Broadway Boy heads home after Grand National fall
The horse, trained in Gloucestershire by Nigel Twiston-Davies, was leading the Aintree showpiece when he came down heavily at Valentine's Brook on the second circuit.
"Thank you for all the lovely messages, more importantly thanks to all the vets at @AintreeRaces," said Nigel's son and assistant trainer Willy Twiston-Davies on X.
"Broadway Boy is getting loaded on to the horse ambulance and coming home. Such a special horse to all of us at Grangehill Farm.
"Big thanks to Laura who has stayed with him all night."
Willy's jockey brother Sam said the horse was "stiff and sore".
Following the race, Broadway Boy and Celebre D'Allen - who was pulled up - were walked on to horse ambulances after being assessed on course by vets and taken to the racecourse stables for further assessment.
Broadway Boy's jockey Tom Bellamy was taken to Aintree University Hospital for assessment
Celebre D'Allen is trained in Somerset by Philip Hobbs and Johnson White.
"He has stayed overnight at Aintree for observation and rest and will be OK," said a post on their Facebook account on Saturday evening.

Celebre D'Allen's rider Micheal Nolan was given a 10-day suspension after Aintree stewards ruled he had continued when his mount had no more to give and was losing ground.
Meanwhile Nick Scholfield, who pulled up his National mount Monbeg Genius after the third-last fence, has announced his retirement.
The 35-year-old was third in the big race on Teaforthree in 2013 and fourth with Santini in 2022.
Scholfield, who plans to become a trainer, won the Grade One Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown in 2013 aboard Melodic Rendezvous, one of eight victories on the horse.

Donald Trump's famed Trump National Doral course will host a PGA Tour event next season, returning to the circuit after a 10-year absence, the tour confirmed on Tuesday. Doral's "Blue Monster" was a regular stop on the PGA circuit for more than half a century, hosting a tournament annually from 1962 to 2016, when it staged the WGC-Cadillac Championship. However the tournament was moved from Doral after sponsor Cadillac decided not to renew its sponsorship and a replacement sponsor could not be found. The PGA Tour, which had been sharply critical of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign rhetoric concerning immigrants, subsequently moved the event to Mexico -- prompting a furious reaction from Trump at the time. Doral has since hosted a stop on the Saudi Arabia-financed LIV Golf circuit. As of next season, however, the course will stage The Miami Championship, which will become one of the PGA Tour's nine signature events -- the elite tournaments that feature the world's best players and offer purses of $20 million. "We're excited to showcase the game's greatest players competing at golf's most iconic venues," PGA Tour chief executive Brian Rolapp said in a statement to announce the 2026 schedule. "Inspired by our players and fans, we're accelerating the Tour's evolution and ushering in a new era of innovation on and off the course." The PGA Tour has had an uneasy relationship with avid golfer Trump over the past decade. The tour issued a statement in 2015 which said Trump's remarks about Mexican immigrants were "inconsistent with our strong commitment to an inclusive and welcoming environment in the game of golf". When the PGA Tour subsequently moved its WGC event to Mexico for commercial reasons following the failure to find a sponsor, Trump reacted angrily, describing it as a "sad day for Miami, the United States and the game of golf". "They're moving it to Mexico City," Trump said at the time. "I hope they have kidnapping insurance." Trump's relationship with the PGA Tour has improved in recent years however, with the US leader involved in peace talks between the tour and LIV Golf over a possible deal to unify the two rival circuits. rcw/nf

Trump Doral makes return to PGA Tour with $20M purse Miami Championship in 2026
Trump National Doral has returned to the PGA Tour schedule. The Miami resort owned by President Donald Trump will host a PGA Tour signature event next year with a $20 million purse during the first weekend in May. The tournament will fall in the middle of a six-week stretch that begins with the Masters and ends with the PGA Championship. There will be three signature events staged in the four weeks between those two majors. "We're excited to showcase the game's greatest players competing at golf's most iconic venues," PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp said. A title sponsor for what is currently being called the Miami Championship has yet to be determined. Doral first became part of the PGA Tour schedule in 1962, but after Trump purchased the resort, it struggled to consistently secure a title sponsor. The Tour eventually moved its event from Trump Doral to Mexico City in 2016, prompting then-presidential candidate Trump to remark, "I hope they have kidnapping insurance." While the PGA Tour distanced itself from Trump Doral, Saudi-backed LIV Golf embraced it, staging tournaments there in each of the past four years. That streak, however, will end in 2026, though Trump National, just outside Washington, D.C., will host a LIV event. Ahead of LIV Golf's 2025 stop at Trump Doral, the 47th president voiced optimism about a potential merger between the two rival tours. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan even dubbed Trump the "facilitator" earlier this year, as discussions between the leagues continue without a finalized deal more than two years after it was first announced. "Ultimately, hopefully, the two tours are going to merge. That'll be good. I'm involved in that, too," Trump said in April. "But hopefully we're going to get the two tours to merge. You have the PGA Tour and the LIV Tour. And I think having them merge would be a great thing." Monahan echoed that sentiment in March. "Those talks are real. They're substantial, and they're being driven at the top levels of both organizations. Those talks have been significantly bolstered by President Trump's willingness to serve as the facilitator," Monahan said. "President Trump is a lifelong golf fan. He believes strongly in the game's power and potential, and he has been exceedingly generous in his time and influence to help bring a deal together. He wants to see the game reunified. We want to see the game reunified, and his involvement has made the prospect of reunification very real." The new Miami Championship will begin the week of April 27, 2026, with the first round played on April 30.

PGA Tour releases full 2026 schedule
It is a busy week for the PGA Tour. This week brings with it the final event of the FedExCup Playoffs with everyone congregating at East Lake to crown a winner on the season (however you define that). Scottie Scheffler won the Tour's latest event in the BMW Championship, a pretty normal occurrence, and soon enough all eyes will be set on the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. When the dust finally settles there the offseason will arrive and attention will turn to the 2026 season. The PGA Tour announced their schedule for 2026 on Tuesday and is making a return to Trump National Doral for its Miami Championship. That particular event will round out the month of May , but it will notably serve as one of the Tour's Signature Events on the season. There are eight of them in 2026. Obviously there is a lot of time between now and 2026, but if you are looking to make plans you now can do so at your own leisure.
