SEATTLE - David Byrne announced his world tour will visit Seattle this fall, along with his new album, Who is the Sky? Keep reading to learn more about the show, ticket information and more about David Byrne. David Byrne will take the stage for two nights at Seattle's Paramount Theatre on November 11 and 12, 2025. It will mark his first time performing in Seattle since 2018. His world tour kicks off in September in the U.S. and goes international starting in January 2026. The band will feature 13 musicians, singers and dancers, with many members returning from the American Utopia band. Tickets will be available to purchase on Friday, June 13, and can be found on David Byrne's website. Eager fans can also sign up for Byrne's presale now through June 12 at 10 p.m. PT. The new album, set to release on Sept. 5, was produced by the Grammy-winning Kid Harpoon, who has worked with other modern hit performers like Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus. It features 12 songs that were arranged by Ghost Train Orchestra, a New York-based chamber ensemble. Byrne noted that the album will have "more story songs than usual." In addition, Byrne released his new single "Everybody Laughs," on June 10, which will make an appearance on the new album. The song was accompanied with a music video directed by Gabriel Barcia-Colombo. What they're saying "It took me a second to realize, oh yeah, these songs are personal, but with David's unique perspective on life in general," said Kid Harpoon (also known as Tom Hull). "Walking around New York listening to the demo of 'Everybody Laughs' was so joyous, because it made me feel like we're all the same – we all laugh, cry and sing. The thing about David that resonates with a lot of people is that he's in on the joke. He gets the absurdity of it all, and all of these personal observations are his perspective on it." David Byrne is an American musician and songwriter known for being the lead singer of Talking Heads. Some of the group's biggest hits are "Psycho Killer" and "Once in a Lifetime". When the new wave band went on hiatus, Byrne transitioned to a solo career in 1989. In total, the singer has released ten solo albums, with Who Is the Sky? set to be his 11th release. The 73-year-old has been making music for more than 50 years. The Source Information in this story comes from David Byrne's website. Days Gone Studio Hit With Mass Layoff After Live Service PlayStation Game Canceled
Days Gone maker Bend Studio has been hit by layoffs. Roughly a third of the first-party PlayStation team was cut following the recent cancelation of an unannounced live service project, but Sony confirmed the studio is working on a new project now and it remains 'confident in its future and creative direction.' 'Earlier this year, Bend Studio wrapped development on a live service concept. After careful consideration, we chose not to move forward with it,' a spokesperson for Sony confirmed to Kotaku in an email. 'As the team shifts focus to its next project, we've made strategic changes to better position the studio for long-term success. As part of this transition, a workforce reduction has taken place at the studio. This decision was not made lightly, and we are extremely grateful for the meaningful contributions of all those impacted. Bend Studio has been a valued part of PlayStation Studios for decades, and we remain confident in its future and creative direction.' About 40 developers at the Oregon-based studio were laid today, as first reported by Bloomberg. The project they were previously working on was canceled earlier this year amid a purge of some internal live service projects, including an online God of War spin-off at Bluepoint Games. 'Bend Studio laid off a bunch of people today,' senior animator Robert Morrison posted on X. 'I was a part of the layoffs. I did my best. Hopefully I can find a new team to join.' Best known for the Syphon Filter espionage games in the PS1 and PS2 eras, Bend Studio later moved on to developing handheld ports of first-party franchises like Resistance and Uncharted before eventually making 2019's open world zombie blockbuster Days Gone. The game didn't review as highly as some PlayStation exclusives but still sold well. While fans pined for a sequel, the studio hasn't released a game since. Days Gone received a PS5 version earlier this year but has otherwise laid dormant as Bend Studio reportedly worked on a new live service IP. Leaked images made it appear like the now canceled game was an online multiplayer loot shooter of sorts, though no official details about the project were ever shared publicly. The Bend Studio cuts are the latest self-inflicted wound of a PS5 generation live service pivot that's left Sony conspicuously short on big first-party blockbusters. Live service spin-offs of Twisted Metal and The Last of Us were also canceled, while Concord's launch went so poorly the company refunded the game and shutdown the studio behind it which had acquired just a couple years prior. Another upcoming online shooter, Fairgame$, was recently delayed according to Bloomberg after it received negative feedback from external testing. That studio's head, Jade Raymond, departed around the same time. Update 6/10/2025 5:06 p.m. ET: Added statement from Sony. . For the latest news, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Minneapolis Utopia: David Byrne heads to the Orpheum Theatre this fall
Minneapolis Utopia: David Byrne heads to the Orpheum Theatre this fall originally appeared on Bring Me The News. For the first time in seven years, David Byrne is releasing new music. The legendary Talking Heads singer will follow 2018's American Utopia with a new 12-track album, Who Is the Sky?, which will be accompanied by a tour that brings him and a large ensemble to the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis on Nov. 3 and 4. He last passed through the Twin Cities on the American Utopia tour, playing the same downtown Minneapolis theater for a tour that later became a Broadway musical and a Spike Lee-directed concert film as well. The new album was recorded with the New York-based chamber music ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra, which also arranged the music. Who Is the Sky? also features appearances from Paramore's Hayley Williams, Smile drummer Tom Skinner, and St. Vincent, aka Annie Clark, with whom Byrne released a collaborative album in 2012. This go-round, the 73-year-old singer will perform with a 16-piece ensemble that includes musicians, singers, and dancers, some of whom were part of his American Utopia band. Similar to that tour, the announcement says that the performers "will be mobile throughout the set." The first taste of Who Is the Sky? was shared last week in a video for the anthemic "Everybody Laughs." A new music video of the Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer," starring Saoirse Ronan, was also recently released to celebrate the Talking Heads' 50th anniversary. Byrne's tour begins in September, passes through the Twin Cities in October, and will head to Australia, New Zealand, and Europe in 2026. Outside of Minneapolis, the tour's only other Upper Midwest pit stops are an Oct. 25 show at the Fox Theatre in Detroit and a three-night stand at The Auditorium in Chicago, beginning on Oct. 28. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13. A presale begins on Tuesday through the list on Byrne's story was originally reported by Bring Me The News on Jun 10, 2025, where it first appeared.
