990s, and, Athena, Bionic, Comet, Cyclone, Diamond, Dynamite, Electro, Fire, Fury, Giant, Hammer, Legend, Nitro, Phantom, Sabre, Steel, and Viper will be back on screen in 2026. The BBC's version of the hit became the most watched Saturday night series on BBC iPlayer and the third most watched Entertainment series overall. The show averaged 5.3m viewers, with nearly two fifths streaming on demand. The revival of the show has also capture younger viewers with 1.3 million tuning in for each episode, accounting for nearly a quarter of the show's overall audience. Speaking on the news, Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC says: 'Audiences have loved getting together to watch our mighty Gladiators take on contenders from all across the UK with younger fans especially excited to cheer on their Saturday night superheroes. "With this brand-new series and another Celebrity Special confirmed there will be even more epic battles, more high-octane action and of course even more foam fingers than ever before for everyone to look forward to!" Before the next series hits screens, fans will be able to catch Nitro competing in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, and he will be putting his footwork to the test for judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke. Also known as Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, he appeared in last year's Christmas edition of the programme. Upon his casting for the main competition, he said: "After the Christmas Special, it was so nice I just had to do it twice! I'm so excited to be part of the Strictly family this series and I'm ready to give it all I've got. I'll be bringing tons of energy to light up the dance floor. Let's hope I'm as quick picking up the routines as I am on the track!"

Princess Andre reveals why she'd never call out mum Katie Price over ‘rift' amid accusations star ‘tried to overshadow'
THE teen has just launched her own TV show - but her relationship with her mum has taken centre stage keeping mum Princess Andre reveals why she'd never call out mum Katie Price over 'rift' amid accusations star 'tried to overshadow' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRINCESS Andre has revealed the reason she never calls out her mum after a disagreement or issue. The 18-year-old admitted 'it's not worth' bringing things up with Katie Price in a telling comment amid reports of ongoing tension between the pair. Speaking to The Guardian, ITV's The Princess Diaries star, said it was 'interesting' her mum had told the media about not attending the bash. And when asked why she didn't call Katie to ask her about it, Princess said 'it wasn't worth it', adding: 'Mum can be annoyed about something and then we send each other a message and we're fine.' She candidly explained that Katie would never have been invited because her parents 'don't like each other.' 'It would be quite strange for my mum and dad to be in it at the same time, just because that's never been the case in my life since they split up,' she said. Princess turned 18 back in June, and at the time Katie claimed she wasn't invited because she had been banned from appearing in The Princess Diaries. Speaking on her The Katie Price Show podcast at the time, she said: "Everyone knows she's doing this documentary - and I'm not in it. "Certain people don't think it's good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me." Her sister Sophie chipped in: "You aren't on brand Katie. You are too risky Katie that's why." Katie then said: "It's pathetic. I'm her mother. Princess Andre breaks silence on Peter and Katie's bitter feud after his blistering statement "I'm just saying, Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming.'" Sources at the time told the Mirror that Katie has been trying to "insert herself" into Princess's career and her "attention-seeking" behaviour just 24 hours before her new ITV show aired was to "overshadow" the launch. 'It was all in the diary but then Katie claimed she couldn't make it as she was abroad. It was disappointing," a source told the publication. 'For Katie to then say she was banned from the afternoon's filmed party when she was the no-show in the morning is just beyond belief.' 3 Peter Andre appears in his daughter's doc but Katie does not Credit: Splash Katie admitted her frustrations, saying: 'I'm not making money off my daughter. So I am fuming about the situation, but at the same time, I want Princess to do well and I back her in every way. "The family, we're all fuming about it. How, again, not one member of our family or anything are involved in anything Princess does." But the source insisted that Katie should not have "made it all about her" the eve of her daughter's show, regardless of what's happened. While another source said it was "unfair" for Princess to be forced to deal with this fallout so publicly before her big TV career move.

Love Island: The Reason Ofcom Dismissed More Than 14,000 Complaints This Series
The most recent season of Love Island received the highest number Ofcom complaints in four years with many alleging that bullying, abusive behaviour and misogyny was taking place on the show. Despite receiving 14,154 complaints, a spokesperson for Ofcom has announced that they will not be further investigating the latest series. They made a similar call in 2022 after receiving 7,500 complaints about misogyny and bullying. According to the regulator, the most controversial episode aired on 24 July, which prompted 3,547 complaints about alleged bullying against Shakira Khan. Shakira ended up finishing in second place with her partner Harry Cooksley while her best friend Toni Laites won the show with her partner Cach Mercer. Yas Pettett and Jamie Rhodes finished in third. The communications regulator has decided not to open a formal investigation because the negative behaviour 'was not shown in a positive light', and was in line with what viewers have come to expect from the ITV dating show. 'We carefully assessed the complaints we received about this series of Love Island, ' the spokesperson explained. 'We recognise that emotionally charged or confrontational scenes can upset some viewers. But, in our view, negative behaviour in the villa was not shown in a positive light, and contestants were seen supporting or apologising to each other.' 'We also took into account that the format of this reality show is well-established, and viewers would expect to see highs and lows as relationships and friendships are tested.' The total number of complaints is significantly higher than last year when there were 3,500, and the highest since summer 2021 when there were 36,000 complaints filed. According to the statement, a large proportion of complaints this year were regarding allegations of racism towards Shakira. A spokesperson for ITV responded to say: 'We would take any suggestion that any editorial decisions are made based on race very seriously indeed and would refute this in the strongest possible terms.' Other complaints were about Dejon Noel-Williams' behaviour towards his girlfriend Megan Moore, the misogyny allegations leveraged at contestants such as Harrison Solomon, and the return of Megan Forte Clarke after she was dumped from the villa. ITV's terms say producers have the discretion to 'reintroduce an Islander seen in earlier stages of the competition who was previously evicted'. The channel also says participants get training in advance about 'mutually respectful behaviour in relationships' and 'behaviour patterns associated with controlling and coercive behaviour'. They also get 'comprehensive psychological support' and an aftercare package including 'support to all islanders following their participation on the show', according to a spokesperson for ITV.
