
Rajasthan ACB arrests cooperative inspector for accepting Rs 2.75 lakh bribe
The accused had demanded the amount from the complainant in exchange for helping to lift the stay orders on two plots purchased through a housing society.
The ACB team pursued the inspector for nearly 20 kilometres before apprehending him.
The Acting DG of ACB, Smita Srivastava, said that the accused, Narayan Verma, had kept the complainant waiting for over an hour, moving around from Mansarovar to Gurjar Ki Thadi.
ACB officials tracked the inspector's movements, covering approximately 10 kilometres before capturing him. They also received assistance from the Abhay Command Centre.

ED seizes cash, gold worth Rs 6.8cr from MLA Sail's residence
1 2 Karwar: The officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), seized Rs 1.7 crore in cash and 6.8 kg of gold jewellery and bullion — estimated to be worth around Rs 6.8 crore — during a raid at the residence of Karwar MLA Satish Krishna Sail. In a post on X, the ED stated that search operations were carried out on Aug 13 and 14 across multiple locations, including Karwar, Goa, Mumbai and New Delhi. The raids were conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) as part of an ongoing probe against Satish Sail, other individuals and entities, who had earlier been convicted by the Special Court for MPs and MLAs in Bengaluru, in connection with the illegal export of iron ore fines. During the searches, several incriminating documents, emails, records, among other things, were found. The ED has frozen approximately Rs 14.1 crore held in bank accounts linked to Sail. It can be recalled that an extensive search was carried out by ED officials at Sail's residence at Sadashivagad in Karwar. Sail and his family members were reportedly not present in the house during the search.
