Anthony Joshua involved in VERY awkward interview after being asked about undisputed heavyweight clash between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois
Anthony Joshua struggled to keep his cool in a recent interview after being asked about the upcoming heavyweight clash between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.
Joshua has shared the ring with both men, losing twice on points to Usyk before being knocked out by Dubois at Wembley Stadium last September.
Dubois will return to Wembley on July 19 when he attempts to gain revenge for his 2023 defeat by Usyk and become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
The fight has captured the public's imagination, and Joshua was asked for his thoughts on the contest, but was in no mood to answer.
Speaking to iFL TV, Joshua said: 'I've got a few thoughts on it but I feel like I don't want to talk on it too much because it's not my fight, it's their fight. I don't want to promote their fight. I don't want to talk about it. I'll be honest with you, I don't want to talk about it.'
The interviewer, Kugan Cassius, appeared a little taken aback by Joshua's response as he pushed the former two-time heavyweight champion on why he was so reluctant to speak about the fight.
I love it when Big Femi comes out and the media training falls to the side.
I wonder if we will ever know what happened when the camera went off.

Joshua was unable to hide his frustration with the line of questioning, firing back: 'Why you asking me for? Turn the camera off and ask me about it.
'You're asking me about it in front of the bright lights and put it out in front of the media to promote your channel and their fight. I'm not doing it.'
Cassius tried to laugh off the awkward moment, reminding Joshua that the bout will be broadcast on DAZN, the same platform that he fights on.
But Joshua still didn't seem happy to elaborate on how the fight would play out.
'It's not my interest,' he added. 'But it will be a good fight and good luck to both of them.'
Joshua was more open when discussing his future with Mail Sport over the weekend when he attended Canelo Alvarez's fight with William Scull in Saudi Arabia.
The 35-year-old hinted that he is still keen to finally settle the score with Tyson Fury later this year after the Gypsy King teased a retirement U-turn last week.
However, Joshua revealed in a separate interview that he is set to undergo elbow surgery this month, which will delay his return to the ring.
He has not fought since losing to Dubois eight months ago, and now looks unlikely to make his comeback until the latter stages of 2025.

Anthony Joshua warned to avoid one opponent for comeback - 'He'd be flattened'
Anthony Joshua has not fought since he was wiped out by Daniel Dubois last September - but is eyeing a return to the ring later this year Carl Froch has told Anthony Joshua to avoid a rematch with Daniel Dubois like the plague. Joshua was knocked out in devastating fashion by his fellow Brit at Wembley last September as Dubois retained his heavyweight world title with a fifth-round stoppage. Joshua turned down the opportunity to immediately avenge his defeat and recently had surgery on his elbow which has delayed his return to the gym. Dubois will fight for the first time since last autumn when he rematches Oleksandr Usyk at the national stadium next month as he attempts to avenge his stoppage defeat by the Ukrainian two years ago. Joshua, meanwhile, is targeting a return later this year - potentially against Tyson Fury if his fellow Brit reverses his decision to retire. And Joshua has been advised to forget any desire he has to run back his clash with Dubois. 'Another fight with Daniel Dubois, forget it, Daniel Dubois, f***ing flattens him again," Froch said on his YouTube channel. "He can't beat Daniel Dubois, he will be frightened to death of getting hit on the chin, and when he does, he will be rendered unconscious again." Joshua has been coy about his next fight as Fury continues to insist he will remain retired having hung up his gloves in January following his second successive defeat by Usyk. Joshua has also been linked with a rematch with Dillian Whyte but he may instead take on rising star Moses Itauma in August. And Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed the Olympic champion could hang up his gloves as soon as next year. Hearn believes taking on long-term rival Fury is the one thing left for Joshua to do before calling it a day. 'Probably 2026 will be his last year in the sport,' Hearn said on The Ariel Helwani Show. 'I mean you never know, but thinking about it, it's probably three fights away. If I'm advising AJ I'm thinking, 'We're back this year, two Tyson Fury fights, what else is there to do?'. He maybe could fight a Daniel Dubois, but I think for me, once AJ fights a Tyson Fury, he's kind of done it all. 'I'd love him to have another crack at Dubois, I'd love him to have another crack at (Oleksandr) Usyk. If we get to 2026 and he's firing on all cylinders then 2026 won't be his last year. But for me, something feels right about beating Tyson Fury twice and then sailing off into the sunset.'

Eddie Hearn reveals likely Anthony Joshua retirement timeline as comeback delayed by injury
