Special trains between Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram for festive season
Train No 06523 will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 7.25 pm every Monday from August 11 to September 15 and reach Thiruvananthapuram North at 1.15 pm the following day (Tuesday). In the return direction, Train No 06524 will leave Thiruvananthapuram North at 3.15 pm every Tuesday from August 12 to September 16 and arrive at SMVT Bengaluru at 8.30 am the next day (Wednesday).
Additionally, train Nos 06547/06548 SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North Express Special will operate three trips in each direction.
Train No 06547 will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 7.25 pmon August 13, August 27, and September 3 (Wednesdays), arriving at Thiruvananthapuram North at 1.15 pm the next day (Thursday). The return service, train No 06548, will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North at 3.15 pm on August 8, August 28, and September 4 (Thursdays), and reach SMVT Bengaluru at 8.30 am the following day (Friday). The trains will halt at the following stations in both directions: Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayamkulam, Kollam, and Varkala Sivagiri. Each train will consist of 20 LHB coaches, including two AC 2-Tier coaches, 16 AC 3-Tier coaches, and two luggage-cum-brake vans with generator cars, SWR added.

Indian Railways on Sunday introduced the Jabalpur–Raipur Express, a new train scheduled to operate daily between the two cities. The CM thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for running this express train from Raipur to Jabalpur.(HT File photo for representation) Numbered 11701/11702, the Jabalpur–Raipur Express will depart Jabalpur at 6 am and arrive in Raipur at 1.50 pm. On the return journey, it will leave Raipur at 2.45 pm and reach Jabalpur at 10.45 pm, running all seven days of the week. The nearly eight-hour-long journey will include around eight halts. The express train will stop at Madan Mahal, Nainpur, Balaghat, Gondia, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, and Durg, providing improved travel access for commuters. The train comprises a total of fifteen coaches and is expected to offer a convenient, safe, and comfortable travel experience for passengers, according to a post by South Western Railway on its X handle. Trains such as the Amarkantak Express (12853), Durg–Jabalpur Special (01702), and Durg–Bhopal Special (02853), which currently operate between Jabalpur and Raipur, may see reduced passenger loads following the launch of this new service. By travelling on the new Jabalpur–Raipur Express, passengers will be able to cover a distance of approximately 341 kilometres in about eight hours. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off the Raipur–Jabalpur Express from platform number 7 (Durg end) of Raipur station at 9:30 am on Sunday, as reported by Dainik Jagran. The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for launching the new train service and said the people of Chhattisgarh would benefit from the improved connectivity, according to PTI. Union Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw (via video conferencing), Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, MP Brijmohan Agarwal, South East Central Railway General Manager Tarun Prakash, RPF Inspector General Munnawar Khurshid, and Divisional Railway Manager Dayanand were also reportedly present at the inauguration. This new rail service is expected to make it easier for passengers to access popular tourist destinations such as Nandanvan Zoological Park, Maa Bamleshwari Temple, Kanha National Park, Bhedaghat, and Dhuandhar Waterfall, the report added.

Onam special train services to Bengaluru, Chennai from Kerala
The Southern Railway will operate special trains on the Kerala-Bengaluru and Kerala-Chennai routes for the convenience of passengers travelling during the festive season. Train 06523 SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North Weekly Express Festival Special will depart from the SMVT Bengaluru station at 7.25 p.m. on August 11, 18, 25 and September 1, 8, and 15 and will reach the Thiruvananthapuram North station at 1.15 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, train 06524 Thiruvananthapuram North–SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Express Special will depart from the Thiruvananthapuram North station at 3.15 p.m. on August 12, 19, 26 and September 2, 9, 16 and will arrive at the SMVT Bengaluru station at 8.30 a.m. the next day. Train 06547 SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North Express Special will depart from the SMVT Bengaluru station at 7.25 p.m. on August 13, 27 and September 3 and will arrive at the Thiruvananthapuram North station at 1.15 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, train 06548 Thiruvananthapuram North–SMVT Bengaluru Express Special will leave the North station at 3.15 p.m. on , August 14, 28 and 4 September and will reach Bengaluru at 8.30 a.m. the next day. Advance reservation for the festival special trains will commence from 8 a.m. on Saturday. In addition, an Onam special train will be operating between Chennai Central and Kollam to clear the extra rush of passengers. Train 06119 MGR Chennai Central–Kollam Weekly Express Special will leave the Chennai Central station at 3.10 p.m. on August 27, September 3, and 10 and will reach Kollam at 6.40 a.m. the next day (three services). In the return direction, train 06120 Kollam–MGR Chennai Central Weekly Express Special will leave Kollam at 10.40 a.m. on August 28, September 4 and 11 and will reach the Chennai Central station at 3.30 a.m. the next day (three services).
