Tennessee Titans' supporting cast ranked among NFL's worst

Tennessee Titans' supporting cast ranked among NFL's worst Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Bogonzi was tasked with rebuilding an organization that has struggled to remain relevant. Since moving to Tennessee from Houston, the Titans have made 10 postseason appearances, including a Super Bowl appearance in 1999 when they lost to the St. Louis Rams. Borgonzi is the next guy tabbed to take this franchise to the next level, but first, the rebuild. To that end, the Titans made many impactful moves during the offseason. They bolstered the offensive line during free agency and added other offensive weapons through the 2025 NFL draft. One of those weapons is Cam Ward, the rookie standout from Miami who is expected to start for the Titans in Week 1. But how did Borgonzi do with Ward's supporting cast? FOX Sports ranks the Titans' supporting cast near the bottom of the league at 29th overall. It feels like a big deal that Cam Ward is going to start his NFL career behind an offensive line that should give him a chance. Maybe the Titans overpaid for a couple pieces there, but it still looks like it's going to be a much better unit than what you'd expect from the team picking first in the draft. Calvin Ridley is still a solid enough receiver, and Tony Pollard still managed 1,000 yards on last year's terrible team. The options behind them aren't as exciting, but you've got to admit this isn't an awful starting point. It's interesting that with such a low ranking, there wasn't much negative to say about the Titans' offensive weapons. There are no big names outside of Calvin Ridley and Tony Pollard, but they are all very capable players. Rookies Chimere Dike, Elic Ayomanor, and Xavier Restrepo are already turning heads, and it wouldn't be surprising to see one or more of them take a starting spot before the season ends. Add to that the lack of talk about Tyjae Spears and what he brings to the table, that he held down the ground game while Tony Pollard battled injury in 2024. He has his own injury issues, but he's a multi-faceted player who can be used to disguise plays of all kinds. So, while FOX Sports ranks the Titans' supporting cast near the bottom of the league, it's mostly because it's an untested group in a new regime. How they perform this season will show us where things truly stand.

Former Bengals coach already on the hot seat elsewhere in the NFL

Former Bengals coach already on the hot seat elsewhere in the NFL Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor might be on the hot seat in 2025, sure. But what about a former understudy such as Brian Callahan? After one year with the Tennessee Titans, Callahan is already registering on the hot-seat watch from onlookers such as Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus: 'Under Callahan's guidance, Tennessee ended a woeful 3-14 in 2024. Callahan's offensive success with the Bengals hardly translated, as the Titans ended the year 29th in EPA per play, 25th in success rate and 27th in average yards per play.' RELATED: Bengals, Shemar Stewart nuclear option includes 2026 NFL draft route Callahan was fortunate to land with a Titans team that was a little more patient than some last year, considering Jerod Mayo and Antonio Pierce were let go after one season each. But the clock is certainly ticking in Tennessee. Callahan got to play his part in drafting No. 1 pick Cam Ward. If he can work his magic like he did with Joe Burrow, he'll do just fine. If there aren't immediate results, though, it's hard to know just how patient the Titans can be during Ward's critical developmental window beyond 2025. As for Taylor and the Bengals, he could be right there on the hot seat by the end of 2025 if the season doesn't go as planned, especially now that he's re-tooled major parts of his coaching staff, implying better results. Tennessee Titans to have joint practices with the Atlanta Falcons ahead of preseason game

When the NFL announced its 2025 schedule, the Tennessee Titans discussed the possibility of taking part in joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons in weeks one and two of the preseason. On Monday, Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris announced that the arrangements have been made and that they will hold joint practices with the Titans ahead of the Week 2 preseason game in Atlanta. This approach should help speed up the process of getting Cam Ward up to speed with live reps against another franchise. The two teams will hold joint sessions on August 12 and 13 prior to their August 15 battle. At this point, no specifics have been given on what will take place for the Titans on August 14, but with so many new faces it will likely be some type of walkthrough. Advertisement During his first season as head coach, Brian Callahan held joint practices with the Seattle Seahawks prior to their Week 2 preseason battle, after which he eventually held out many veterans from the subsequent game. WIth so many new and young faces fighting it out for spots on the depth chart, it will be interesting to see what his philosophy is now in his second year. The Titans will be holding another open practice on Tuesday and Callahan will likely address the media, with Morris making the announcement during his press availability in Atlanta on Monday, Callahan could offer more insight during that press availability.
