Interestingly, this slower start contrasts with earlier predictions that Prime Day sales would grow by double digits this year. Amazon hasn't yet responded directly to the report, but in an earlier statement, a company spokesperson said that Amazon is continuing to support its many different sellers during a changing retail environment. The company also said that it remains committed to offering customers low prices and a wide selection of products.
Even with the early sales dip, analysts at Wells Fargo still see strong potential in Amazon's stock. Indeed, they called it one of the best short-term opportunities among big internet companies ahead of second-quarter earnings. As a result, Wells Fargo, led by five-star analyst Ken Gawrelski, raised its 2025 and 2026 revenue forecasts by 1%, partly because of a helpful boost from currency exchange rates. The firm also raised its price target on the stock to $238.
What Is the Price Target for AMZN Stock?
Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Strong Buy consensus rating on Amazon stock based on 45 Buys and one Hold assigned in the past three months. Furthermore, the average AMZN stock price target of $245.48 per share implies 11.1% upside potential from current levels.

Labor Day TV sales are live from $69 — here's the deals I'd shop on LG, Samsung, Sony and more
Labor Day TV sales are getting underway! We're about two weeks out from the holiday itself, but there are plenty of early deals to take advantage of. For starters, right now Amazon has TV deals from $79. Some of the best TVs we've tested are included! If you're short on time, I recommend the LG 65-inch C5 4K OLED TV on sale for $1,796 at Amazon. This is our No. 1 choice for the best TV right now, thanks to its stunning picture quality, brightness and gaming features. It's on sale for $900 off its usual price — however, it has sold for as low as $1,696 in the past, so this sale could reappear closer to Labor Day itself. Keep scrolling to see all my favorite Labor Day TV sales. For savings across all categories, check out our Labor Day sales page. The B4 is LG's entry-level OLED TV model for 2024. This TV supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and has improved picture quality thanks to LG's A8 processor. For gamers, it features four HDMI 2.1 ports, a 120Hz refresh rate, a brightness booster and Game Optimizer Mode. Amazon doesn't list this as a deal, but this TV cost $1,699 at launch, meaning it has since dropped in price by $700. Part of LG's 2025 TV lineup, the LG C5 OLED is here as the value pick of the year. Offering a slew of features, like a range of HDR certifications and gaming specs for the PS5 Pro crowd, the C5 proves a major improvement over its predecessor. We called it "nearly flawless" and gave it a 5-star rating in our LG C5 OLED TV review. 42" for $1,19648" for $1,29655" for $1,396 65" for $1,796 77" for $2,49683" for $4,496 The Z95A is Panasonic's premium OLED TV. In our Panasonic Z95 OLED TV review, we called the Editor's Choice TV an absolute beast, boasting some of the most advanced features of any TV currently available. It's built on LG Display's second-gen MLA panel, which ensures it has a vast and vibrant brightness potential. It also comes equipped with a 144Hz refresh rate and a range of gaming features, including HDMI 2.1, VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium, and NVIDIA G-Sync support. It also supports all HDR formats and comes with hands-free Alexa compatibility. At the head of LG's OLED 4K TV lineup is the G5. It's one of the brightest WOLED TVs we've tested and gamers will enjoy class-leading gaming features, including four HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 4K gaming at 120Hz or 144Hz, VRR, FreeSync, G-Sync compatibility, and LG's Game Optimizer mode. Simply put, it's one of the best TVs ever made. Our 4.5-star LG G5 OLED TV review called it expensive, but incredible. The B5 is LG's most affordable OLED of 2025, but don't let that fool you into thinking that it's not a terrific TV for folks looking to save money on an OLED. In addition to supporting 4K gaming at 120Hz, the B5 also supports Dolby Vision HDR and costs significantly less than its higher-end counterparts.48" for $79955" for $1,19965" for $1,69977" for $1,79983" for $3,999 The QM6K is a quantum dot-enhanced Mini-LED TV that has a lot going for it. Its picture quality is impressive and it gets even better when you turn on picture settings like Filmmaker mode or Dolby Vision IQ HDR. In our TCL QM6K Mini-LED TV review we said its feature set, picture quality, and price point are the perfect combination for anyone looking for an affordable TV. The Hisense U8QG Mini-LED TV is one of the brightest TVs we've ever tested, but that's not the only trick up its sleeve. The U8QG is also packed with features for gaming and beyond. And, if you're an A/V enthusiast who values picture accuracy, you're sure to appreciate how well-tuned the U8QG is right out of the box. Our Sony Bravia 9 TV review said this Mini-LED TV looks almost as good as an OLED. It delivers truly incredible brightness (up to 2713 nits,) great gaming features and an excellent interface. It also has an ATSC 3.0 tuner, support for HDR10/HLG/Dolby Vision, a 120Hz refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 check: $2,298 @ Amazon This 55-inch Insignia TV offers impressive image quality no matter what you're watching. Thanks to its built-in Fire TV features, you can also stream all your favorite shows and movies and control them with your voice thanks to full Alexa support. This Mini-LED TV brings several enticing upgrades for gamers. Built on a 165Hz refresh rate with a Game Mode Ultra mode, the Hisense U7QG is designed to be the best seat in the house for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and even your PC. Add to that one serious sound system in its 2.1.2-channel speaker and you've got a powerhouse of a TV with tons of flare. Dubbed "The Frame" for its artistic inspiration, this QLED TV is opinionated in its design but looks stunning. A matte display is ideal for diffusing sunlight, and it packs Quantum HDR for a huge range of colors. TV sale: deals from $69 @ Best BuyBest Buy has smart TVs on sale for as low as $69. Keep in mind, the cheap TVs tend to be smaller, 1080p models (which are more suitable for a children's room or guest room). However, the sale also includes larger check: from $79 @ Amazon | from $88 @ Walmart If you don't need 4K resolution, this 2-Series is a budget smart TV with 1080p resolution and support for HDR 10, HLG, and Dolby Digital Audio. The included Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote lets you find your favorite content, get sports scores, control smart home devices, and more with the sound of your voice. The most affordable TV that carries the Bravia moniker is Sony's Bravia 3, and right now, it's on sale for an even lower price. Despite the Bravia 3's lack of luminance and local dimming, we appreciated the accuracy of its out-of-the-box performance in Sony's Professional picture mode in our Sony Bravia 3 LED TV review. It's priced higher than most budget-oriented 43-inch TVs, however, so you'll have to spend a bit more for Sony engineering.

Amazon (AMZN) Ups the Game With Grocery Expansion, Morgan Stanley Sticks to Buy Call
Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is one of the best big tech stocks to buy right now. On Thursday, August 14, Morgan Stanley's Brian Nowak reiterated his Buy rating on Amazon, keeping a $300 price target, citing the company's push deeper into the grocery business as a key growth driver. Amazon recently expanded its grocery offerings on to include more fresh and perishable items and lowered delivery fees for Prime members. Nowak sees these steps as positioning the company to tap into the $1.5 trillion offline grocery market. A grocery store employee stocking shelves with fresh fruits and vegetables. The company, a day ago, announced that Prime members in over 1,000 cities and towns can now get fresh groceries with free same-day delivery on orders above $25, with coverage expected to expand to more than 2,300 locations by the end of 2025. In 2024, Amazon recorded over $100 billion in grocery and household essentials sales, excluding Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh. The analyst believes that Amazon can use its scale, expansive logistics network, and data-driven operations to gain an edge over its competitors. In addition, it can combine a broader grocery selection with competitive prices and faster delivery, which can help the company to capture more market share in the category. Nowak views this initiative as a meaningful contributor to Amazon's long-term revenue trajectory, reinforcing the case for the stock at current levels. Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) operates across e-commerce, digital content, advertising, and cloud computing. Its online and offline stores offer both in-house and third-party products, while its Amazon Web Services (AWS) division runs one of the world's largest data center networks. While we acknowledge the potential of AMZN as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. Best Buy launches third-party marketplace
Best Buy launched a third-party marketplace as an effort to bring more variety to consumers on Tuesday. File Photo UPI/John Angelillo | License Photo Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Best Buy launched a third-party marketplace on Tuesday as an effort to bring more variety to consumers. Customers who go to Best Buy's website will be able to find products that weren't available before, as it allows items to be sold by third-party sellers, such as seasonal items, small kitchen appliances, cookware, furniture, and tech-related accessories like custom video game controllers. "Everything we do is really centered around the customer and their technology needs, and we do see customers actually doing a lot of consumer electronics transactions through marketplaces," Chief Customer, Product and Fulfillment Officer Jason Bonfig said in a statement. "And as a result of that, we need to make adjustments to be where the customer's at." "We're always looking for new ways to serve our customers better. Launching Marketplace is a big part of that. By opening our platform to third-party sellers, we can offer a much wider range of products, from hard-to-find accessories to niche electronics and lifestyle brands," said Frank Bedo, the chief marketplace and eCommerce Officer on the company's website. The marketplace's goal is making the Best Buy website feel more "personalized, more dynamic and more fun to shop," he add. The online marketplace is a similar approach to what other retailers are doing, such as Amazon and Walmart, which allow third-party sellers to stock, sell, and ship inventory.
