Julian Edelman caught giving direct advice to one Patriots rookie
Williams is a talented prospect who has received praise throughout the offseason. Former five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. even went as far as tweeting out that Patriots fans "got a real one" with the third-round draft pick.
There is hope that he can make an impact on Day 1, serving as one of the team's top receiving options. No one knows about being a top receiving option in New England better than Edelman, who caught 620 passes for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns over a career that spanned 11 years.
He initially came into the league as a former quarterback at Kent State and worked his way up to becoming one of Tom Brady's most reliable receiving targets. The former longtime Patriot was caught sharing the things he's learned with Williams during the most recent episode of the Forged in Foxborough docuseries.
'I just always leaned on like preparation. If I dropped a ball, I'd go catch 500 balls before or after practice until I didn't drop a ball," Edelman told Williams.
Williams has the potential to be a productive receiver for the Patriots. His athleticism and ability to run after the catch make him a viable option to contribute in his first year. He was also viewed as one of the best pure separators in the 2025 NFL draft class.
Taking advice from a soon-to-be Patriots Hall of Famer isn't a bad place to start for the former Washington State standout.

Shane Steichen provides injury update on Colts' LB Zaire Franklin
After Monday's practice, Shane Steichen provided an injury update on Colts' LB Zaire Franklin. After undergoing offseason ankle surgery, Indianapolis Colts' linebacker Zaire Franklin hasn't practiced during training camp yet. But Shane Steichen believes he is close to returning. "Really close," Steichen said of Franklin's return on Monday. "Hopefully we can get him at some point this week out there. That's the hope. But he's progressing well. Obviously, he's running and doing stuff. Hopefully, we get him back out there this week, is the hope." Along with missing the start of training camp, Franklin also missed OTA and minicamp practices due to the offseason surgery as well. With the Colts not placing Franklin on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list at the start of training camp, that was a sign that they didn't expect him to be out long. With Franklin sidelined, Cameron McGrone has been seeing his share of starting reps alongside of Jaylon Carlies. Franklin is coming off a career year, which included leading the NFL in tackles, along with setting career-highs in interceptions, sacks, and quarterback pressures. As a result, Franklin would make his first Pro Bowl and was named a second-team All-Pro. Playing next to Carlies, who brings a coverage presence to the position as a former college safety, along with operating within Lou Anarumo's defensive scheme, where there will be a greater reliance on defensive backs in coverage situations, Franklin could see more opportunities this season to play closer to the line of scrimmage, which is where he is at his best.

Patriots rookie explains fast chemistry building with QB Drake Maye
New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Kyle Williams revealed why he and quarterback Drake Maye have built such good chemistry so quickly. He credited it to the work the two have put in together throughout the offseason. 'Just getting that constant work in," Williams told reporters, via WEEI's Tom Carroll. "Understanding each other. Him being able to trust me when those types of routes are being called. And when it comes to pads, just try to carry it all over…everything ramps up. We try to have that same energy from day 1 all the way to the end of training camp.' Williams, a third-round draft pick out of Washington State, could play a major role on offense for the Patriots this season. He is viewed as one of the top receivers in training camp so far, along with Stefon Diggs, Kayshon Boutte and Demario "Pop" Douglas. Getting on the same page with Maye is going to be key for Williams to increase his snap count. More importantly, it could be key in the team turning things around as a whole offensively after a disappointing season last year. For years, the Patriots have struggled to draft quality receivers. Williams might finally be the player who helps them buck that trend. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook. Colts agree to terms on a four-year extension with OT Bernhard Raimann
The Colts have agreed to terms with left tackle Bernhard Raimann on a four-year, $100 million extension, Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports. Raimann will receive $60 million guaranteed. Last week, Raimann went on 107.5 The Fan and said the sides 'aren't on the same page about things.' It didn't take long to close the gap. Raimann, a third-round pick in 2022, was headed into the final year of his rookie deal, scheduled to make a base salary of $3.656 million. He has never made the Pro Bowl or All-Pro, but he has solidified the position after a long search to find Anthony Castonzo's replacement. Castonzo retired after the 2020 season. Raimann, a native of Vienna, Austria, has started 40 games since the Colts drafted him out of Central Michigan.
