Confirming the development, Solan superintendent of police Gaurav Singh said on Saturday that the four personnel had been deputed to escort Sukhu, who was headed for the national capital, and the action was taken after verifying the authenticity of the video being shared on social media.
A departmental inquiry has also been ordered.
The incident comes as an embarrassment to the Himachal Pradesh government that has taken a strong stand against drug and alcohol abuse, launching several initiatives, including awareness drives, crackdown on smuggling and plans to strengthen the rehabilitation infrastructure.
The two-minute video shows the policemen getting the crates of liquor bottles loaded in their black SUV in Chandigarh.
Since Sukhu's helicopter could not take off from Shimla owing to bad weather, the CM had travelled to Chandigarh by road from where he was going to Delhi.
The police personnel were returning to Solan when they bought the liquor from a shop and were recorded getting the crates loaded in their black Scorpio in Chandigarh.
'One of the suspended personnel is a sub-inspector, while the rest are constables,' the Solan SP said. Two of the personnel belong to the 6th India Reserve Battalion (IRB), while two are from the Solan district police force. 'The matter is being taken very seriously. Accountability will be ensured,' he said.

District Bar Association calls off strike after police lodge FIR in advocate threat case
Ludhiana: The District Bar Association (DBA) has called off its strike after Ludhiana police lodged an FIR in the case of an advocate being allegedly threatened at gunpoint. The incident took place on July 27 while the complainant approached the police on July 28. However, division number 5 police allegedly did not take action in the case at the time. An FIR was allegedly lodged in the wake of the two-day strike at the Ludhiana court by the association but it did not name the main accused, Adarsh Toor, brother of AAP district youth president, M P Jawaddi. The FIR against Sunny Gill of Dugri and his accomplices was lodged under sections 126 (2) (wrongful restraint), 351 (2,3) (criminal intimidation), 3 (5) (criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of BNS and Section 25 of the Arms Act. The complainant, advocate Harjas Singh Gill, said that police lodged an FIR mentioning only one accused, named Sunny Gill, who allegedly came to the spot later and slammed the door of his car. "Adarsh Toor, who has links with political parties, is the one who pointed a pistol at me and threatened to shoot me. However, the police, due to political pressure, did not name him in the FIR. DBA launches stir to protest against threat to advocate
Ludhiana: The Ludhiana District Bar Association (DBA) has launched a protest against the city police for failing to take action in a case involving advocate Harjas Singh Gill, who was allegedly threatened at gunpoint by a group of miscreants on July 27. DBA observed a 'No Work Day' on Monday, which will continue on Tuesday, demanding immediate registration of an FIR and action against the accused. Gill, 26, a resident of Model Town, was driving near Bansal Market, Sarabha Nagar, when he was intercepted by a group of men in a black Mahindra Scorpio and a Toyota Fortuner. According to Gill, the incident occurred while he was on a phone call and driving slowly. The SUV blocked his way, and when he asked the driver to move, the man refused and began behaving aggressively. Gill said he called his brother, also an advocate, to inform him of the situation. Meanwhile, more men arrived in the Fortuner and surrounded his car. One of them began banging on the car door, demanding that Gill step out. The man from the Scorpio then allegedly cocked a gun and pointed it at Gill's car, threatening to shoot him. The group repeatedly provoked him to exit the vehicle, but Gill managed to escape when a crowd gathered due to the roadblock. Gill had noted registration numbers of the vehicles and filed a police complaint. However, no FIR has been registered even after a week. Gill alleged that the CIA in-charge is pressuring him to compromise, citing political connections of one of the accused. He has refused to do so, saying he has no personal enmity and suspects that the attack may be linked to a case he previously handled. The DBA held a press conference on Monday, demanding swift action. DBA president Vipan Saggar said, "We waited for a week for the police to act. Caught on camera, senior Chamoli medical officer ‘hits bike with his Scorpio, drags it 100 metres', 2 seriously injured
The additional chief medical officer in charge of Chamoli district hospital has been suspended after he was accused of hitting a motorcycle carrying two people with his SUV. An inquiry into the incident showed that Dr Mohammad Shah Hasan was allegedly inebriated, officials said, adding that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the Health Department to take action against him. Videos of the incident, which took place at 1.45 pm on Saturday, showed a black Scorpio dragging a motorcycle forward after hitting it. The two people on the motorcycle, identified as Sanyam Chaudhary and Gaurav Kumar, sustained serious injuries, according to an FIR registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Gaurav's father. The complaint said, 'Dr Shah Hasan, driving recklessly, negligently, and under the influence of alcohol, hit my son's Pulsar bike head-on in front of Monal Hotel with his Scorpio, and dragged the bike for around 100 metres with his vehicle. Both my son and Gaurav sustained serious injuries. Gaurav, being in a serious condition, was referred from Rudraprayag Government Hospital to Srinagar Base Hospital (in Pauri Garhwal).' The FIR is under BNS sections 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way). Officials said that after the incident, an inquiry was ordered and the report was received by the Director General of Medical Health and Family Welfare on Sunday. The report said that Hasan was allegedly inebriated. His conduct was found to be violative of the Uttarakhand Government Servants Conduct Rules, 2002, officials said. The office of Chief Minister Dhami said that he ordered the Uttarakhand Health Department to take disciplinary action against Hasan by suspending him with immediate effect. The order by Health Secretary Dr R Rajesh Kumar said, 'Considering the serious condition of the injured individuals, and taking cognizance under Rule 4(2) of the Uttarakhand Government Servants Conduct Rules, 2002, and under Rule 4 of the Uttarakhand Appeal and Discipline Rules, 2003, the Hon'ble Governor hereby graciously approves the suspension of Dr Mohd. Shah Hasan, Additional Chief Medical Officer, Chamoli (in public interest) for the incident at Tilani, District Rudraprayag. The Hon'ble Governor further grants approval for initiating an inquiry into the matter against Dr. Mohd. Shah Hasan…under the relevant provisions of Rule 4 of the Uttarakhand Appeal and Discipline Rules, 2003.' Rajesh Kumar said there was a clear violation of conduct in this case, which the government has taken very seriously. 'Indiscipline, irresponsible behaviour, or neglect of service duties at any level will not be tolerated in the department. The incident is not only tragic for the affected families, but also damages the credibility of the entire health system,' he said. During the suspension period, Hasan will be posted at the Rudraprayag district headquarters, from where he will fully cooperate in the departmental investigation.
