LOS ANGELES (AP) — The BET Awards is bringing major star power — including Kendrick Lamar, Mariah Carey, and Jamie Foxx — to celebrate its 25th anniversary on Monday.
Lamar leads the pack with 10 nominations, including album of the year for his critically acclaimed project 'GNX.' His ubiquitous diss track 'Not Like Us,' emanating from the Drake feud, received nominations for video of the year and viewer's choice award.
The awards will air live on June 9 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. Eastern.
The rap megastar made waves with his Grammy triumph, winning song and record of the year for 'Not Like Us.' He followed up with a groundbreaking halftime show, becoming the first solo hip-hop performer to headline the coveted slot. He is currently on the Grand National Tour with SZA.
Carey, Foxx, Snoop Dogg and Kirk Franklin will receive the Ultimate Icon Award, which selected due to their impact on entertainment as well as their community impact and advocacy.
Who else is nominated?
Doechii, Drake, Future and GloRilla tied for the second-most nominations with six. Metro Boomin pulled in five nods, while SZA and The Weeknd each scored four.
Who are the show's performers?
Rap icon Lil Wayne, rapper GloRilla and singer Teyana Taylor will hit the BET Awards stage.
The lineup of performers also includes rapper Playboi Carti and singer Leon Thomas.
Who will host the show?

The comedian-actor, who hosted the BET Awards in 2011, called this year's ceremony a 'black-tie affair.'
'It's a chance to reflect, cherish and honor life's unforgettable moments,' Hart said in a statement. He has a history with the network, hosting 'Comic View: One Night Stand' in 2008. He was an executive producer and one of the stars of 'Real Husbands of Hollywood' and launched adult animated comedy 'Lil Kev' on BET+.
Will there be any tributes?
The BET Awards will offer tributes to former popular hosts and performances, including the network's once-flagship program '106 & Park. '
"'106 & Park' was more than just a music countdown show; it was the heartbeat of Black youth culture and one of the highest-rated BET programs for over a decade,' said Scott Mills, BET's president and CEO. The weekday show launched in 2000 and lasted for more than a decade.
The show thrived with a video countdown, interviews and performances.
The show will reunite past hosts A.J. Calloway, Free, Julissa Bermudez, Keshia Chanté, Rocsi Diaz and Terrence J. The tribute will feature performers such as Bow Wow, Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya, T.I. and Mr. 106 & Park.

Passengers share 'weirdest' things seen on planes, including unusual foods, bare feet and barnyard animals

In the "r/delta" forum on Reddit, a user posted a provocative question recently. "What's the weirdest thing to happen to you on a plane?" the person asked — garnering some 2,000 reactions to date. The user opened up the discussion by sharing a photo of a flight passenger playing a wooden recorder while sitting in a window seat. "On landing/taxi, this fine gentleman pulled out his recorder and played 'Amazing Grace' for the other 100 or so people on the plane," the user wrote. "I'm quite happy he waited until the end of the flight." The user added that it was "by far the absolute weirdest thing I've seen inside an aircraft." Other Redditors took to the comments section to share the wildest actions they'd seen while traveling 30,000 feet high in the sky. "I got stuck in a middle seat years ago next to a young woman carrying an almost life-sized doll head with a full head of messy hair," one user wrote. "And no, she wasn't a hairdresser." Another user said, "I don't like it when people clip their toenails. I've seen it three times. Twice [in] a row across from me and another time in my same row." Commented another person, "A woman put her rooster in the overhead bin, but it got loose." Wrote one individual, "A woman across the aisle from me brought spaghetti and meatballs with her onto the plane, but she must have been in a rush because she was eating it out of one of those plastic thank-you bags." Another Redditor said there was an "old dude who kept asking me questions about my job even after I put my headphones on (multiple times) to work — couldn't take a hint and then said I was rude for not talking to him." Said yet another person, "My wife and I were sitting in 1C and 1D. The guy in 1B pulled out dental floss after the meal and started going at his mouth like he was giving himself a root canal. Full-on two-handed flossing right in his seat." A user wrote, "The weirdest I've seen was someone changing their baby's diaper on their seatback table. Yep, the entire plane smelled of dirty diaper for the rest of the flight." Another user described this: "Donald and Melania Trump impersonators [were in the] first row on a Southwest Flight. The impersonator knew that I had done a double take when I passed him by. I guess most [people] do." Gary Leff, a Texas-based travel industry expert and author of the blog "View From the Wing," told Fox News Digital that flight passengers need to be mindful of others. "Passengers have a zone of personal space on the plane that roughly corresponds to the area of their seat," said Leff. "Within that space, there are all [types] of behavior that might come under criticism (usually in the realm of personal hygiene and grooming), but it really comes down to the discretion of the individual," he added. "It really comes down to the discretion of the individual." Former flight attendant and Florida-based etiquette expert Jacqueline Whitmore told Fox News Digital about different ways in which passengers can practice proper etiquette on flights. Whitmore also noted that it's important to practice spatial awareness. "The seats may be getting smaller by the day, but that doesn't give you the right to spill over into someone else's space or put your head on another person's shoulder — unless, of course, you know that person well." As for passengers who opt to remove their shoes, Whitmore suggested putting on a pair of socks. "From an etiquette standpoint, it is rude to walk about barefooted in a public place as many germs can be transmitted from your feet," Whitmore told Fox News Digital. Leff noted that flying has become more affordable and democratized. "What that means is that all sorts of different people with different customs and expectations are now thrown together inside a metal tube," he said. "Air travel brings together disparate people in stressful times who act as though they're in private." "Then add in that people may be afraid to fly, or are traveling for emotionally stressful reasons, such as visiting family, leaving home (or escaping a bad home situation) or going to a funeral," he said. "Air travel brings together disparate people in stressful times who act as though they're in private." Leff said that he's seen people drinking too much, arguing with a spouse and traveling barefoot. "Humans are strange creatures, indeed," he added.

'Harry Potter' Star Shares Unfiltered Thoughts About Series Amid J.K. Rowling Controversy

'Harry Potter' Star Shares Unfiltered Thoughts About Series Amid J.K. Rowling Controversy originally appeared on Parade. Tom Felton still loves Harry Potter. The actor, who played Draco Malfoy in the beloved series, addressed Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling's controversial comments about the transgender community ahead of reprising his role in Broadway's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. While speaking with Variety on the red carpet at the 2025 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 8, Felton was asked if the controversy around the author's views affects his work. "No, I can't say it does," he said. "I'm not really that attuned to it...I have not seen anything bring the world together more than [Harry] Potter. She's responsible for that, so I'm incredibly grateful." 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 "The only thing I always remind myself is that I've been lucky enough to travel the world. Here I am in New York," he added. Felton is set to make his Broadway debut in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Lyric Theatre in New York City. His limited run will start on November 11 for 19 weeks. Felton, who last played Draco in 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, told Variety he looks forward to returning to his iconic role. "I think we all thought the wizarding world would slowly… that the fandom flame might douse over the years, but clearly it's not," he said. Rowling first came under fire in June 2020 when she appeared to support anti-transgender sentiments in a series of tweets, and has since made repeated comments about the transgender community. Multiple actors from the Harry Potter franchise have spoken out against the author, including Daniel Radcliffe who told The Atlantic that her comments have made him feel "really sad." Despite this, Felton told People Magazine on the Tony's red carpet that he's received plenty of support from Radcliffe as he prepares for his Broadway debut. "My old school chum, Potter, Radcliffe, has done quite a bit of Broadway, so he's holding my hand and certainly helping me through all the things that are hard to learn," he said. "But from what I gather, it's an amazing community of people. The fans are really, really gracious and excited. So I'm just thrilled to be part of it."
