TUI Airways resumes Southampton to Palma flights after 15 years, supporting summer travel demand and enhancing Marella Cruises' Mediterranean itineraries.
TUI Airways has resumed its flights from Southampton Airport to Palma De Mallorca, marking the first departure in 15 years. The inaugural full flight took off yesterday (Tuesday, 27th May), reconnecting travellers with the largest and sunniest of the Balearic Islands.
This weekly service will operate until the end of September, perfectly complementing Marella Cruises' eagerly awaited summer program.

Southampton Airport completes multi-million-pound upgrade with advanced security scanners, improving passenger convenience, efficiency, and streamlining screening of electronics and liquids. Southampton Airport has successfully completed its multi-million-pound project to enhance security screening with the installation of state-of-the-art Next Generation Security Checkpoint (NGSC) scanners. This major upgrade marks a signifaicant milestone in the airport's commitment to improving passenger experience and operational efficiency. The new NGSC scanners are now fully operational, allowing passengers to keep electronic devices, such as laptops and tablets, in their hand baggage during screening. It also allows for multiple liquids, up to 100ml to be taken through as hand baggage. This advancement significantly streamlines the security process and enhances overall convenience for travellers. Gavin Williams, Managing Director Operations at Southampton Airport, said: 'The completion of this project represents a transformative step forward for Southampton Airport.
