Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Issues Shocking Prediction on Rehab originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
FRISCO - There is no shortage of Trevon Diggs-related rumors and theories and headline news.
The difference on Wednesday?

Trevon Diggs himself took charge.
There are stories ranging from the idea of him being cut to the idea of him being traded to the idea of his rehab going poorly, and new Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer recently tried to set the record straight here inside The Star.
'All signs,'' Scottenheimer said, even as Diggs was absent from OTAs while working on his knee in Miami, "are positive.'
How much so?
"Trevon Diggs (knee) says his goal is to return Week 1 of the 2025 season," colleague Calvin Watkins of the Dallas News just wrote on X.
This is a shocking announcement from Diggs .. and maybe a wildly optimistic one.

Due to his knee issue and as a response, Dallas brought in talented third-round steal Shavon Revel, a cornerback from East Carolina, in the NFL Draft. (He, of course, also happens to be recovering from knee surgery.) The Cowboys also traded for former first-round pick Kaiir Elam from the Buffalo Bills.
So maybe Trevon is just dangling that inspirational carrot on a stick for himself ... because to many, the situation surrounding Diggs, who signed a $97 million extension in 2023, is worrisome.
Sources have told CowboysCountry.com that Diggs - who underwent a chondral tissue graft surgery in January on his left knee after missing the final three games of the 2024 season - will likely miss the first half of this season.
And really, being that this is Diggs' second major knee surgery in the last three seasons, his Cowboys career could have already seen its best days.

And to some, those days could be numbered.
But even though Diggs has missed 21 games over the past two seasons, he certainly doesn't need to succumb to that line of thinking.
There has been some organizational frustration here, which was noticed when owner Jerry Jones urged Diggs into a more focused and motivated rehab process this offseason -- which hints that Dallas believes he may not have taken things seriously enough last time.
Is Trevon Diggs serious about playing in Week 1?
That might be a shocking thought. But to Cowboys Nation, it's probably an inspirational one as well.

New Photo Emerges of Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift After Unexpected Public Appearance
New Photo Emerges of Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift After Unexpected Public Appearance originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are in the building for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals, as the Florida Panthers look to defend home ice and take a commanding 3-1 series lead against the Edmonton Oilers. Kelce and Swift's relationship first became public in September 2023, months after her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City. Speculations started abounding when Swift was seen in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium, watching the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears alongside Kelce's mother, Donna. Since then, the pop star has become a regular at Chiefs home games, and the couple has also attended other major sporting events last year, including the U.S. Open in September and a New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians game in October. Following the Chiefs' loss to the Eagles in the Super Bowl and the conclusion of "The Eras Tour," the two have kept a relatively low profile. That changed on Thursday night, when the couple drew cameras at Amerant Bank Arena. A new photo surfaced of them at their seats enjoying the Stanley Cup matchup. Meanwhile, with Kelce enjoying the offseason and Swift coming off an almost two-year tour, it makes sense that the duo made an appearance to add to the growing list of athletic events they've been attending together. Each appearance has drawn national media attention, with broadcasters and networks incorporating their attendance into event coverage. While fans came to cheer on the Cats in hopes of moving one step closer to the cup, the celebrity couple is difficult to ignore in every building they walk through. Eagles' Saquon Barkley Reveals New 'Non-Retirement' Plan
Eagles' Saquon Barkley Reveals New 'Non-Retirement' Plan originally appeared on Athlon Sports. We wrote it as soon as he said it. Mostly, Saquon Barkley seems to just be thinking out loud and toying with the idea when he mentioned the notion of an early retirement, unintentionally crushing the hearts of Philadelphia Eagles fans who want this ride to go on forever. Advertisement What was Barkley thinking? Way back in July of 1999, Barry Sanders was at the top of his game and yet stunned the NFL by announcing his retirement after a stellar 10-year career with the Detroit Lions. Sanders, who had made the Pro Bowl 10 times, was just 31 when he said goodbye. Fast-forward to a few days ago. "I'll probably be one of those guys that it'll be out of nowhere. I'll probably just wake up one day, whether it's next year or two years or four years, and just be like, 'Yeah it's over,'" Barkley said. Wait. What? A bit of context is merited here. It is during an interview with Chris Long on the latest edition of "The Green Light" podcast when the 28-year-old Barkley was asked if he is the kind of guy who might retire sooner rather than later. Advertisement And then the surprising answer, which adds up to the idea Barkley might consider retiring as early as following this season. At the same time, the superstar added, "I don't think I will ever lose that passion. I'm just a competitor. ... The competitive nature is always going to be there." And now we know more. Saquon met with the media on Wednesday and offered some clarity. 'I don't think I'll ever lose the passion for the game,' he said. 'The retiring thing, I think that caught a little fire on social media. I don't plan on retiring any time soon. The question was asked of me, and I don't have a set date, or how many years I want to play. Advertisement "I would love to play this game as long as God lets me, and my body lets me, so that's really it.' Good. Barkley is coming off a spectacular season in which he became just the ninth player in league history to cross the 2,000-yard barrier as he hit 2,005 yards. ... and then won a Super Bowl. Now he's married... on the Madden 26 cover... and the centerpiece of a team poised to win another one. Oh, and he's just 28. Maybe the idea popped into Saquon's mind because as he said, "One of my favorite players of all time, probably my favorite player of all time, is Barry Sanders, so probably similar to that. Maybe one day it will be out of nowhere. I'll probably be ballin' and just be like, 'Yeah' and call it quits." Advertisement But this week? What seems to be popping is his recognition that his Philadelphia Eagles have a grand chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions. So, one more time with feeling? 'I don't plan on retiring anytime soon," Barkley said. Kevin Patullo Makes a Good First Impression at OTAs
Kevin Patullo Makes a Good First Impression at OTAs originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo impressed during his first media session with reporters since taking over the new position. Patullo offered insight into the type of offense he plans to run and how he will maximize the talent of his players. Advertisement Former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore left the Eagles right after the Super Bowl to become the head coach of the New Orleans Saints. After starting with Philadelphia as the passing game coordinator from 2021-2024, head coach Nick Sirianni promoted Patullo to officially call the shots on offense this season. During the second day of OTAs for the Eagles, Patullo spoke about how his version of the offense will look. Said the coach: 'I think when you say 'different,' I think it's going to be like, 'What do our players do best?' And then from there, we just expand upon it. Hey, we're really good at this. Let's bring this to the table and try this and see where we can take it. And I think really, when you look at just our staff as a whole, we've added some new coaches, so they bring some other layers to it too, and then the knowledge of what they have from their background. Advertisement 'So I think as we go forward, as we build this thing together as a staff, you'll see some new wrinkles here and there, but more so it's just kind of building on what our players do best.'' Patullo will look to improve and grow a talented offensive unit that has the necessary pieces to make another Super Bowl run. ... with some "new wrinkles'' that figure to challenges rivals who stand in Philly's way.
