PM Modi Jammu Kashmir visit Live: PM to land in J&K shortly for Chenab railway bridge launch

In Ramban district, security forces carried out detailed vehicle checks and deployed dog squads to ensure thorough monitoring of the area.
PM Modi will inaugurate key infrastructure projects worth Rs. 46,000 crores in Jammu and Kashmir during his visit today. This will be PM Modi's first visit to the Valley since the deadly Pahalgam terror attack.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the Anji Bridge, India's first cable-stayed railway bridge constructed in the rugged Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Following the bridge's inauguration, the Prime Minister will flag off Vande Bharat Express trains between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar. The new high-speed service is expected to significantly improve connectivity for locals, tourists, and pilgrims travelling to the Kashmir region.

Two more Naxals gunned down by security forces in Chhattisgarh, four killed so far
Security forces on Saturday gunned down two more Naxals during an ongoing anti-Naxal operation in the dense forest region of the National Park area in Bijapur district. ‘Why did you invite Modi for G7 Summit?': UK PM Carney replies, ‘India should be…'
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Friday said that it 'made sense' to have India, the fifth largest largest economy, at the G7 Summit. Carney was responding to a question on extending an invitation for the Summit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that G7 countries will hold discussions on important issues, including security and energy, in their upcoming summit, adding that India's presence at the intergovernmental political and economic forum is essential. 'There are certain countries that should be at the table for those discussions in my capacity as G7 chair consultation,' he said. 'India is the fifth largest economy in the world, effectively the most populous in the world central to a number of supply chains, so it makes sense. And in addition, bilaterally, we have now agreed importantly to continued law enforcement dialogue so there's been some progress… I extended the invitation to Prime Minister Modi in that context and he has accepted,' Carney added. PM Modi on Friday confirmed he would attend the G7 Summit in Canada after an invitation from newly elected Carney. "Glad to receive a call from Prime Minister Mark J Carney of Canada. Congratulated him on his recent election victory and thanked him for the invitation to the G7 Summit in Kananaskis later this month. India strongly denied the claims, and both nations expelled senior diplomats in a tit-for-tat escalation. 1. Telangana government proposes to expand metro rail in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD : The Telangana government has decided to expand Metro Rail network here by over 86 kms. Briefing reporters on Thursday night after the state cabinet meeting, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said it was decided to propose to the Centre to take up the metro rail expansion at a cost of Rs 19,579 crore in partnership with the state. He urged Union Ministers from Telangana G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar and BJP Lok Sabha member from Malkajgiri Eatala Rajender to persuade the Centre to agree to the proposal. The cabinet also decided to name the proposed earth sciences university in Bhadradri-Kothagudem after late prime minister Manmohan Singh. Singh was instrumental in the formation of Telangana during the previous UPA regime, the minister recalled. The cabinet decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the kin in the event of accidental death of a woman Self-Help Group (SHG) member, he said. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who was also present at the press conference, said the cabinet decided to release a Dearness Allowance (DA) to the state government employees immediately and give another DA after six months. Vikramarka, who heads a cabinet sub-committee on issues of employees, said a trust would be formed on the issue of health cards of employees. Every employee would contribute Rs 500 per month and the government would contribute an equal amount in a year. The amount would be assigned to the proposed trust which would be headed by the Chief Secretary. It will have the representatives of employees, he said.
