EXCLUSIVE Joel Dommett's wife Hannah Cooper admits she was left shocked by husband's 'intimate jokes about her body' as she reveals what it is really like being married to a comedian

Daily Mail16-05-2025

He's one of the biggest comedians in the country and has also paved a career as a successful TV presenter, hosting The Masked Singer as well as the National Television Awards.
And while being married to Joel Dommett may mean there is never a dull moment without a laugh, it also means that when it comes to their private life making its way into set material, nothing is off limits.
After sliding into Joel's DMs following his 2016 appearance on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, the star and Hannah Cooper went on their first date just days later and immediately hit it off.
The couple tied the knot three years later in a romantic beach ceremony in Mykonos and in September 2023 they welcomed their son Wilde.
And now Hannah has confessed that nothing surprises her with her husband as she admitted there are no boundaries when it comes to their private life crossing into his comedy.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline ahead of the release of her new jewellery collection with Posh Totty Designs, Hannah admitted she was shocked when she sat in the audience of one of Joel's shows and listened to jokes about her breastfeeding and giving birth.
She explained: 'I had a lot more time before Wilde to go to a lot more work in progress gigs. So I almost like vetted the material, whereas obviously now that's not so much the case.
'So actually he ended up going on tour, and it wasn't until possibly the 10th tour date that I had a chance to go to one that was pretty local.
'And then I was sitting there going like, 'Oh, okay, right cool. We're talking about me breastfeeding, me giving birth me, like quite intimate areas of my body'.
'And he's like, 'Oh, you know. But it's fine' and I'm like, 'Yeah, but you could have checked with me.' And he's like, 'Well, I can't change it now. It's the show.''
She joked: 'But I guess that does come with sort of marrying a comedian.
'I guess the price that you pay is that no stone is unturned. And same with the podcast it's all out there anyway, so it's hard to be surprised now.'
Speaking about how her husband's career has rocketed since meeting Hannah she teased: 'Yeah I say to Joel, "Is it a coincidence that when you met me it all changed. Is that a coincidence, or is it just a weird thing?"'
Hannah, who began her career as a model after being signed aged 16, has now brought out her first jewellery collection with Posh Totty Designs.
She joked: 'And then I was sitting there going like, 'Oh, okay, right cool. We're talking about me breastfeeding, me giving birth me, like quite intimate areas of my body''
She joked: 'But I guess that does come with sort of marrying a comedian. I guess the price that you pay is that no stone is unturned... it's hard to be surprised now'
The collection is inspired by Hannah's journey into motherhood and her love of all things vintage, boho, and 'cowboy core'.
Named Wilde after the couple's son, Hannah said: 'It's a really lovely thing and it really means a lot as well that it's called the Wilde collection and I can show him one day all this merch that's branded with his name,' she joked: 'Even though he won't care.'
Branching out on her own project without her husband by her side she admitted: 'Obviously in the beginning you're just "Joel Dommett's girlfriend" and then "Joel Dommet's wife" and now it's that transition.
'The podcast [Never Have I Ever] has allowed sort of people to get to know us as a couple and our dynamic and that's really lovely.
'And I'm so grateful that in turn it's allowed people to get to know me. And then opportunities like Posh Totty come along and it's like been really lovely from modeling and that sort of thing to now being able to have more of an input and a voice and choose the brands that I want to work with.
'It's been a really nice year so far, and I'm really excited for the collection to come out and be proud of it and it's mine.'
Hannah also admitted Joel is her biggest supported as she added: 'Joel's like my biggest cheerleader as well.
'I'm sort of the one going, "Oh my God, you're so busy with work." And then I work loads, and he's like, "Yeah, you go for it."
'It's really sweet and I mean now I'm at the point where Joel's on telly so much that I'm like "Oh, it's you again! I also have you in real life, and I don't have a remote for that".'
Meanwhile Posh Totty Designed Founder and Creative Director Alice Rivers-Cripps also spoke about working with Hannah as she gushed: 'From the moment I met Hannah (pregnant with little Wilde at the time!) at a party, we clicked.
'Together, we've created a collection full of charm, meaning, and a little Wild West flair — lucky horseshoes, buckle-inspired designs and symbolic charms.
'At the heart of it all is our guiding star — a little reminder to follow your own path, passion, and that spark of magic that's uniquely yours.'
The full collection will be available from May 16 at Posh Totty Designs' boutique stores in London and Brighton, online, and at select pop-up locations.

‘It's not nice to see' – Lewis Hamilton warned he's suffering from same issue as Michael Schumacher after Ferrari switch

LEWIS HAMILTON is "lost" and suffering the same problem that fellow Formula One icon Michael Schumacher did. Hamilton, 40, has struggled to extract top performance from his Ferrari machinery since joining the team over the winter. 4 4 The Brit has achieved one Sprint Race win in China but has otherwise failed to achieve a podium for the Scuderia. Former F1 star and Sky Sports F1 pundit Johnny Herbert believes Hamilton is suffering the same issues as Schumacher, 56, did when he came back to the motorsport after a break. That being the "raw pace just isn't there anymore", a thought which Herbert says is "not nice to see". Schumacher - whose ex-F1 boss gave an insight into his health battle - retired from F1 in 2006 before returning with Mercedes in 2010, but only achieved one podium in three seasons with the Silver Arrows. Speaking to InstantWithdrawalBettingSites, Herbert, 60, said: "It just looks like Lewis Hamilton is lost, really lost. "I don't know if the raw pace that he's always had throughout his career is there anymore. "I thought, with the pure racing skill Hamilton had, he'd be able to drive around any problems with the car but he seems stuck in a hole. It's not nice to see. "It's not the first time we've seen it in the sport, though. Nigel Mansell won his championship in 1992, went to America in 1993, came back in 1994 and it didn't work anymore for him. "It happened with Michael Schumacher too, when he had his break and came back, then he wasn't the same Schumacher as before. "You're always going to have your peak and an end of your peak. It's not nice to see." Hamilton's team-mate Charles Leclerc has raised his own complaints about the car and race engineers, but has managed to eke out better results with three podium finishes, including back-to-back in Monaco and Spain. Herbert added: "I know Charles Leclerc is not happy with the car either, but at least he's getting podium finishes consistently. "There have been a couple of poor decisions in Ferrari's strategy and poor communication over the radio, Hamilton doesn't have the synergy with his engineer that he needs. "He hasn't found his comfort zone since the sprint win in China. "Sometimes you don't realise when it's not as easy as it was before, but when you look across the garage and your team-mate is outperforming you, then it may click. "The greats of the sport, at their peak, get the best out of their car. Max Verstappen is doing it right now. Hamilton just can't seem to get the extra he needs anymore. "He won't understand why he can't, because he'll feel like he should be able to. But, Leclerc is outperforming you in the same car. Leclerc is only going to grow and is in control of Ferrari's future. "He's the guy they can rely on, Ferrari can't rely on Lewis Hamilton at this point. It's horrible to say but it's the truth." Former Mercedes and McLaren star Hamilton appeared close to tears following the Spanish Grand Prix where he finished P6, even after a penalty for old rival Max Verstappen bumped him up the order. 4 Hamilton later apologised to Sky Sports F1 presenter Rachel Brookes after his blunt response to a question, where he snapped: "Well what do you want me to say? I had a really bad day and I've got nothing to say. 'It was a difficult day, I've got nothing else to add to it. There's no point explaining it." Hamilton will now have next weekend off to help him collect his thoughts before getting back behind the wheel for the Canadian Grand Prix on June 15. McLaren pair Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris lead the World Drivers Championship, with the Aussie leading by 10 points after claiming victory in Barcelona last weekend. He has opened up a huge 49-point gap to reigning four-time world champion Verstappen after the Dutchman lost his head and crashed into Mercedes' George Russell when asked to yield his position. Despite calls to be disqualified, the incident saw the Red Bull driver being given a 10-second time penalty, dropping him from P5 to P10, and slapped with three penalty points on his FIA Super Licence. That decision has placed him on the brink of a race ban after collecting 11 out of a maximum of 12 penalty points. The system works on a 12-month rolling timer, but the next time the 27-year-old will see any points taken off his record will be June 30. Races are due to commence in Montreal and Spielberg before that date, meaning he will have to be on his best behaviour to avoid a ban. Picking up another point in Canada will mean a ban for his team's home race at the Red Bull Ring, meanwhile, a point in Austria would see him banned for the British Grand Prix on July 6. Hamilton himself sits P6 in the standings, while his team have squeezed their way into P2.

Hotelier who spent £55k building his own canal and 'giant cupcake' in back garden 'fears for his business' ahead of showdown with council

A hotelier who spent £55,000 building his own canal and a 'giant cupcake' wedding venue in his garden faces having to rip them down after falling foul of planning laws. Stephen Cuddy made headlines after building his own mini-canal system with a functioning lock and a narrowboat, which he converted into a swimming pool. He went on to construct a cupcake-shaped wedding venue within the grounds of Grimscote Manor Hotel in Coleshill, Warwickshire. Both creations were hailed by TV's George Clarke as being among the best 'Amazing Spaces' he had ever featured on the Channel 4 show. But it has now emerged Stephen didn't have council approval to build either. And he has been warned that both may have to be torn down if he doesn't get retrospective planning permission. Stephen, 59, fears will have no choice but to demolish his labours of love, as he can't afford the legal fees to fight the local authority after splashing out on the projects. He claims it would cost him up to £100,000 to defend their construction. The self-taught architect said: 'It's really stressing me out and I don't know what to do as I don't have the money to fight them. 'I had issues from the start with the council but I thought I could build these things as a result of my permitted development rights. 'I don't agree the canal is a structure, I thought it would be classed under landscaping and all it does is harvest rainfall. 'I think the cupcake might be a permanent structure if we do start hosting weddings there like we intended but at the moment it's not being used for that. 'You try and create all these beautiful things for people to enjoy and this is what happens. I'm sure they will try and make me pull them down. 'I fear for my business as these creations are a draw for people and we saw revenue increase when both were built - some people even come just to have a photo with it.' Stephen previously purchased a 35ft (10m) long vintage barge off eBay for £5,000 and spent £25,000 constructing an accurate reproduction of a Victorian canal lock to house it. He also built a redbrick lockkeeper's cottage, an outdoor patio within a decorative tunnel alcove and installed a 29ft (8m) long swimming pool inside the barge. Stephen then spent £25,000 building the 'world's biggest cupcake' on a reinforced stable roof which he had planned to use for weddings or to host tea parties. It has an unsupported, domed roof without any vertical central upright. George Clarke described it as 'Genuinely one of my favourite Amazing Spaces builds of all time.' North Warwickshire District Council also say a marquee erected at the hotel breaches planning laws and also requires planning permission. Stephen added: 'They also have issues with the marquee which I've had for over ten years at which point you can claim lawful use regardless of permission. 'But because I took it down during Covid, they are also pulling me up on that as it doesn't come under the ten year lawful use period. 'I previously obtained the relevant permissions for the marquee when it was first erected in 2009 but that wasn't without a fight which cost £50,000 in legal fees. 'It was originally refused on safety grounds because of the increased traffic - and that is why I fear the worst now if they try to pull the same trick again. 'They want me to send in a joint application for all three things, but I think they should all be dealt with separately. I don't even know why they suddenly have an issue with marquee. 'It's a £100,000 defence I've estimated if I fight it all the way, which I just don't have. 'We've had no complaints whatsoever, exactly the opposite, everyone loves them. There would be uproar if I had to tear them down. 'I'm just trying to run a business and want to move on to other projects but have this lingering over me now. 'I think the council need a lesson in how to deal people with a bit of tact and humility instead of threats because this has really broken me.' The council says Mr Cuddy (pictured) can still opt to apply for full planning permission if he wants to keep all of the things he has built North Warwickshire District Council said several options were still open to Stephen before enforcement action would be taken. In a letter to Stephen, a planning officer said: 'During the subsequent tour of the hotel grounds, breaches of planning control were identified here. 'Located between the hotel building and the marquee is a round structure with a turret style roof, externally this structure resembles the shape of a cupcake. 'It is nearing completion and has been constructed on top of an existing stable block structure. 'There is no permitted development rights afforded to C1 Hotel use land by the GPDO that would allow for this structure without the need for planning permission. 'Upon entry to the site, a canal feature comprising a to scale canal lock, boat and tunnel can be seen. 'There is no planning permission to account for this. This is not "permitted development" and would be considered an engineering operation. 'It can be seen via Streetview imagery that this development was constructed between November 2021 and July 2023. 'It will need to be shown in a retrospective full planning application for formal consideration. 'For the avoidance of formal enforcement action, you are advised to submit a valid 'Full Planning Application' detailing retention of the Wedding Marquee, 'Cupcake' structure and Canal feature, as identified above. 'If you do not wish to apply for retrospective planning permission, a timeframe for removal of these developments may need to be agreed.' A North Warwickshire Borough Council spokesperson said: 'We have explained the planning situation to Mr Cuddy and have outlined several options open to him.

Trevoh Chalobah set to join Gary Neville in exclusive club if Chelsea star makes England debut in Andorra clash

TREVOH CHALOBAH is determined to make an impression following his first international call-up. The Chelsea centre-back is hoping to make his England debut against Andorra on Saturday after being named in the squad last month by Thomas Tuchel. 4 4 If he plays at the weekend, or against Senegal in Nottingham on Tuesday, he will join Jack and Bobby Charlton and Phil and Gary Neville as brothers who have played for England. Chalobah 's sibling, Nathaniel, has one senior cap, against Spain in 2018. And the Chelsea ace is hoping to follow in his footsteps. He said: "My older brother has been through the ranks as well and he was over the moon when I got the call up. Hopefully I can keep myself in the team and doing well. "To get the call-up is amazing. It was one of my goals since playing through the ranks, from Under-16 to Under-21. It's a dream to play in the first team. "To be back here with him (Tuchel), having been with him at Chelsea, and knowing who he is and how he works, is good." Chalobah knew he could make it to the very top after marking Neymar out of a game in a victory over Paris St-Germain. The defender helped Lorient to a shock 3-2 win over the Ligue 1 giants during his loan spell at the club in 2021. 4 He said: "It was very hard in France at first but it was a reason I went out to play against teams like PSG other than play on loan in the Championship. "I was marking Neymar. He was as a no 10. I was in central midfield. It was very good. Playing against Neymar. Mbappe, those type of players, helped me. "I knew I could play against the highest level and that is the main reason I went out there. "For me. I knew what the goal was." Chalobah had loan spells at Ipswich and Huddersfield before joining Lorient. He spent the first half of this season at Crystal Palace but excelled when returning for Enzo Maresca and has now made 99 appearances for Chelsea. Asked about Tuchel, he said: "He's a very tough manager. That's what us players need going into a World Cup next year. It's a very good approach. "He wants to win. You've seen that at Chelsea. He's a winner and he wants to bring that same winning culture here."
