At Bombay Times Fashion Week 2025, ASFT presented SWARA- The Melody of Threads, a collection inspired by the harmony of the seven musical notes. This artistic orchestration featured seven themes that fused sculpted silhouettes with fluid drapes, intricate embroidery with futuristic cuts- where tradition meets innovation.
The collections included:
AVASANI, a poetic tribute to India's lost dynasties, blending indigo hues, temple-inspired laser motifs, and peace-seeking threads. Designed by Krishnapriya Nair, Samruddhi Ingole, Simran Yerawar, and Diya Chapriya.
SHUNYA-X, merging handcrafted textures with moonlit whites, sea green satins and Aztec strokes—where past and future converge. Designed by Arundhati Kurhe, Akanksha Hiwale, Shreya Nair and Deep Dudhat
FLORISYN, a dreamy interplay of floral printed organza, holographic fabrics, and 3D resin floral structures celebrating nature and elegance. Designed by Sanika Desai, Jigna Gagal, Urvi Oswal and Nehal Bohara.
INDIE RIOT, bold and rebellious, with distressed denim, oversized layers, and avant-garde attitude. Designed by Neha Bala, Shravani Kharavle, and Sara Lingam.
ANAHATA, draped in Banarasi brocade and temple jewellery, echoing an untouched India of unbroken heritage. Designed by Jessica John, Sivaranjani, Diya Balaji, and Chetna Kotkar.
TAMASHA ROYALE, a theatrical fantasy of baroque-inspired silhouettes, jewel tones, and masked intrigue. Designed by Dennis Varghese, Leslie Sajan, Kaviya Dhakkshinamoorthy, and Shagun Baghel.
HIMSAAD, inspired by Mount Fuji, featured earthy textures, felt, jute, and a serene, structured flow. Designed by Shraddha Rao, Rashmi Agrawal, Shruti Hulle, and Pratiksha Shinde
The students were mentored under the visionary leadership of Dr Bhawana Chanana, Director, ASFT. The core faculty team included Ms Nutan Kajbaje (Design), Ms Rashmi Thakur (AV), Ms Vandana Deshmukh (Accessories), and Ms Neha Suradkar (Styling & Backstage).
The event was graced by Divya Chauhan Ma'am, Chairperson, Amity Arts Foundation, along with a galaxy of luminaries as distinguished Guests, including leading designers and stylists, heads of notable fashion brands, eminent academicians, visionary entrepreneurs, and illustrious personalities from the world of fashion, film, and media.
The runway was opened by popular TV personality Akriti Negi, while Neel Samarth Motwani and Parinitaa Seth dazzled as showstoppers. University models Esha Velankar and Nakul Mukhi also captivated the audience with confidence and charm.
SWARA was more than a collection; it was a cultural crescendo, echoing the institute's mission to honour India's artisanal legacy while embracing modernity. With this showcase, the institute reaffirms its commitment to nurturing creative excellence and empowering young designers to make bold, global statements. Nestled in the heart of the New Forest, you can explore characterful streets as well as the nearby motor museum. The New Forest website adds: "Visitors can explore the scenic landscapes across Millpond, at Beaulieu River and in the surrounding forest, discover the village's heritage, and enjoy attractions and outdoor activities, all while soaking in the timeless charm of this quintessential New Forest gem. Visit Hampshire adds: "Here you will find ponies and donkeys roaming free in an old world setting full of charm." Wherwell is said to be "one of the most picturesque villages in the Test Valley", according to the Hampshire County Council website. It boasts some fine black-and-white thatched cottages, and it is situated on the banks of the River Test, which is known for its trout fishing. Described as a "picturesque" village by Visit Hampshire, this spot is surrounded by the beauty of the South Downs National Park. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic church, 811 Guaymas place in Albuquerque. A viewing will be held at 10:00 am, rosary at 10:30 am, with mass at 11:00 am. A reception will be held following the church service at FRENCH-Lomas.
