Gervonta Davis is back in the spotlight and not for his boxing ability. Following domestic violence arrests, the undefeated lightweight champion was released from prison in Florida on July 8, 2025.
People were most startled by his quiet, covered-up departure from prison, surrounded by police and not just the arrest.

jail release
On July 8, 2025, Gervonta Davis was seen departing Broward County Jail. Wearing all black, the 29-year-old boxer had his face shielded with a hoodie and mask. He didn't answer any questions from nearby individuals or journalists. Officers escorted Davis out and swiftly departed the scene in a vehicle waiting nearby.
This moment has now spread widely on social networking.
Many people are strongly responding to the way Gervonta Davis handled the situation. Particularly given the severity of the matter, his silence and covered face have caused outrage. Many Sports websites and other news outlets have depicted him moving quickly with guards, avoiding all eye contact. Davis had been caught over the weekend following a claimed event including a woman.

Gervonta Davis faces criticism from fans after shocking arrest and secretive exit
Controversy is not unfamiliar to Gervonta Davis. The boxing star has had legal issues including prior assault claims in years gone by. With a 30-0 record and big victories in 2023 and 2024, he still maintains a significant presence in the boxing scene.
This fresh arrest, though, could affect his prospects.

Absconding drug trafficking accused arrested by NCB after nearly 3 years in Chennai

CHENNAI: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Chennai arrested a key accused in a cross-border drug trafficking case on Monday, nearly three years after he evaded arrest. The accused, identified as Siluvairaj, a resident of Ramanathapuram, was detained upon arrival in Chennai, marking a significant breakthrough in an ongoing narcotics investigation. The arrest is linked to a November 2022 intelligence-led operation in which NCB Chennai intercepted a Tata Sumo Victa on the Ramanathapuram-Tuticorin State Highway. During the search, officials seized 4.44 kilograms of hashish oil concealed inside the vehicle. Two men from Tuticorin, who travelled in the vehicle, were taken into custody. Upon interrogation, they revealed that they were hired by Siluvairaj to transport the contraband to Tuticorin for onward trafficking to Sri Lanka. Abdullah filed separate petitions in the high court concerning the two cases requesting it to set aside the entire criminal proceedings of the ongoing trials in Rampur's MP/MLA court. Live Events BJP MLA Akash Saxena had filed a case against Abdullah in Rampur on July 30, 2019, alleging fraud and violation of the Passport Act for allegedly obtaining the travel document using an incorrect date of birth. According to the complaint, Abdullah was issued a passport on January 10, 2018. The passport lists the date of birth as September 30, 1990 but his educational certificates say January 1, 1993. According to him, Abdullah allegedly concealed this fact in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission. He showed one PAN number in the affidavit, but used another number in his income tax return documents.
